Marvel Digital Graphic Novel Sale at Amazon

So I'm looking at buying Spider-Verse (hey, I liked it, so shoot me), and it looks like it's it's 2 parts, which isn't the end of the world (have to buy the series, and then the prequel "Edge of" stuff separately). But the Spider-Verse book isn't in chronological/release order, which is probably gonna get on my nerves.

Age of Apocalypse (1-4)
Maximum Carnage
All for $23 why not.
Also got X-Men: God Loves, Man Kill for $0.80 and X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga for free

Damn. Such good deals but I really don't want to do this again, I hate having a bunch of comics in my kindle library. Really wish they would match the prices on comixology, dunno why they don't considering you can just transfer the purchase over and have both.

Picked up -

Black Panther v3
Poe Dameron v2
The Star Wars

Total - $7.80. These sales are nutso. Awesomely nuts.

Amazon sent me a free code for my purchase - got the X-Men Epic Collection for my digital library.

Passed on the Claremont Uncanny XMen run the first time and regretted it. Not this time! Picked up volume 1-10, DoFP, Phoenix Saga.

Is this all Claremont?

Do we know how long this sale is running? I've really been wanting to pick up the Star Wars books, and I could pick up every single collection that's out right now at ~$42 for ~117 issues which is absurd. I need to balance out other things right now as well however though.

Did you partake in this last tweet time? Wonder if we all get new codes. What else was on the list?

Also, any good post Superior Spider-Man stuff worth picking up?

Could you post the list of books to choose from? Haven't bought anything yet this go around, but I don't wanna buy a book I can get for free.

Ended up picking many of the books I missed last time, along with a few that I think are new to this sale.

Captain America: Winter Soldier #1-2
Legendary Star-Lord #1
Moon Knight #1-2
Ms. Marvel #1-4
Rocket Raccoon #1-2
Secret Wars II
Spider-Gwen #0-3
Spider-man: Dying Wish
Spider-man: Miles Morales #1-2
Spider-man: Peter Parker - The One And Only
Star Wars: The Crimson Empire Saga
Star Wars: Darth Vader #1-4
Superior Spider-man #1-6
Vision #1-2
Wolverine

Aww man, this sucks. Is there a reason that the first 2 Garth Ennis Fury Max series aren't available? Doesn't look like they're in print physically either.
This one, not My War Gone By:
Fury_2001_cover.png

EDIT: Just reading the wiki entry, apparently this is the book that made George Clooney walk away from a potential Nick Fury movie back in the day, maybe that's why

Superior Spider-Man Vol. 2-6

Inhumans vs. X-Men
Death of X

All for under 40$, holy shit.

So I have discovered Rick & Morty, and yes I know they have their own Comic, I like the Multiverse concept from the show.

I know there are Multiverses in the Marvel universe and different Multiverses have different Characters.

But what Marvel Comics could I be reading that deals with specific characters travelling to the different Multiverse or maybe different Dimensions, or Time Travel etc?

I'm trying to search google etc, but what it's throwing up is the names of the Multiverse (616 etc) or the Characters that are in certain Multiverses, thats not what I want, what I want is the travellers or indeed events that deal with going through portals, multiverses, dimensions, or Time and it helps if they are good reads too.

My guess is I want to be reading Dr Strange, any others besides Strange?

If you took the Time to read or reply to this and you understand what I mean, I thank you.

Search for a book called Exiles.

Hickman's Fantastic Four is the GOAT comic, and deals heavily with time travel & alternate dimensions.

Hickman's Avengers is about trying to stop the multiverse from slowly dying.

There's also Spider-Verse where all the Spider-People from different universes meet up

Haven't read comics in years. When I was a kid I used to buy them all the time. I used to read a bunch of X-Men and Spider-Man in the 90s (and I remember a comic called Bloodshot which I used to like, not Marvel).

I want to get back into it, but I find this all a bit overwhelming. Am I going to be lost if I jump into a series that was released in the 2000s? I don't mind branching out beyond X-Men and Spider-man. What do some of these packs mean, am I getting the whole series?

Recommendations and help please!
Marvel characters & worlds I know I like for sure - Spider-Man, X-Men (specifically I liked Gambit), Guardians of the Galaxy, Cap, Punisher, Ghost Rider. Spider-Gwen and this Miles Morales character intrigue me, and I heard something about a storyline involving Doc Ock in Spidey's body which seems interesting. I'm totally open to reading new characters/stories too!

Welcome aboard!

MY recommendations are the following as they are self-contained and made for new readers:

Astonishing X-Men, Whedon - this has no Gambit sadly but it is still extremely good re-introduction to the X-Team. This is 4 volumes, total ~$8

Uncanny X-Force, Remender - this is the opposite of ASX above. ASX is bright and bold. UXF is grit and bad assery. This is 6 volumes, total $13

Ultimate Spider-Man, Brian Michael Bendis - this is a lovely, self contained set of Spider-Man stories starting from his origin story. Terrific stuff straight through. 20+ volumes, total $40+

THIS IS ALSO ON SALE right now: Valiant Comics is back and maybe the best cape comics being put out today. Bloodshot is back in The Valiant & if you love that (which you will) you can continue reading his story in Bloodshot: Reborn

You're using Bloodshot as a gateway to Valiant so they can join all twelve of us who read these books, aren't you? 🤔

Oh, I get it now I think. The 'books in this series' on the Astonishing X-Men page for $22+ is not what I should be looking at. I just look for the ones that have Whedon as the author.

i've updated my post with links to the volume 1, as well as how many books are in each and how much the totals cost

: )

my dude says he loved Bloodshot - what better way to bring him into the fold!

yes, those bundles are not the cheapest. there are 4 Whedon Astonishing X-Men volumes in total, each about $2

Amazon is offering another free comic book with purchase. I got Vol1 of Ennis' run of Punisher Max. SD suggested this book for 0.00 to trigger the promotion, email came about 2 hrs later and the promo was applied after my purchase around 4 hrs later.

I just got this promo. What from the list linked should I get for someone relatively new to comics? I'm open to trying anything: https://www.amazon.com/s?rh=i:digital-text,n:16584548011&ie=UTF8&lo=digital-text&tag=viglink20241-20

Halp! Really stuck for my final purchase. Will be either:
  • Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet Vol 3
  • Inhumans by Paul Jenkins & Jae Lee
  • Avengers: The Korvac Saga

I have but haven't read Volume 2 of BP. I might hold off on that reason alone. I actually prefer the tighter single volumes, hence Inhumans and Korvac. Inhumans is especially on my mind after buying and flying through Ellis's Karnak. Want to see more of the Royal Family.

that Inhumans book is really good

are there any specific characters you enjoy? or styles of story (spy, action, comedy, etc) that you're in the mood for?

I've only really read a significant amount of the recent Ms Marvel, some Star Wars stuff and weirdly enough some of the recent Valiant books.

I'd see a decent mix of comedy and action is what I like best, but I also enjoyed the grittiness of the Valiant stuff I read.
