New Super Mario Odyssey trailer

Minor stuff from the JP stream:

I think this is our first look at the
Snorkel
suit outside of the Crazy Cap Store (no video)

...and some UI stuff in the map...

I'll add to this post if anything else pops up!

E: Is it me or do the New Donk Moons look a little brighter than E3? This doesn't seem to be the exact same build because I think the regional coins are different too.

I haven't been this hype for a Mario game since Galaxy, please post more screenies :p

Any videos of it?

Sorry, that was just a still image they displayed on the screen, sadly. Right now they're playing through the Sand Kingdom (and the site might save the video of the full stream afterwards, but I'm not sure since it's my first time using it, haha), but there hasn't been anything really "new" yet. If it comes up again later I'll try to get some more images, at the very least.

E: ah, yeah, I understand the confusion. Should have said "action" instead of "motion" - I was trying to separate it from that quick shot we saw in the Crazy Cap store but it ended up sounding it like there was actual video from it, my bad :'(

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Ahh too bad, can't wait to see it in motion.

Sorry, I realize now where the confusion might have come from. I was trying to separate that shot from the quick peek we saw in the Crazy Cap store (I think in the E3 trailer) but the word "motion" made it sound like there was actual video from it, my bad :'( Terrible choice of words on my part.

Don't worry about it dude :)

Closer look at the "Underwater Kingdom" from the background (that I think is the same as the boxart one). It'd be awesome to just get the full background as a wallpaper haha.

This doesn't look like Seaside to me? Seaside's cliffs all had horizontal ridges iirc, and that had a major focus on "clear waters", while this one seems to be going for a mystical deep waters vibe? It still might be Seaside, but I'm not too sure now.

E: and it's over, I guess. Nothing major, but still enjoyable to watch on the background.

Found another image of the snorkel suit.

Edit: Nvm, Belgian Dude already mentioned it.

I can not wait to explore underwater with it.

I love the attention of detail of Mario getting excited and curious about seeing how many more Moons he needs.

This place has a checkpoint flag in the entrance so might be a different-looking area only accessible through there. Impossible to say but the abundance of cheep cheeps in both are making me think it's the same Kingdom.

I thought about that too but I'm pretty sure someone showed that Cheep Cheep are labeled on the World Map as part of the Lake Kingdom, instead of the Seaside one.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
How come in one image Cappy is the goggles on the Snorkle Outfit and the other image he isn't?

Lake Kingdom is probably the jungle world with the spiky caterpillars and flying lizards, the one Koizumi described as "set on a tropical island." In the background you can see the islands are set in the middle of a giant purple lake, with the shoreline visible in the distance.

It did look surrounded but I think that must be based the palm tree shaped islands, which apparently even have a purple patch of sea on the globe.
The name Lake Lamode makes it sound like there will be some fashion theme to the level, possibly the source of the wedding dress?

I'm assuming there's some other interface somewhere to change outfits on the fly. The only place I've seen it so far is when you first purchase an item.

Any idea what (if any) effects the different outfits might have?

Do you have a picture of this part of the globe?

So far the outfits are just used to get you into special places. Like you need to dress up as Mario Maker Mario to take the service elevator to reach a platforming challenge on a rooftop in New Donk City. And in Tostarena you need the poncho and sombrero to get into a back alley club where Mario plays in a mariachi band and receives a power moon. And the explorer outfit allows you to talk to a sphinx in Steam Gardens (yes, a sphinx in the middle of a forest), who asks you a pop quiz that allows you to proceed deeper into the level.

You can change your outfits inside your airship, btw. There's a changing mirror. Your airship is parked at the start of each kingdom. We saw all of this in the E3 footage.

Worth noting the distinct palm trees in the footage seen from the Tropical Islands

What if that's a palm-shaped landmass with a purple lake interior? It looks like it's palm-shaped with a purple interior. The kingdom could be called "Lake Kingdom," but the specific location within it could reference palm trees. Each kingdom has a location in it you explore, i.e. New Donk City in the Metro Kingdom, Mount Volbono in the Luncheon Kingdom, etc. So maybe the palm reference is not in the kingdom name, but in the location name instead?

The Lake Kingdom is marked on the map as like, directly next to the Sand one, though. I think they really just threw a curveball and showed us a sneak peek of an unnamed kingdom, haha.

It's defo possible they're doing something clever with the "islands" as you pointed out, but the purple area around the palmtree landmass seems to match the one shown at the direct trailer, and we don't have a name of that yet. Not that I'm complaining if that's the case, tho, that just means we're getting even more kingdoms than we thought!

I think the only one confirmed is little quests, like "Only the band is allowed in here" so you go get Mario's concert costume, that kind of a thing.

I remember the shop keepers talking about changing rooms too. I think I've seen some yellow panels with top hats on which could be a changing room door, perhaps.

Around 1:50 in the last video, you can see a shadow moon (one that's already been collected), which means we'll be able to replay objectives as in past 3D Mario titles.

And prior to that, the blue Broodal appears in the Luncheon Kingdom. We've previously seen him in the Wooded Kingdom. We already knew you'd fight each one multiple times, but it's nice to see an example of this.
