The Last of Us Part II announced

You say this now, but just wait until the live demo when Ellie's wolf companion throws a brick at an enemy. The hype will get you.
Nah new distraction technology... Dog taking a poop.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I highly doubt this game will have an animal companion. Neil much prefers human relationships when it comes to writing.

We might see Wolf, or Bear infected enemies instead.

Claw marks

It'll be done in the style of Look Who's Talking Now! with the dog's inner thoughts being voice by Nolan North.

please dont have a I Am Legend moment were you have to...you know to the dog. :(

i cant

If you haven't read the book, the dog moment is like a hundred times worse. I had to put it down after reading that part and take a walk. I actually wish the Will Smith job had done a better job of capturing that moment from the book better but I guess you could say that about a lot of that films second half.

Is there any chance this will support VR?

I played the original on PS3 through the Sony HMZ head mounted display and it was amazing. Would love proper VR in the sequel.

Doubt it. But playing ND games in PSVR with the virtual theater is actually pretty great. Their lack of UI helps a lot.

Ellie discovers a well-preserved Walkman containing an unusual kid's mixtape of mid 80's and 90's theme music, some of which Joel recognises from his youth. Popping in (relatively) fresh batteries, Ellie squeezes the play button and the headphones swish to life.

Track 1: Run With Us (from The Raccoons)

Most of the music should be mostly recognisable but not chart-topping tracks. Ellie hums different parts during downtime, like idle animations.

I know this is sort of off topic, but watching War for the Planet of the Apes got me thinking of this. Will the virus evolve in any way similar to War for the Planet of the Apes, or will it remain as a non changing entity like the Zombie virus in George Romero's Dead trilogy?

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Unchanging? Did you not watch Day of the Dead?

I think it’s pretty certain that TLOU2 will have new Infected enemy types (and, I hope, a rework of the Bloater’s AI/behavior so it feels less like a miniboss and more like a part of the game’s world).

I hope Part II also has encounters where you can pit human and infected enemies against each other, one of my favorite aspects of the DLC. It felt satisfying to create some chaos here and there when the opportunity presented itself.

Had the chance to talk with a few Naughty Dog devs a while back in 2014 and one of the concept artists doodled what looked like to be an older Ellie on the press kit (maybe hinting at something?).

Is it crazy to assume they were planning this sequel from the beginning?

That's awesome dude!

Neil said he pitched the story of Part 2 to Ashley Johnson(Ellie) at the same time as pitching the Left Behind dlc.
