I don't get how they can do these one day things. It's logistically expensive to set up a new chain of shipment just for one day, especially if it's supplying meat.

I was hoping Nihilist Arby's had commented, but they have not. While I wait for that bit of commentary I'll just throw this out there, because there should be some Nihilist Arby's in every Arby's thread.

How is it even worth doing for just 1 day? Arbys is weird
They probably came across a bunch of cheap deer meat and thought this promo up. I would be curious to try this. I have tried moose and I didn't really like it. Not sure what deer is like if similar to moose meat at all.

I just shot a doe this morning from my tree stand so I'll be doing this on my own

Do you do steaks or burgers in the thickness of that picture? It seems like every time I get deer meat, it's medallions. I like the taste, I just want a larger cut.

My father would take his deer to a local butcher who'd cut them into large thick steaks and make the rest into ground meat and ring bologna.

If it was Elk, then we would be talking.

Do you live in Thornton, Co, Casper, Wy or Billings, MT?

Same day October 21st those three locations are also going to be serving an Elk sandwich while supplies last.

"Arby's Elk Sandwich will be available on October 21 in THREE restaurants in the popular elk hunting states of Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. The very limited edition sandwich features a tender elk steak topped with a blackberry port steak sauce and crispy onions on a toasted roll.

It'll be offered at the following Arby's locations:

200 East 144th Ave., Thornton, Colorado 80023
2607 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming 82604
2834 King Ave. W, Billings, Montana 59102"

Eh I used to love venison when I ate red meat, but American pallets aren't going to try anything outside chicken, turkey, beef, and pork. There was one post when a person here threw up at the thought of eating lamb, game meat and fast food isn't going to win any red blooded Americans.

I can't imagine this isn't chewy as all high fucking hell. No way they are prepping line cooks on proper cooking times on this shit for a nationwide rollout for a single day. So it'll just get cooked like a burger.

Which means it'll be well done and like eating a tire.

I'm kind of interested in this even though there's a dead deer that's been sitting in our trash can for two weeks because my neighbor is a lazy, idiot.

When I think fast food I absolutely think "Hey how about some deer meat."
Gross.

Proper venison is excellent though.

I never eat at Arby's though. Do they open for breakfast? Can I order this at any time during the day?

Hey my birthday is on the 21! But I live in Sweden so someone should send me a venison sandwich to me on the same day ;)

I would love to try it out though

For what it's worth, one of the things I read about this said they'll be using sous vide to cook the venison. That should keep things from getting dried out too much.

I don't like venison and I am not going to try this, but hey.

I can eat deer, but its not my favorite.

Elk is great, so is bison ... But I've kind of been evolving my views on meat, so I eat a lot less than I used to. But, yeah, I had some fantastic fresh elk out in Wyoming, along with some other big game - and deer was also my least favorite.
