Nintendo Downloads - December 2011

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
Holy crap! Nintendo are finally learning! Resident Evil Revelations now has a game page up on the EU eShop, WITH S3D SCREENSHOTS!!! (yes, finally! An eShop page with actual 3D screenshots, hallefuckinglulia!)
Either been for a while now, or some recent titles got their screenshot sections updated, e.g. Freakyforms and Pullblox.

On an unrelated note, Freakyforms, Pullblox and Zen Pinball got updates.

Really good stuff, Mutant Mudds looks amazing. I actually think it's going to be another A title.
Speaking of Mutant Mudds, I ran across this interview recently.

Jools: First-time players will probably need about 8 hours to complete the game. Once you know what you're doing, you're looking at around 3 - 4 hours to complete each of the 40 levels.
8 hours? Probably an exaggeration but still Mutant Mudds sounds like it will be a pretty long game for a DD title.

Also this:

Jools: We already have a new smaller-scoped title in development for the eShop. A sequel to Mutant Mudds would be great, if the first game sells well enough. And we would love to revisit the first-person shooter genre in the future too.]

Renegade Kid already developing a second eShop game.

From the interview:
Will Max be able to do more stuff beside jumping and firing water?
Jools: Max has a jet-pack that allows you to hove across large gaps, which comes into play in a major way in later levels. Max also gains the ability to equip power-ups later in the game, enabling you to boost up high into the air, hover for longer distances, and blast away tough doors.
Mario Sunshine much? I mean the premise already seemed like a knock-off, but copying its late-game powerups as well? That just makes it seem even more blatant.

I am all over Mutant Mudds day 1.

Still vacillating on MSF. I wasn't very happy with Shantae DSi, got stuck on Mighty Flip Champs, and never purchased Mighty Milky Way. I like that the purchase price has dropped, but I just got Aliens Infestation, which seems like a much more interesting experience. And I'd probably be better off donating to MSF.

I just noticed the screenshots for Mighty Switch Force on the eshop are actually mpos. Hopefully all 3d games will do this now.

Mighty Switch Force is eligible for Product Registration survey so you can get 20 Club Nintendo Coins out of it.

That's it, the Wii Virtual Console is dead. It had a nice run, I suppose. I'm no longer going to expect anything. Perhaps then I won't be disappointed each Thursday.

Pretty much how I've come to handle it, as well. Just think it is dead for the Wii. I do have hope it is just being delayed so they have games to put on the Wii U, but with the Japan Wii VC still releasing games it makes me wonder if we'll see anymore at all, including for the Wii U.

RIP Pulstar & Blazing Star and arcade port of Donkey Kong. :(

And R.I.P. Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma (REALLY hoped NA would see this for the first time), Crystalis, Lufia 1, Lufia 2, Battle of Olympus, etc.

:(

Oh, so it'll be DLC for another $8. The game's probably going to be full of bugs too. Fuck off Nicalis.

Yeah, it sucks.

To be fair, though, the 3DS version lets you play levels created in the PC version. So, it's pretty much a nice on-the-go version -- and there won't be any shortage of content.

Gonna pass on VVVVVV, I've got too much stuff to get through for my consoles and my 3DS has been given a lot of love recently.

There's a nice series of trailers of upcoming 3DS downloads as well :D

The Pokedex page always had 3D screenshots. The eShop always supported it, it was just that every publisher (and even Nintendo) lazily uploaded 2D images so far.

WTF? The eShop no longer accept my debit cards. I didn't had this problem before. Does Nintendo no longer accept debit cards? I can't register them at the Android Marketplace either...

I have no problems on Steam (used them yesterday) or Paypall or the eShop before the update...

Lufia 1 got an ESRB rating. I'm guessing we'll at least get that and MMX2 in the next few months.

My debit card just worked. Maybe there's some region hijinks, is your card's billing address the same as your 3DS region?

We've gone 4 months since the last release already. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any more updates in NA period.

Wait... you can pay with debit cards? Can you pay with them in Canada too? I would check but my 3DS isn't with me.

Yes. As i said before, i used them on the system before the update, no problem.
If US, are you also in the correct state? I know some change that to avoid sales tax?

We'll get Mega Man X2 for sure. I know VC is fully deserving of doom and gloom, but it's frankly unrealistic that we won't get at least that (and some of the other announced games from Sega/Aksys/Capcom).

I've got 3100 Wii points to spend. Give some advice what to buy. I'm only interested in WiiWare titles and I already own Cubello, Lost Winds, Jett Rocket, and Orbient. I'm definitely getting Hydroventure (1200 points).

The bit.trip titles are no option as I'm getting the much cheaper disc version next year. The Telltale games are no option either.

I'd suggest Mega Man 9/10 (1000 points each), Konami's ReBirth Trilogy (1000 points each), Cave Story (1200 points), lighttrax (600 points) and/or hopefully soon La-Mulana (1200 points).

The Konami ReBirth games and Blaster Master Overdrive (1000) are great

Tomena Sanner and Muscle March are fun in a "This is really stupid" way, both are 500 points if that sort of thing is your bag.

EDIT- I do not suggest AYIM since theres no doubt you'd be able to get it cheaper on the PC in some indie bundle down the line.

AYIM is cheaper now in the Humble Bundle 4, since it includes Humble Bundle 3. Cave Story as well.

I can agree with 1/2 of your post haha

The Rebirth games were fabulous, though Contra was super easy.

Overdrive was a chore to finish. Hurt my hand control-wise too. Why did they put lock-strafe on the B button. Still pisses me off.

Muscle March was incredible for what it was, but do some research before buying it. Tomena Sanner is also something you might want to research before getting into it. Quirky and super short, but definitely hilarious. Both are great crowd games.

Mega Man 9 & 10

Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth

Cave Story

I already thought about LW2, I'm not too sure about it yet.

MegaMan/Castlevania are not really my cup of tea, I suck at such titles ;)

And Cave Story and AYIM I already own thanks to the humble bundle; I actually also have AYIM on my Wii as I won it. I also noticed that I've got World of Goo, almost forgot about it.

Blaster Master Overdrive does actually look interesting, I'll need to take a closer look at that one!

After browsing NintendoLife, I'm considering these:
Fluidity
FAST - Racing League (the demo was enjoyable)
Bonsai Barber
Light Trax
Penta Tentacles
Art of Balance

To a lesser extent
Lost Winds 2
Swords&Soldiers
EcoShooter
Actionloop Twist

I would also definitely buy Liight, but that's not out in my region.

What's your opinion on
Maboshi's Arcade
You, Me & the Cubes
WarioWare Showcase (-> more expensive than the actual DS game...)?

Bonsai Barber is awesome. Wow, it's been so long since I've played that game... I need to go back to it!

Maboshi's Arcade is pretty good. It's a collection of three puzzles games that are all pretty simple but very unique.
