Doing it wrong. Turn off SLI and dedicate 2nd GTX 570 to PhysX.
My results were with SLI enabled, disabling it and dedicating one card to physX caused gfwl ( wat ) to crash each time I started the game -> which in turn led to batman crashing every time.
edit : bruteforced the game to start sigh... even then gfwl crash but this time I could access the game at least, went from 68 fps ( 1080p this time instead of 2560x1440, for the sake of comparison ) with sli on to 58 with sli off and 1 card dedicated to physx, using the settings mentioned above. )

56 fps, dx11, everything max - physx normal, tessellation normal. Not really happy with the performance with those settings, really makes you think when the difference is like what, 100 fps or something compared to dx9 and no physx.

Playing the Steam version, and I'm a bit confused about the Catwoman stuff. I haven't seen anything since Catwoman first meets Poison Ivy. I thought the rest would be seamlessly place into the campaign but I feel like I'm well into the main story and haven't seen another one (I just finished the Mr. Freeze boss fight.)

I noticed absolutely no difference using one 580 for PhysX. Game pretty much runs the same as a single 580.
But I have pink riddler trophies to collect dammit

I came in here to ask about why I may be getting poor performance but it seems I'm not the only one, thank goodness. I'm also getting some weird lighting effect at lamps... Possibly from the lens flare. I'll take some screencaps next time I play.
I'm not sure if anyone can help here since its a language issue... But my Steam is in english and all my downloaded Steam games in the past were always in english after i bought them. Yet, for some reason Batman Arkham City is in french when i start it. WTF? Yes, my Windows 7 is in french, but that didnt stop me from getting all my Steam games in english in the past, so what gives? And i can't even find an option to change the language.

By region, you mean the download region? Yeah, i think i'll try to change it from Montreal - Canada to US - Boston and see if it change anything.
WTF, I just changed my gamertag to a name that I want (it gave me a randomized name) and I just fucking lost my save file?
I did some research and the save file is encrypted so I said ok and wanted to revert back to the name that was given to me and for that I now need to pay fucking 800 points which I don't even know how much that is in dollars but I ain't paying for that shit.

Hmm, I can't tell much difference between DX11 and DX9 mode for the game, except DX9 runs better. It's good fun to go gliding places, reminds me of Mario 64's flying, except with a grappling hook, too.
Also, does anyone have a good idea for a keyboard setup for quickfiring stuff and combat maneuvers? Having those on double tap 1-5 and E, R, T, and Y is a little unwieldy in the middle of a fight.

How did you change your gamertag in the first place? You would have run into the 800 point charge the first time around. Are you sure you didn't just make a new account and are now signed into a different profile?

Changing you gamertag is free the first time.
I didnt know changing your gamertag would fuck up the saves though....thats just stupid as stupid gets.
dx11 won't work fine in outside area with any cards.
i got 2x570 and my friend got 2x580 but we get the same drops in the outside area.
i'd say go for dx9 everything full no physx if you want pure 60 fps.
I didn't even realize it until reading your comment, but I am indeed missing some achievements. Serial Killer, AR Knight and Brainteaser all aren't showing up for me even though I've done them.

Damn. I don't think I can say no to HBAO though. It looks too pretty to pass up.
It's frustrating how hard performance is hit. The game looks gorgeous, but its not like I get such bad performance from a game like, say, DX11 Crysis 2 with the HD texture pack. DX11 certainly doesn't seem as well optimised as I hoped.
I turned tessellation down to normal and received a performance spike, but overall performance is still really spotty.

Also, the game's AA options look fair shit in my opinion. At least, CSAAx16Q looks fair shit. Doesn't clean up the image anywhere near as well as some other games.

Performance seem fine to me. But definitely don't use CSAAx16Q.

Dennis is right, use CSAA 32x for maximum possible in game AA. Combine it with SMAA (or one of those goofy FXAA) injector for maximum AA/image quality.
I was just about to say the same thing. I guess I should use an injector. I don't see any noticeable difference if I make set the AA above MSAA x4.

I don't think they ever did, most people just assumed that when the Steam version details leaked it was Steamworks. I saw a forum mod and some other GMG staff even say it was non-Steam copies they were getting (sadly on the forums if you didn't look for it).

I cut down the AA to MSAAx2 and got a pretty huge performance boost. In fact, even with tessellation and physx on high, and everything else maxed, it appears that the AA was killing performance more than anything.
It still hitches every now and that, but I'm putting that down to shoddy DX11 support and usual UE3 quirks.
