Classic AVB:

He does talk a load of bollocks, not just here but in every interview. The man is a windbag.

Surely Cahill will start at CB? If he'd rather bring Ferreira in than shift Inavonic to right back then there's something wrong with his brain.
Firstly on your classic AVB comments. Classic indeed, I don't want him sacked or anything, but I would love him to shut up.

You see if it were me, I'd play Ivan - Luiz - Cahill - Bertrand. But this is AVB, so he will probably play, Paulo - Ivan - Luiz - Bosingwa. Maybe, just maybe if he sees a tiny bit of sense, he'll go, Ivan - Luiz - Cahill - Bosingwa. But he wont, he'll go all out for the first of his two crap options.

Bah, I have a feeling he won't start Essien, won't use Cahill, will start Malouda, will put Bosingwa over Bertrand, bah....the guy is killing us :[

Man on a Ledge? Sounds terrible. It's all going according to plan ;) I'll get my remote back!

I never left ;D

Post then -_-

Later guys.

Andy Carroll pretty much still lives in Newcastle. Was playing in goal last night on the 3g pitches in Gosforth (as well as spotted partying in town).

He's either tactically inept or a super genius. Not sure which, I think maybe the first one. I'll still happily give him a few seasons to get his squad in order.

I've been going through a very busy period bro...and Chelsea/Barcelona's latest matches haven't helped lift the mood. Heard Man on a Ledge was alright. Hope you enjoy it. Congrats as well on being on top with a game on hand. Best feeling in the sports world. BTW with all our interesting youngsters I'd rather seem them all start a game at once lol. Even if we lose I bet they may play more interesting "attacking" football.

Likewise, I think the former is more fitting. Remember how in the beginning of the season he seemed much more of a tactical genius? He made better subbings, better starting lineups, he timed his subs well, etc.

The problem with the England captaincy is most of them are:

Rio - insufferable cunt
Terry - insufferable cunt
Steeeeeevie Geeeee- insufferable cunt
Lampard - fat
Basically this, each fan supports the particular player from their team and hates the other candidates, but why you gotta bully Frank? :lol. Personally, I wouldn't object to seeing Joe Hart get it.

I just realised that there is a decent prospect of Newcastle going level on points with Chelsea after this weekend.

At the start of this season, i would have been satisfied with a top 10 finish and no threat of relegation. However, now I am expecting some type of European football next season.

It is way too soon for the Champions League for us, and i think that would actually be detrimental to what Pardew is doing, but Europa league would definitely help us attract a better quality of player in the off season.

I am loving football again after a few years of really dreading the weekends. I haven't been this optimistic since Sir Bobby had us top of the table.

Any other Magpies fans as excited as me? Or are the recent scars still too raw?

"WE GANNIN' T'WIN THE LEEEEEEEEEEEEGE, man!"

That's what other fans are waiting for us to say anyway so they flog the 'deluded Geordie' cliché again!

Well there is only really one set of fans that are more deluded than us when it comes to believing they are going to win the Premier League.

Liverpool

The problem is that in the Premier League era, we have come closer more often than them

I wasn't following football when we were bottom of the table and eventually relegated. So to me, Newcastle was always one of the best teams in the country. Unfortunately our squad today doesn't really hold a candle to the glory years of Shearer/Ferdinand/Ginola/Lee etc so I don't expect much from the club. A European spot for next season would be fantastic as I'm still a huge fan and would like to see us get far in something.

The problem with Newcastle is that even with our best squad we still can't win anything. So I don't expect us to win a tournament/league with a weaker squad today which keeps me from being overly disappointed.

:( if only you were a misogynist, you could take control. Never fear, I'm sure a film with Sam Worthington will be good one day.

Missing the match this weekend again, fuck work.

I'm really excited as well. European Football is just what we need to really boost the spirits of everyone. Champions League would be a bonus but one I do not expect. Let's just focus on finishing in the top 6/7.

And my friend thought I was crazy for backing Pardew this season; he thought he was the first to get the sack...

Pulis says priority is to get 40 points asap. He also believes #SAFC will be @OfficialSCFC toughest at the Brit this season.

There you go, HixxSAFC. Better not disappoint.

Thanks to whoever posted the Football Ramble podcast in here. Been listening quite a bit.

Rio is a clown, but i don't think hes in the same league as Terry on the twat stakes. There's nothing sinister about Rio, not compared to that filthy worm of existence John Terry, who for a few years now has proven himself to be an utter dribbling genetic waste. Gerrard is a dickhead as well but again, not as bad as Terry.

I don't know (or care) who id have as England captain. Have a competetion in the team to see who can be the loudest chest thumping moron in the team, and who can patronise the nation the most with talk of Three Lions pride.

The other players can help but that can only be while he's with them at training. What he does the rest of the time is not Kevin Nolan's responsibility or any other senior player unless they form friendships. Kevin, for example, looked after Andy Carroll, and to a lesser extent Joey Barton, at Newcastle United because they became friendly.

We are on fire at the moment. Though I'd take a draw now if it meant we would beat Boro on wednesday as I think we could do Arsenal at home (twice in a week if we go through). If only football worked like that.

Got a feeling Stoke will be the first team to beat us by more than 1 goal though, I really don't like the way we defend corners even if we rarely concede from them.

Bro your teas has been playing some AMAZING football. Beautiful goals in the last 2 games!!!

By lately I meant last 2 months.

Just puts things into perspective for me. That Arsenal and Chelsea fans bemoan their current situation, quickly forgetting where they have come from. Shouldn't be surprised that football is a fickle environment, but hey, there we go.

Not a complete shot at you, by the way.

Her name is Raffaella Fico. She's Italian I think so they share common interests etc, they go home to Italy for short breaks and stuff.

Maybe Mario is not such a baller as we think :p

Maybe she likes money and cameras all over her.

Ever since M'ON took over we have been scoring ridiculous goals every other game but all 3 against Norwich were top class, even though the 3rd was an own goal the build up was, dare I say it, Swansea-esque. :p

It's relative though, you can't expect people to not complain about the current affairs of the their club because of how things used to be, particularly when they've been strong for going on 10 or so years. I see what you're getting at though, there's a terrible sense of entitlement within some people. Chelsea boards have taught me that much.

Yeah, it's official that our second kit is black! Fucking LOVE IT :D

BetClic is going to ruin that first kit and kill all our hopes again.

As far as I know BetClic won't be our main sponsor for the 2012/2013 season. We had a 2-year contract with them, which expires this summer. No idea who the new sponsor will be. People in the know are saying Goodyear, but who knows.

Better quality pics:

And it looks like we're FINALLY going back to the black square on the back, should look something like this:

Also, on the inside of the neckline the following quote will be printed: "Vincere non e' importante, e' l'unica cosa che conta." (Winning isn't important, it is the only thing that counts.)

I see what you're saying; I understand what the club used to be like. My complaints are simple though - given the squad they have, they simply have been playing very dull football for the past 2 months. Just ask any Chelsea fan these days. Their mediocrity is stunning.

You'd be among the top 2 if you started with M'ON :D Well deserved - and unlike Swansea, at least you do well home AND away. Good stuff.

In case you misunderstood me, I don't feel any sense of entitlement about Chelsea. I only feel nothing but disappointment about how dull they play - particularly in attack. They brought AVB to help Chelsea with attractive football? It's unfortunate that he is possibly the only manager in the last decade to give Chelsea a dull football style. Funny cause at the start of the season, including that loss to United, I felt nothing but satisfaction with our attacking style.

Might be worth sticking the new thread up a bit early, rather than in the middle of the games over the weekend?

Yeah, will do it tonight after work.

Any further suggestions for the tagline? Some options so far:

|OT6| doicare about injuries?
|OT6| Wild for Wilde
|OT6| The absolute worst thing you can say about this thread is it's in the top 5 on GAF
|OT6| Factually Wrong Opinions

If it fits, that. No Wilde references, its getting tedious. She looks like a bloke in drag. A pretty one, but still.
