Football/Fútbol/Fussball/Calcio Thread 11/12 |OT5| Manchester Fragrance: Channel N°5

I honestly think the focus on 'distribution' is amusingly overstated. Not in Hart's case, specifically, but the importance many place on such an attribute. I hear people going on about Reina's distribution as if it's godly, and from what I've seen it's good, but given the impact keeper distribution has on games, meh.

What's better:

- GK holding the ball for 6 seconds allowing the opposition to reorganise/mark
- GK looking forward and initiating a counter attack within 3 seconds of touching the ball, forcing the opposition into recovery runs while they defend while unorganised/outnumbered?

If thats an issue, ill just stop with it altogether. Its not really a problem. :p

We all know that Jeff lives in an absolute babe hotspot and strolls around like a player in his beast blue and white sex top.

Must be boring being surrounded by beautiful women and then have to endure even more coming into this thread. I feel for the man.

Barton is ranting on Twitter about John Terry, telling him to "take his punishment like a f***ing man" :lol.

Was just about to mention that, think this one could snowball out of control.

And Stan Collymore just tweeted, "I think when a court case is pending, current players have a responsibility to not potentially influence a future jury. Fair's fair."

And Jimmy Rice just wrote, referencing one of Joey's tweets, "Never listen to a man who writes 'Should of'."

:lol

Wow, such brilliant options. More like:

- GK looking forward and initiating a counter attack within seconds of touching the ball, only for it to peter out and end at the feet of one of the centre-backs, or result in a fruitless 3 on 1 defenders v attacker situation, or over the sideline for an opposition throw in.

That's much more likely. All I said was it was overstated. Your second option is played out perhaps once or twice a game.

Heh, I was just about to mention Collymore's tweet!

He's spot on. Some players have made elusive comments about the case (like Rio) but Barton shouldn't be commenting on it so explicitly. It's still an ongoing case and shouldn't be in the public spotlight to that extent.

It's funny though, pretty sure Terry said he wanted the chance to clear his name as soon as possible. He's then gone on to ask for a delay in the proceedings.

Few people suggesting it's been done because the evidence against Terry is strong. Problem is if he is found guilty by the courts what exactly is his punishment going to be anyway? A fine is utterly pointless.

Nice retweeting Viva on Twitter. Quite baffled myself how Joey isn't infringing the Contempt of Court Act, should what he just expressed have been published it would no doubt be contempt. And because Joey is a public figure expressing his opinions in a public fashion, his tweets do create a substantial risk of serious prejudice.

To be frank, I haven't taken your footballing opinions seriously since your laughable "FUUUUUU Keane" period which, thankfully, you've seemed to forgotten about.

I remember seeing you say Hart wasn't world class recently, and then I remember myself laughing.
KuGsj.gif
Hart is world class, and by that I mean he'd be seriously looked at by all the big clubs in Europe if he was up for sale. He's not perfect, and does make the occasional error (hasn't made one for 3 or 4 months though), but he's in the top tier of keepers.

His weaknesses have been parrying and urgency, but he's got that worked out now.

Lol

Kean is a bad manager any fan of any team he managed would moan I imagine, he isn't going anywhere though. There's not many fans who wouldn't criticise their manager when he took them from 8th when he joined to rock bottom id wager.

As for Hart im not sure but having said that I can't think of many top level keepers at present so maybe I am criticising him too much. I would call Defoes goal a bit of an error he made it far too easy for him.

Ps I know you love and respect me really. I've even been nice about you in your absence you may talk whack sometimes but are generally gracious in defeat and whatnot

Oh it's true go out in Blackburn and its like the people who weren't classy enough to get on Jeremy Kyle (mrs Jeff excluded)

It was just my thoughts on it anyways if people like the girlie pics I have no problem

All he is going to get is a fine. I don't think he is too worried about that. He's probably looked at it from a footballing perspective. The sooner the trail ends, if he is found guilty, the FA can then proceed to ban him. Might sound cynical but Chelsea need him quite badly in the run-in, think he and they would rather him serve a ban at the start of next season rather than in the coming weeks.

So what can actually be done about this? Should we expect Twitter to delete those tweets of his? One of those current topics isn't it, how the law works in social medias like Twiitter/Facebook.

I don't think the delay has anything to do with him. They pleaded not guilty, isn't this just how these things go?

I actually agree with you anyway. The whole women thing was a bit over done BUT who doesn't like the women on Jeremy Kyle?

Pretty sure Chelsea wrote to the courts asking for the delay.

Amazing mate, thanks so much. I'd love a full frame one too but if it's too much hassle don't worry about it.

I don't have any hard feelings towards Sunderland or yourself anymore, even though you collectively broke my heart! :lol

In the law exams that I just recently took, anyone producing or reproducing media reports that could create a substantial risk of serious prejudice to active proceedings, ie the Terry trial, would be in contempt of court.

This is a serious offence in and of itself, and could cause Terry's legal team to ask for a retrial, or even for the case to be abandoned if he feels such comments could've prejudiced the jury and caused an unfair trial. Terry's case could go to the Crown Court and as such the comments could be prejudicial so I expect Twitter to take the tweets down, or for QPR to put pressure on Joey to delete them to avoid further legal trouble, which may already be done.

Unfortunately my law exams do not specifically cover how comments on Twitter are dealt with, so I'm only speaking hypothetically, in which I'm imagining a tweet from Joey Barton to be as much a media report as say a column in a newspaper.

:lol

Barton said:
I'll probably get a letter now from "the powers that be." If you're reading this don't bother.........

Twitter are notoriously hands off when it comes to these situations, and I cannot recall an instance where they deleted tweets in similar circumstances.

Barton should shut up though. I almost feel a little sorry for Terry here.

Brendan Rodgers won manager of the month for January, wtf? O'Neill got 10 points, incl. beating City + Swansea compared to them getting 7 points

a disgrace and more fuel to my pure irrational hatred of Swansea

The only way anybody could feel sorry for John Terry is if they were oblivious to other events involving him in the past.

You sure? It's not that I don't believe you, I just don't follow the case really. And it seems weird the club could just ask for it to be delayed.

Think it was something along the lines of Chelsea not being able to release other witnesses for the case (Chelsea players) until the season is over.

You know the worst thing about it?

I remember the episode! Working from home I just can't help myself but watch

Me and the missus are the same. Tell each other how bad the show us yet happily sit down and watch it.

holy shit. Totally delivered a epic GIF.

And wb Kermit! Please don't go away again any time soon. These guys gave me a dogs life!

Evra says someone has probably put a "voodoo spell" on United given all the injuries but says it's in the club's culture not to make excuses
You listening doicare?!

Fergie says Rooney is "close" for Sunday, Young is "ready" and that Nani has an outside chance. He also said we've taken Veseli only until the end of the season and we'll see how he does until then, interesting.

Also, time for us to start hyping our next youngster, Januzaj. He didn't play in our last youth cup game and Fergie said that was "huge blow". Guess where he plays guys...CM =)

Yeah, I noticed that. Much of it was mean-spirited and unfair. There'll be none of that with me around.

Shogun, I'm aware of his supposed past transgressions, but whether I believe the veracity of each accusation is another story.

It was in The Sunday Times too about a week ago, Duncan Castles said he's 100% coming back.

Time for me to become mr unpopular but can we cut out the girlie pics next thread? If I wanted to look at average looking women id turn on babsestation or drive to Liverpool

Yeah I agree with this, tired of coming into this thread and all I see is gifs/images of girls.
