Binary Domain Demo Impressions (JP - Out Now, US/EU - Feb 15 2012)

It's not THAT difficult to go back. The PC is still an inconsistent place for me. For everything game that runs flawlessly I run into one that has strange framerate issues (where 60 fps according to FRAPS doesn't look like 60 fps). Still, nothing beats great image quality mixed with 60 fps (when it all works together).

I'm hoping the PS3 version of BD runs better in the end, however. The footage on Gamespot is much more consistent than the demo, for instance.

*brofive*

Now to find that gamespot demo

i cant see the 360 version using 4xMSAA.
Doesn't Dirt 3 use it and its razor sharp with no jaggies.
BD runs great on 360 but its looks a little crunchy.

Anyway the more I play it the more Im hooked.
Really looking forward to it. I wonder if there are any vehicle
levels. In the trailer there a car chase and jet skis.

You are my favorite new member because of your username.
Just FYI.
HA, thanks Aeana!!!

Is there a date set for the US demo? I have both japanese demos but I would
Like the English version.

I still think the PS3 version looks sharper - the 360 has some jaggies but
runs smoothly.

Thought the demo was alright.

The art direction and aesthetic is pretty solid, and the shooting felt nice.

I think the story/voice work will make or break this game for me.

Whoa...did you see the low user rating on the demo? Do the Japanese dislike TPS? Did Gears Or Vanquish sell well there?

Gears of War from what I remember wasnt as popular as U.S but it had decent sales. Vanquish simply bombed overall.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
I'm looking forward to playing with the Robo teammate. That's a pretty cool idea.

Christ, I really wanted to champion Vanquish and Binary Domain as two new purchases for my very small PS3 library. But I'm not going to take the lesser game when I have the option not to. Why did Sony set-up their memory-threading (or whatever it is which usually causes inferior PS3 ports) in a weird way?

Glad to see the US demo is coming soon.
I've tried using voice-commands in the JPN demo and I dunno it's kinda weird. I'll say something in English and the team-mates respond in Japanese. It's like the entire time I'm wondering if I'm doing something right or wrong.

Man, is this going to have to be another game on my radar? From the impressions, sounds like another left fielder...*

Although jGAF went crazy over Yakuza games, and they were really not at all what they were hyped up to be. Middling at best, although I haven't played the last few Yakuza games...

I was pleasantly surprised, but the framerate from the PS3 demo left little to be desired. So much in fact that if those issue plague the full release I'll skip it all together.

The frame rate looked okay to me. I don't understand why sega would show the
PS3 version if it chugged a bit. Why not just show the 360 version, the demo was smoother.
I still think the 360 version didn't look as sharp as the PS3 tho.

Either way the game looks bad ass. Too bad Sega is releasing this so close to Mass Effect 3
It will get lost.

yeah weird! and i am also pretty sure the game reviews in Japan were based on the PS3 ver.
i don't know why they didn't separate scores between the two ver like what they did with Bayonetta.

and i have to disagree, to me the 360 ver looked sharper.... even the rain effect is better! sure it's the lead platform.

Man, the PS3 version looks worse and worse. Might end up waiting it out to see if a bomba results in a PC version if this is the case. Sucks for me. :/

DLed and burned the 360 demo to a DVD then ran it ....yeah, so much smoother. Can't wait for the US demo so I can actually understand the voice command stuff lol

looks like the game comes out this tuesday in germany, cant wait to play the full version. really liked the demo.

i just uploaded a small video showing rain effects comparison between the two versions
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssu8F3B8wP0

even though i am recording using my camera it clearly shows the 360 ver superiority

Dude you are right!
Thanks, Im going with the 360 version!!!!

Except on the jaggies, look at this, the PS3 is sharper
http://andriasang.com/comzv8/binary_domain_comparison/
Look at the arm comparison...

maybe its like the game Split Second. The PS3 version was sharper but
the 360 had better effects overall.

I'm playing the JP demo. On the first available mission, how do you beat the gigantic mech with the machine guns? I keep firing and firing and it never goes down. It seems like the teammates are waiting on a command, but I can't read but the kanji-less ones.

Climb to the top of the stairs and fight it from above. Keep an eye out for button prompts once you weaken it.
