Sony's OS designers really are useless:
- you can't backup your saves
- you can't have multiple profiles
- no Android apps, instead Sony wants the Vita OS on their phones, wtf
- no PSX games
- half of the PSP games don't work
- can't see Vita people from PS3 (and vice versa?)
- games playable on both PS3 and PSVITA, give you double trophies, wtf
I'm positive that most of those will be addressed. Android has been available on phones for years now and there are STILL tons of issues to be worked out.
I was under the impression saves could be backed up on a PC or PS3, though. Perhaps not?
I don't want Android shit (that marketplace is a joke) cluttering up the system BUT I can totally see the appeal and there are definitely some apps I would love to have.
PSX and other PSP games will be added for certain and they will definitely fix the PS3/Vita online issue. I can see PS3 friends online on my Vita, though, and PS3 people can see my Vita (I've received some texts demonstrating that even). The issue is that you can't see what people are playing on PS3 if you are using a Vita just that they are online.
Despite those issues, the OS is extremely fast and responsive (high framerate and all) and many of its features are well designed. It's far and away the best operating system ever to grace a dedicated games console. Are you really surprised it can't fully match up to mature mobile phone platforms? They actually got a lot closer than I expected.
And this is the BEST implimentation of Zone yet, DEM GRAPHIX!!!
Very true. One of the small touches that really helps the zone is the ship design. In previous Zone modes I believe they would stick you with ugly, chunky looking ships that seemed out of place. Here, you get to stick with the same visual style as the ships used in normal racing and it feels better as a result. They simply LOOK faster.
