Playing the demo, I was wondering why the music seem so familar and epic which turns out to be done by Kohei tanaka which is awesome.

From toyama twiiter

it has over 3000 ratings on PSN

I envy you guys that already access to Gravity Rush. I attempted to buy it from the HK store but I learned (afterwards) that it is no longer possible to purchase from there using a US credit card (but I was still charged a $1 transaction fee -_-).

Word of mouth must be making the game sell on PSN, otherwise the used market would have damaged any post launch sales potential.

Sony need a better way to make people rate stuff. something like if the rating screen pops out automatically after you playing the game for the first time. like how when you play a game for the first time, ps3 ask if you want to activate cloud saving for the game if you're plus member. I bought a lot of stuff from psn and never actually rate them.

Yeah, I don't rate my PSN stuff. Just like how I don't rate YouTube videos and such.

Still, nice to see Gravity Daze get many ratings and still stay above a 4.9/5.

I have a feeling this game is going to be to the Vita what Demon Souls was to the PS3, i.e. a niche game that will be spammed everywhere on GAF whenever someone uses "Vita", "game", and a question mark in a sentence. Giving rise to a group of people hating on it because stand one more person talking about it.

... Or not. Who knows.

I started off as a complete spaz while trying the demo today, but I rapidly improved as it went along. This game is gorgeous, and I can see myself just flying around and exploring instead of doing story missions.

I am trying to stop myself from importing this due to lack of japanese knowledge. However, this only adds to my frustration with Sony for holding the release of a finished game that I personally want to play more than any of the launch titles.

Those of you that don't know Japanese, yet imported anyway and those of you that know japanese and have played the game.. is experiencing the story worth the wait (however long that may be) vs enjoying the gameplay sooner?

I fall in the former category, and I still had a lot of fun playing through the game trying to guess the story.

I did the same when I played through SRW Z2.

It is certainly not unheard of for me to do that.. I did play through the japanese release of Grandia III on PS2 just because the gameplay was awesome.. but $88 for a JP version seems like a steep price premium to pay for a game that will sell for $40-50 here..

If cash is an issue then yeah, I'd hold off on importing and just play some of your other Vita launch games.

3000 ratings is ALOT, specially since they're region dependent so that's 3000 just for the Japanese store.

For reference GT5 DLC had around 700 and those sold 1 million + world wide.

It's not that cash is an issue.. it's more "Is this game worth the price of 2 other games to play now vs waiting"

If the answer is yes, then I'll likely place an order for it this week.

Honestly, I'd get two other games and wait unless you must experience it now. The game took me 17 hours to platinum and beyond that, there's not much else to do besides competing for online leaderboard rankings.

Yep. Even considering that rating is a little more accessible on Vita, I'm pretty sure it has easily passed 15.000 or 20.000 downloads.

I don't remember the japanese players being too proud of digital games so that looks pretty huge to me, specially for a full priced game.

If I had the cash maybe this game would be the final push to learning some Japanese :D

DLC release date coming today, according to Toyama's twitter.
Where's the OT, btw.?

Ok, it seems that the DLC information will be coming out on Friday, instead of today. Boo.

Is there any indication what the DLC support for the game will be like? I ask because I want the game boxed so I'm planning to import it from the US, which will mean I don't get the DLC, but if the DLC is so good, I'll skip on the boxed version and just buy the UK one on PSN.

IIRC, there will be some story DLC and probably some challenges or something.

Walmart has demo vita's up in America and Gravity Rush is a demo on it. The thing feels AWESOME. I seriously predict this game mechanic to be the next big deal that should be used for gameworlds. The whole of the environment felt awesome, the animations made you really feel the sensation of floating, falling, jumping, and flying. It felt like being a child having a dream about flying through the city.

Truly wonderful experience gang. You should all get this and play the demo.

Also tried to demo recently. Game looked FANTASTIC.

Truly mind blowingly good compared to everything else that was on the demo kiosk.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
The demo totally blew my mind, so if the full version is way better, I really can't wait until May. :|

I really need to resist the urge to import.

I always knew this game would be something special since way back in January 2011 when we saw 15 seconds of it. SCEJ doesn't make a lot of games, but when they do they make some really special ones.

They surely give creators more freedom and respect than other developers.

But SCEJ really needs to step up and bring back their heyday of PS1. Remember those crazy games like elemental gearbolt and omega boost?
