The Light of El Cantare
Just saw the Palutena short. Other than the head tilt, you'd never be able to tell it was SHAFT. VA was atrocious, which is surprising considering that they somehow got Ali Hillis to voice Palutena. Talk about phoning it in.

Did you watch it on the 3DS with headphones or on youtube with someone's shitty offcam?

Ooooooh, you're talking about the first one? I'm talking about the sequel actually. lol
I have never seen the first one, although I hear that goes off the rails at the end as well.
The ending to the original show is confusing and definitely gets weird, but I loved the show anyway. It's a very good series, it really is.

Everything starting with the
peace conference
really. It's just a horrible way to build up to a character who is
supposed to be an anti-hero instead of a villain.
For me, that change came way too late and asking me to even consider sympathizing with him is fairly insulting.
... By 20 I meant 18, since the two .5 episodes really don't count as full-number episodes. Are there 21 eps total, or more? Apparently Japan's up to ep. 20 now, and it's not quite over yet.

But yeah, for ep. 18, some stuff in that episode was too stupid for words, I agree. I don't care
how "good" his motivations are, the degree of evil he's doing to accomplish them CLEARLY outweighs that! It's just nearly impossible to believe that the older princess would believe him that completely, given what he's done and has her do.
Just absurd. And then that ending, where
she gets killed sacrificing herself to save him
... oh come on. So stupid and
pointlessly depressing. She could have been a good character, but instead she was stupid to the end... it's sad. :(

Ep. 19
tries to explain why she joined his side, but really, it doesn't help much. She's still really stupid for deciding to help him, and becoming so dedicated to him by the end. I certainly agree with you that I cannot see any way to justify defending his cause. There's part of a point buried in there somewhere, but the flaws, and massacres, are so awful that the truth of the plan should be fairly obvious to the outside observer. I have no idea why she can't see it, except that otherwise the plot wouldn't be depressing enough or something. I mean, there must have been some other way of him to get her power, had she resisted...

Overall I do like Last Exile Fam, but I think that despite the optimistic leads, the show as a whole is maybe even darker and bleaker than the first show. Maybe it's similar -- the original show certainly had it's share of tragic stuff -- but it often does seem like more this time... that's not a change I like. (original Last Exile spoilers)
Like, lots of people died in the first season, but I don't remember much like Liliana's death here, in terms of a plot-important character dying in such a stupid way... it would have if Mullen or maybe Dio had died, but neither of them did in the end. And Alex, of course, dies defeating one of the main villains. Luciola maybe? I don't know though, he's Guild...
So yes, I think Fam is the more depressing series, despite the more optimistic lead. So yeah, I like Fam the character, but dislike the too dark tone of the show.

The question is, how long will that video be available? I was gonna buy a 3DS anyway for this game but might as well buy one like...tomorrow.
How does nintendo make these videos available to watch?

There's so much dissonance between Fam and the rest of the show that it's crazy. She's Ai Tanabe, but a billion times more annoying - mostly because of what they have done to the story/world.

It's too bad, because they hockey scene way back in episode 10 or whenever was really enjoyable for me. It made the whole thing personal and kept everything to a small, believable scale. Now it's just absurd, especially given what they have done.

Shinkai would be proud.

Watanabe shows his mastery of direction in this tender and atmospheric relationship drama. The compositions are attractive and great attention is paid to the use of lighting and making the movements of the characters expressive. The voice acting is not as expressive, and it is the one weak point. What really makes the short is Watanabe's use of music, not only Yoko Kanno's score but also the use of Chopin's Etude in E Major, first stated in a hesitating, incomplete form at the opening and fully realized at the end. Together with an imaginative visual transformation, it makes the final scene magical.
.

Good man. Baby Blue is the reason I have such faith in Apollon though many would consider it a departure from his norm, stylistically speaking. And to comment on your critique of the VA, I thought the performances to be an understated elegance of sorts, taking the viewer from what they expect of the medium, and grounding them in the context done all too frequently, but hardly ever done with such tact or solemnity. It's that oddity that jars initially, but once I got over that, got into realism, and really fell into the groove I think it was going for, the VA felt much more natural than it did bad.

It rings of the same philosophy with which Watanabe approached Jin in the JP track of Samurai Champloo. Ginpei Sato was chosen against the larger will of the production crew, ultimately, (And I parahprase) because Watanabe actually dug his unusually blunt, intonation-less delivery; saying that Jin wasn't your generic nihilistic pretty boy, and with him he'd sound 'fresh' and natural. It worked great in the end there, and I'm hoping he expands upon the concept with Apollon.

I need a 3DS. Are these only available for a limited time?

and how does SHAFT make headtilts so goddamn moe?

Blood-C 1-2

This is boring the shit out of me. The animation's janky at times, CLAMP is the bane of my existence, and why is Saya singing?

That was such an awkward date. Whatever, let's just get this over with.

I really didn't want to bother with season 2, but apparently it's going to star Hiroshi Kamiya, Tomokazu Sugita, AND Daisuke Ono? God damn my seiyuu addiction...

Dear war-chest-digging Nintendo,

Please do similar studio-commissioning promotions for FE: Awakening and mandate that they get as close to all that glorious Kozaki as possible. I will buy it on the Eshop. Itunes. And blu-ray.

Yours Truly, Miri.

Choose your waifu

They turned Australia into a prison continent of sorts, as all the representatives were once criminalized for various reasons. I'm super excited for this game, and I tried the demo, it's definitely mechanically solid and pretty fun as well. It's sad to admit but it's one of the games I've really been looking forward to playing this year.
Also Kamehameha is mai waifu

It's awesome how they even have jiggly boobs there.

They are gonna ask the studio that animates Pokémon to do a cross-promotion for FE and you are gonna like it.
I'm not. I want this game too and it's not very long until it comes out. Its not like the 3DS is an expensive thing.

Holy
Shit

What an incredible trio of episodes to end. So much wonderful back and forth, so much backstabbing. Everyone had anticipated everyone else's moves in advance save for Dr. Hell's true motivation. Any concerns I had about the series having a wavering quality towards the middle were swept away here as every last bit of this show was handled with such care.

I'll commend the decision to make the first episode from pieces of the 24 and 25. It's an instant hook, every character is put into play immediately, and it gives the audience a sense of anticipation as to what was being built towards. I thought the pacing of the show was a bit wonky at times given how many episodes were devoted to the first night but I think I see them now as smaller arcs to put everything into motion for that finale. They did it right too, giving away just enough but leaving room to surprise the viewer once the time to finally watch this arrived.

What Kenzo did to the Mycenaeans was rather horrific but Ashura's history (and destiny) was moreso although entirely engaging. What Dr. Hell did to Tristan and Iseult was grotesque and I felt a lot of sympathy for Ashura and the shame it endured at being a mockery of a human. It's easily the best character though and the ending cemented this series as being its story. It was fantastic to see my perception of it change from whiny inept lapdog to tragic character to someone that finally took control and embraced its destiny.

I've no problems with the ending either. It fit well with the "one step ahead" motif the show embraced, it provides a launching point if this is ever revisited, and it came after Ashura's enidng. Going forward with it in this series wouldn't have set well with me as the most important piece would have been missing.

So fucking good.

Watch it be a JPN Club Nintendo Bluray release.
Considering I also have SNP and SNP 2 for Wii, I guess you could say I dig this style of game.

Game is out Friday, yo.

Also, choose your color system wisely for you shalt be judged. When you get it, go on the eShop and download Nintendo Video, leave your wireless on, close the lid and wait a couple mins, and bam!, it'll be there.

Well, we've had entire episodes devoted to character drama but as the show wraps up now we apparently need to devote time to
forced alien drama and lots of chase sequences. Oh well, it's not like there wasn't some character stuff in there as well but
I can't say that I'm a huge fan of that approach but they pull if off about as well as anyone could. The pacing for this series is extremely impressive.

Oh and for Kanna
she will truly be forever alone. HA.

Fun premise. Lackluster fight. You know something is wrong when the henshin soundtrack loops during the animation >.>"

They need to churn out more movies and shit for budget.
