For anyone who read the script, did they change anything?

I liked the twist/ending, but hated all the characters. Given the buzz, kinda gutsy ending it how they do -- don't know how they'll pull off a sequel.

Saw an early showing last month and it was amazing. The twist is unbelievable. ;)
Definitely worth a watch for anybody on the fence.

I didn't like the ending, but I did read part of the script and there were only minor changes.

I wanted to want to see this movie, but I'll be damned if there isn't so much revealed in the trailers. Unless Whedon crammed a shit ton of other plot twists and surprises into the movie, I'm going to be disappointed with the film's marketing.

Seeing this on Saturday. Way excited.

PLUS The Raid is hitting my theater, gonna try to see it Saturday too. But I doubt it, too actiony for the girl I'm seeing.

It's not the best thing ever, but it was much better than I thought it was going to be. I am not a horror fan at all. The third act was pretty cool and I was surprised with the direction it went.

The trailers/commercials purposely leave out a lot of stuff that you just need to see.

I watched the movie at work tonight and came away disappointed. I was incredibly excited for the film based on the great early buzz, but the film got too wacky at the end. Tonally, it didn't perfect the balance of horror and comedy. If anything, the movie makes me appreciate Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy even more. There's definitely an audience that will absolutely love The Cabin in the Woods, but I have a feeling mainstream audiences will absolutely hate it. The box office numbers won't be pretty.

Just got back from the midnight showing.

I enjoyed it. There's a ton of "WTF?!" moments that leave the viewer asking/wondering
what's going on and that's the hook of the movie. It plays with our perceptions of horror films as well as the cliches inherent in most of them.

Now will you be able to figure out the ending? I can usually "call" an ending on a movie as many of you can probably do also. This one-no. :) However, if you pay very close attention to the dialogue and the setup you can probably piece together a good hint.......anyways...

The ending is complete, utter madness and a pretty amazing pay off. :)

Did you feel like the trailers gave away too much? or were there still surprises to be had?

excluding the ending i mean.

Plenty of surprises to be had. The trailers are ingenious because many people think they're giving away "secrets". Is it a secret if they show you the force field? ;)

Que? I thought this was supposed to be just a straight up horror film. Is it at least as good as Drag Me to Hell? I really enjoyed that in terms of recent comedy-horrors.

I love horror movies, especially older ones. Too bad most of them today are utter garbage. I liked Invidious though, it was good. Also haters gonna say what they want but Blair Witch Project is one of the best horror movies I've seen.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this, color me excited.

I don't think the movie was ever billed as a "horror/comedy" ala "The Evil Dead". This is pretty much a straight up horror movie that plays with the cliches and perceptions of the genre. There *are* some funny moments in it but for the most part, this is a very violent, scary, bloody movie.

It's definitely not a straight up horror movie. It pokes fun at the genre throughout its running time. The Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford characters are almost purely there for comic relief. I didn't think Cabin in the Woods was anywhere near as good as Drag Me to Hell. My coworkers absolutely hated Cabin, but I thought it was at least an original, but failed effort.

This Weddon and Goddard's big middle finger to current generation of horror movies. I am excite.

I am excited to see this movie, but I think the tv spots ruined a big twist to it:

I saw a bunch of futuristic barriers or some stuff like that

Going to see it tonight.

Always thought it looked terrible going by the trailer, but with the great reviews and myself loving a good horror film, I'm quite excited.

Just saw it, was amazin'

major spoilerz:
hopefully cabin in the woods 2 will have Kratos in it kicking Titan butt

I also did not like sigourney weaver being it. I'm just like oh hey look it's sigourney weaver then a minute later she's dead.

Just back. Was a bit meh tbh and not as smart as it's being hyped up to be. The underlying plot doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. Was kinda enjoying it right up to the final five minutes.

Strangely enough this is already airing in theaters in the netherlands? Awesome, since the imdb page says april 19. either way I might go tomorrow :D. I hope it's as least as good as Drag me to hell, because I really enjoyed that.

I want to see this but The Raid is finally getting released here today so I have to make a choice

The Raid is awesome, but gets a bit tiresome by the end. I had more fun on the whole with Cabin, which actually gets better as it goes along. Both great movies though.

TBH I thought it looked pretty good already just going off the trailer, but after reading impressions I'm just hyped as hell

I think I'll be seeing this tonight. I've seen a few trailers for it at times but can't recall many details, so I'll be going in mostly blind.

Very excited about seeing this, the IGN UK guys (the better part of IGN) have been raving about it. Will probably go next week when we can all see it, so until then, I'll be avoiding any sort of media about this (which, unfortunately, will probably be quite easy.)

Just got back, I really enjoyed it. Funny, smart, very entertaining.

You can figure out what's going on by paying attention. But the way everything pans out is great... and crazy.

I loved that it played off all the old horror cliches.

Just got back from seeing this, thought it was awesome. If you are planning to go and see it keep two things in mind, the more you watch and enjoy horror movies the more you will likely 'get' this movie and love it, also don't expect this to be a full on horror flick, it is more of a satirical horror such as the evil dead or scream.

I really enjoyed it myself, I am huge fan of horror movies and some of the dialogue is such a poke at them in a good way. It is a movie that will favor repeat viewings to try and notice new things a second time round and will generate a lot of conversation from people trying to understand the message the movie was giving. However if you arent a horror genre fan and don't watch many horror movies you will probably just find the movie juvenile.

Lastly, the ending is fricking awesome.
Specifically the monster mash at the end lol.

just got back from seeing this. definitely one of the better movies i've seen in awhile. if you let someone spoil it for you, it'll kill most of the fun.
