First "rotten" review has come in. Doesn't actually seem too negative, she thought it was okay.
Bound to happen sooner or later. Anyone want to make predictions on final tomatometer?
Nick Frost? Some people shouldn't do this for a living.

I think it will be around a solid 85-90 percent on RT.
Can the Rotten Tomatoes link in the OP be fixed? The joke isn't funny and people will want to see the real RT for this movie.
"And in order to shoe-horn in The Avengers before Thor 2, Whedon has to shrug and ignore an ending that had Thor trapped on Asgard longing to reunite with his dream girl scientist Jane (Natalie Portman). Here, he somehow lands back on earth no problemo, and when he learns Jane was transferred six states away for her own safety, he doesn't even bother to visit."
I was wondering how they would explain how Thor has returned to Earth after the ending to Thor.
Just ignore it. lol
What's the source for this?

Speaking of RT, one rotten goes up and it gets 50+ complaining comments in like 45 seconds. Stop embarrassing me, internet.
The Avengers almost works. It's funny and it's physical, but even at two and a half hours, it plays like it's on fast-forward. Forget character developmentthere's not even character explanation.
If such a thing can be said about a $220 million dollar blockbuster, The Avengers needs more ambition.

Hmm.
Review invalidated, right?Nick Frost. Hmm
From people who have seen the movie
the dialogue alludes to the fact that Odin had to expend some energy to transport him, his goal being to bring Loki back. By the end he can travel between midgard and Asgard with the the Tesserect.

Still sounds like a pretty crappy way to explain it after Thor's ending. It's almost like even Marvel was like "Eh, no one gives a shit about this relationship".
Hmm.
I'm not ignoring them, they aren't really saying much to quell my worries. No, People are entitled to their opinion. She didn't like it, fine, but at least do your job as a professional. Seems to be a contrarian though
But I do find it funny that you would ignore all the positive ones.

The fun thing it's she give it 3/5 stars. Also, she give "Green Hornet" a FRESH!! lolol

I found Green Hornet to be a fun movie. 3D was shit and I have no desire to re watch it, but I had fun and did not regret paying to see it.

I always find this funny. The Hunger Games defense force on RT is hilarious.
If you think that was bad, wait until TDKR. I forget, how did Armond White review the previous two?

TDK was negative. Not sure about Begins. Probably the same.
You don't even have to stretch your imagination.
Good cinematography.
Good score.
Good performances.
Great scenes? Plane sequence is still the best superhero action scene put to screen, brief as it was. The flying car scene is goddamn magical. Superman flying from the biplane into the sun is gorgeous. Superman getting the shit beaten out of him was pretty unnverving. The shot of him falling unconsciously back to earth looks great. Supes scene with his sleeping son?
There is plenty of great stuff in the film. But of course it is marred by the silly attempt to rehash Donner's 1978 plot. The flight over Metropolis is nice in Returns, but ultimately feels empty compared to it's original source, despite Ottman's fantastic rendition of the original scene's score.
Superman Returns is a flawed film, but a good film. It's still a huge shame that the opening Krypton search scene was never on the theatrical cut.
The problem with Cyclops is that from the beginning he should have been played by Michael Biehn.
There's probably other folks in this thread who have seen the movie, I've not checked, but I was fortunate enough to see a fan screening in London last week. Hand on heart, I can honestly say I was blown away and am as desperate to see it again on release as I was the minute I stepped out of the cinema. I did not expect it to be as good as it was, it's just one big, joyous thrill ride. Anyone who has enjoyed any of the Marvel preludes leading up to this can't fail to enjoy it.
It is without a doubt my favourite superhero movie of all time.
is the complaint about character development correct? it shouldnt matter cause that's what the stand alone movies were for, but i do expect some development as they learn to work together.

There's not a vast amount of time for it, but I think they do plenty to justify everything, while also keeping it all ticking along. However, when it comes to working together as a team in combat, there's no training sessions, it's a trial by fire.
the plane scene in returns isnt great, neither is the nightcrawler scene in xmen 2
The size of the smile on my face at the start of X2 said otherwise.

half the shit in comic book movies I like for the simply fact these are comic book characters come to life on the big screen. Half my enjoyment is stemming from that alone.

Yeah, when movie critics discovered this plenty of them just started being overly critical towards blockbusters/movies with nerd fanbases in order to bring more hits onto their sites.
You can read all about it in my blog, "Why you suck and everything you like is awful"
wat
There's literally 10 scenes I think of off the top of my head that are better than that.
