Hey guys, here you go. This one was in Florence, KY with my cousin and his family.

Oh wow, right in my backyard (Taylor Mill/Independence, Ky here, I work in Florence)... haven't posted in this thread but have been reading since the beginning. Sorry for your loss. You have borderline immortalized your brother's name with such positive energy. A very cheesy thing to say but true nonetheless. Best wishes to you and your family.

Ah okay.

I was wondering, and I know this whole thing got going because it was your brother's last wish, but do you ever feel like there's a more worthy cause that you could donate chunks of money to instead?

You're handing cash to waiters not exactly knowing their fortune, not knowing whether they're actually struggling or not. Your intentions are good but I can't help but feel that there are hundreds of struggling institutions, and causes that could better use this money and effort.

I don't mean to insult what it is that you're doing - I find it admirable. And I know it can be near impossible to decide which cause best deserves the effort. But I would like to know whether you think about that and how you feel.

Trust me, I've heard it all from starving children in Africa, to the homeless, to orphans. While I realize there are "more worthy" causes on the surface, I think the impact this is having is broader than can be expected. It isn't just the people who get the money (and they work hard and earn very little) but the millions of people who are being uplifted from watching it. $50,000 wouldn't make a dent in the homeless problem this nation faces, but it has proven capable of uplifting the lives of millions somehow.

Just the other day we got word from a taxi driver in San Diego. He received a $500 tip on a $70 cab ride and when he attempted to refuse it, they told him about Aaron and why they were giving him so much. For whatever reason, at this moment, this story is changing the way countless people are behaving in their day-to-day lives. It's inspired a spirit of generosity in so many. I can't say that will be a lifelong change for them, but right now people around their world are doing good things and being generous to strangers because this inspired them to do so.

It looks like I'll be in NYC tomorrow and Saturday. CBS is flying myself, mom, and Sarah (the first waitress) up to be on their morning show Saturday. So I'll be on TV, live, for all of you to watch at around 8am.

Wow, this thread has gone through a significant change over the last month, hasn't it? Sad to learn your brother didn't make it and you had so much trouble surrounding it, OP, but I can't imagine he'd be anything but proud of what you've turned his will into. Quite a phenomenon.

Someone may have already suggested this - but I'd love to see a book or longer collection of stories that follows up with the 100 people you will meet and the impact of this gift.

Edit: Aw snap. Beaten severely.

Can't remember if I posted early on in the thread but I just have to say yet again, so sorry for your loss but you're doing something absolutely fucking beautiful. If someone I love dies, and I can honour them in a way half as incredible, I'll be happy.

Incredible Seth, honestly.

Am I the only one that thinks it would be great if you guys (including Sarah!) left another tip while you're up there?

Just read this, amazing man. I am definitely inspired.

How many videos do you have linked now, is it 2 or 3?

Edit , oh wow looks like 4!

Read through the beginning of this thread when it first was posted, but just now seeing all these updates. I'm sorry for your loss. What you're doing now though is great, I think things like these are fantastic and inspirational. It truly is a domino effect... you do something nice for someone, they may spread it around and do nice for others, it really is a great thing.

Subscribed to your YouTube and I look forward to the weekly videos. While I can't give away $500 like that, I do hope to find other ways of making people's days. It really does make a difference.

Goddamn, but you are the classiest of class acts. Class acts should take a class from you in being a class act.

Great job Seth. Incredible story, it's pretty amazing how this blew up everywhere.

The downside is that now a lot of waiters will start to be on the lookout for you, have you had any ideas on how to mix things up to avoid that?

And sorry for your loss, I hope you get closure on his cause of death soon.

edit- didn't realize there were more than 2 videos and that waiters were already recognizing you

Seth just watched the other 3, man the 3rd one made me cry.

I think it's kind of cool she knew about it before hand, but she was still so taken back by it.

And 4th girl now she can pay her rent.

Going to make sure my dad watched these (I told him about this after your first upload). He said he would but he always forgets everything!! He will definitely be taken aback by this.

Since you're so keen on keeping the hat, how about having companies pay for product placement advertisement space when you're shooting the videos?

Donated. Not much, but it's 1/100th closer to another. I like giving big tips too.

EDIT: It's always amazing how many people sitting on their computers doing nothing know how to improve on good works that others are actually doing.

This has turned amazing and I'm shocked at how big it has gotten. No words man. Your brother would be proud and I can't fathom the pain but you're doing his work man. As 1 of 3 brothers, this makes me smile and shed a tear. More so because others are benefiting from your brothers last wish. Can't speak enough to that impact.

Do a waiter next week, want to see if you can get a guy to tear up :p

There is a waiter in the week 6 video. Spoiler alert:
He doesn't cry. The girl next week does, though.
Unfortunately I don't "choose" anyone, so I can't just choose a guy or a girl. We pick a restaurant but after that it is out of our control.

Am I the only one that thinks it would be great if you guys (including Sarah!) left another tip while you're up there?

Sarah and I are already planning a special episode with the two of us, BUT if I were a betting man, I'd bet we all got together and gave away $500 in NYC. I'm not saying it's happening, but...

Just read this, amazing man. I am definitely inspired.

4 videos are up, 5 and 6 have been filmed (but I've not edited either of them). Both should be pretty good.

Do it! I would totally buy a copy.

Guess I need to get a notebook and start detailing all of these experiences. Will do.

It's awesome. She had heard about it, talked about it with co-workers, but still didn't recognize me or expect it. I loved that.

Awesome! I also loved hearing from Week 4 waitress in the website comments. That was a nice touch. :)

(I can't believe you've done the next two already. You're making great time!)

I just read the whole thread, what an unbelievable story!

What you're doing is truly amazing, you've turned a tragedy into a wonderful thing that has and will positively affected the lives of many. Words just can't express how awesome that is.

I have only read the first page and the last (28 pages!) but I wanted to express sorrow for your loss, admiration at what it has caused, but also curiosity about the implications in the OP. Could somebody do a quick summary?

Yeah, this story went national (again) today. It's incredible. We will probably hit $50,000 tonight or tomorrow.

I'm just a random guy but I wanted to say this is an incredible story (yet a tragic one because of your brother).

It is amazing how you and your family are coping with it and in a good, positive way.

Thumbs up, Seth.

Wow, such an amazing turnaround in this thread. I remember reading it when you made it, really glad to see you're coping with this positively and even, maybe, having fun carrying out your brothers wish.

Really nice to see this is also making news nationwide, even though this is where I found out about it just now.

Really sorry about your loss, don't think I posted in this thread yet, and wish you and your family the best.

This is a beautiful thing youre doing. I'm sorry for your loss and for your family, but you're clearly helping people's lives in a super personal way and I think this is one of the most amazing things I've ever read here and it's all so touching...

...my only only problem....

..stop wearing a hat at the dinner table. Seriously dude. >.<

you should do at least one of these without the camera as well, just order a pizza and tip the guy with an envelope, don't even tell him the deal or why. maybe put a note in there so he doesn't call you in confusion if he's super honest pizza guy.

Wow, what an emotional read. I am so sorry for your loss Seth, but something beautiful has come out of it, you have inspired thousands of people here, your brother would be so proud.
