Indeed. The Wii U version (if there is one) could have the potential to be the best version of the game, barring the PC version's graphics and mod support. That and it would really help Wii U gain even more of a hardcore audience. Just as long as it's day and date with the other versions.
I think it's a safe bet that will get a new trailer during the VGAs.

And that's why it's uncool. Rockstar hyped GTA IV by buying air time on a television station and just broadcast IV. They don't really need Game Informer and that's why I think it's a pretty un rock star place to reveal.

i think most companies would take free marketing specifically targeted at their key demographic, GI is massive as well and reaches many gamers.
the tv ads and billboards will no doubt appear closer to launch

Yeah, and most other R* games since then too. Normally what happens is R* announces a new game, then about two months later it gets a GI cover story, which is where all of the first real details come from. The only thing weird about the GTA V GI cover story is that it took so goddamn long.
Are you new to R* Marketing? They are one of the few developers that start the hype train 4 to 7 months prior to release.

Rockstar never launched a GTA trailer at the VGA,E3,GDC or whatever,imo the second trailer/release date should come before the GI cover.
GameStop has just updated its Grand Theft Auto V page and the new placeholder is March 2013.I guess it was not random,March seems the sure bet right now.

Id like to see a Wii U version. I wont be getting a Wii U but theres no reason more people shouldnt get to play the game if its not a herculean task to port the game to wii.

Just wanted to point out how GAF was totally wrong about me being totally right. I'm getting my I called it gif ready for when they announce the exact date.
Shareholders meeting is October 30th when they will discuss about money and stuff.
So there are two possibilities:
1) GTA V will be out in this fiscal year, so at least a couple of weeks before April, 1 2013. In this case is the right time to give people a release date. We know that on November 1, the first preview will be out, so probably we will see a Trailer before October 30
2) GTA V will be out after march 2013, so their projected revenue will have to be adjusted.
Then why we are getting a preview in 20 days?
So there are two possibilities:
