Halo |OT12| Last One Out, Get the Lights

Is MLG actually thinking of leaving in instant respawns and ordnance in the MLG gametypes?

They don't have a choice, you can't prevent instant spawns and placed weapons on the map won't show up (basically "Weapons on Map: None" is forced on)

They seriously cut classic zombie functionality? Are you fucking serious? It sounds like 343 was completley out of touch with the Halo community when designing Halo 4.

Not actually cut (as in engine functionality), but the Megalo script overrides anything you try to do.

They should have just made Soul Edge a regularly selectable weapon.

Anakin is the head of gametpes now, he's a lot stricter from Killa KC.

:(

I'll keep preaching Team Hardcore settings and hope 343 listens, what if the game isn't picked up or dropped again? Do you remove the playlist then with the inactivity of updates? I love MLG but there should be some community ideas and feedback behind it, not just 1 person/company.

NeoGAF's smiling token!
Here is where I am politely expressing my frustrations at the state of the product for having actively experienced a glitch used against me on Complex in Oddball. Choice words could easily describe my frustrations but I am choosing to actively refrain against expressing myself in such a coarse manner.

343 please be fastidious in attending to your game.

Signed, a long time fan.

It looks interesting, how do the vehicles play out...

They go slow to get around the corners (as intended) but I will be adding ghosts in as they will be able to go around faster and get kills.

Middle is a death zone in multi-team CTF so most of the action goes around the vehicle ring.

Nothing like playing Oddball on Complex, only to have the other team wall hack and win because I'm the only one on my team that knows how to do it. As an added bonus, the player's gamertag who was holding the ball was "Halo 343i."

343i pls. Fix this shit.

EDIT: Plywood'd.

Is there a reason the 3 forge maps arent in matchmaking? Or have i just not seen them yet :/ Seems to be too few maps for slayer. Every match is Haven. Big team is Ragnarok.

Im sure the map packs will fix this. I just have no patience to wait for forge maps to start popping up.

Also Team Snipers stand up

And wtf at people saying fix this now etc lol. The games not even out 10 days chill the fuck out people

In what way?

Here's 1 example, for MLG Providence 2011 most of the pros/community wanted no bloom for Halo Reach since the old DMR bloom was terrible for competitive play and viewers.

Here's how the pros voted:
1qmFv

They used bloom for the event and Providence 2011 was the worse tournament for Halo in recent years.

Could they not just set them to be initial drops that continue to respawn? That's what I did on my map and it works just like standard weapon spawns did in all of the other games.

I think that prevents them from using their pet trick of dropping weapon spawns though (this is now getting confusing to read)

Seriously 343 needs to bring back the old zombie mode, actually I am sure they can and label it something else.

(seriously they REALLY need to do this)

You know, I understand the whole, "This is 343's vision." shpeal that people defend 343's decisions with. But look at Reach. What kept the playerbase alive from MW3 release to the TU release? It was largely, the player's vision. Stuff like Nascar, Firefight Limited, and Squad Slayer all were huge points for the community.

Quite frankly this game has a lot of potential for players to design it how they want to and extend the life of the game. But it falls very short. Simple stuff like being able to add powerups like Overshield, Damage Boost, or Camo to the maps, having consistent objects in Forge, giving the option to drop the flag, adding skulls in Spartan Ops, giving loadouts in Campaign, allowing zombie traits, or disabling auto-pickup on objectives could all give the game so much more life.

Again I am sure they will re-add the classic options in since it was the base for pretty much all mini-games.

A few concerns right now:

-Why do so many of the maps have geometry that you get caught on? Make for an unsmooth combat experience. Very frustrating.
-The maps aren't very poor at have objects or sides that help you orient yourself on the map.
-Can a strafe be patched into the game? Also, ideally reduce auto-aim/aim assist/bullet magnetism.
-Respawns are sometimes instant and sometimes 3 seconds in King of the Hill.
-Jetpack, King of the Hill, Haven. Jetpack up on spawn, empty your grenades into the hill area, win.

Watching U4ix battle his own incredulity while battling through BlopsII's campaign was a good use of my evening.

Some standout quotes:
"Timeout, timeout. I'm calling a timeout"
"I'm taking a break because there are people in crates"
"For anyone watching and thinking 'he's not going to shoot a horse in the dick is he?'..."

The next time you insert different variants of FFA/King of the Hill type stuff you should have some introductory clip on how to properly play this shit or what to even do.

reporting back from Black Ops 2, the netcode is still shit. Will probably keep playing Halo 4 a majority of the time

Always has been and always will be. Halo and noted Halo 4 have always had superior netcode plus the game mechanics of shields actually help foster online play rather than always rewarding the good connection with kills etc.

Was just about to post this. Every game, and I mean EVERY game for me has had a horrible connection. Campaign story was actually really good, but I stay for the MP. Unfortunately, the netcode right now paired with shit ass wall hack attachments (hmmm) and target finder attachments really makes me sad face...

I am saying this for anyone who was interested in the game, Halo 4 was actually rock solid on my schools connection, BLOPS2, nope. So yeah, those of you who were laughing inside when I traded Halo 4 for it, just hold it back please. This guy dun goofed.

And mine is 81,003. So it seems to actually have gone in order of preorder maybe. I preordered mine as soon as it was available on Amazon.

Really. Mine is 9451.

I just got it today in the mail along with The Last Story but I don't know if I should open it because of how meh the digital bonuses turned out to be.

It wasn't always this way. MW2's netcode was way better than any of the games after it. It all went downhill after Black Ops introduced the theater. Which by the way doesn't even work right in BO2. I wanted to go back and watch a game I played, but it only kept two minutes of the match, and it was the two minutes before I joined the game.

back on the subject of Halo 4, why are there little invisible barriers on corners of walls? More than once I've tried to put a grenade around a corner but it's bounced off where there was no wall
