Dude, awesome.
Pretty awesome.
I thought Chespin looked cool until I saw Fennekin and realized how terrible the fire starters have been the last 2 generations. Then I thought Froakie looked alright.
Now I found out all of my friends are getting Chespin and my sister is getting Fennekin. So I'm gonna change from Team Fennekin to Team Froakie! Each team should have it's own roar/motto/etc.
Oh and MY AVATAR FINALLY CAME TRUE!

I love those. I like the Fennekin drawing the most but Chespin is still number one.

While I like all starters this gen (usually it's just one or two - Squirtle, Totodile/Cyndaquil, Treeko/Torchic, Turtwig, Oshawott), I was going to pick Fennekin.
But goddamnit Chespin is growing into me. It's so goddamn cute and has that optimistic face and looks like the "hey guys why won't we just get along" feel to it oh my

To be fair, that's the first thing I said, too. I don't love any of the starters, but Chespin is def the best.

Skipped Black/White and B/W2, but probably won't skip this one. The new cel-shaded animation is pretty awesome.
I'm okay with the graphics. It's Pokemon and it's still a great upgrade.
But I can't help wonder if Nintendo was a little lazy. Looks like they used the same assets from the DS version, touched it up, and just played around with the camera. I could be wrong, but after seeing Dragon Quest 7 being remade, I know the 3DS is capable of much more.
Anyway, still looking forward to it.

But still. Fire starters ARE cool. Plus this one will be Fire/Psy.

*In addition to existing Pokemon, there will be a large number of completely new Pokemon. *The additions will bring the total number of Pokemon in the franchise from the current 649 to over 700.
*Because of Pokemon X and Y, the Pokemon anime, movies, card game, and merchandise will “break into a new dimension.”
*People around the world will be able to simultaneously experience “Real Play.” (I’m assuming this is referring to the game’s global October release.)
*The game will utilize the 3DS to its maximum abilities to leverage its overwhelmingly beautiful presentation.
*The game uses an innovative communication system that makes it feel as if you are playing with other players around the world.
*The bonds between players and Pokemon will deepen, and Pokemon will become stronger with the new battle structure.

I'm hoping for Water / Dark with a lovely Nasty Plot, or maybe Calm Mind viable moveset to go with Torrent.
Fire / Psychic is such a mixed blessing (as both types are by themselves too). Pretty good offensive type, but it's destroyed by everything on defense.

What are they going to do about the anime? I'm sure it will be on schedule in Japan and the new region will coincide with the Japanese release, but what about in the west? The games are gonna come out months before the anime will be localized, right?
I would bet on it being well over 700, or this really would be the smallest generation yet.

Yeah, 'over 700 new Pokemon' is essentially meaningless. Black and White were routinely described as having 'Over 100 new Pokemon' early on and went on to be the biggest Gen ever.
I believe that it would be Water/Dark but Froakie also would have sub-type which would be "Ice-type" move-set.
Froakie looks gross lol wut gaf. Fire starters > your faves.

Naw, It might be more than 51 pokemon. They didn't give out specific numbers.
It really depends on what its final form is. If it's a heavier, I wouldn't count it out of having access to some Ground moves (hell, even Sharpedo has Earthquake). But if it has its stats sorted out correctly, you don't need much coverage for a decent Torrent set with Hydro Pump and Surf being boosted to such incredible levels.. and Water being a great attack type.

Again, during Japanese pre-release it was often said that the games would feature over 100 new Pokemon. It's just a bit of buzz on the fact there are new Pokemon. Saying 750 or 800 is probably too specific for them right now.
