Atelier Totori Plus (Vita) |OT| Stealthily Adventuring onto PSN

Quick question about the treasure chest that was
trapped with a bomb
...

If you open it right away, do you lose the item inside? If you return later with him in your party, do you get the item?

I restarted in NG+... but I still opened the chest and lost the item. Is it worth reloading my previous save (15 minutes back) and returning with him later to get the contents??

All chests have pretty critical items to craft important gear later on... I'm just wondering about this particular one.

I'm pretty sure that the only item that is ever in that treasure chest is a bomb, but I could be wrong.

Amazingly, despite the bad lack of PR from Tecmo-Koei, Totori Plus was the top selling Vita game on PSN last month!

Top 10 PS Vita Games

Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland with Bonus DLC
Nun Attack
Urban Trial Freestyle PS Vita
Sine Mora PS Vita
Persona4 Golden
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
MLB 13 The Show PS Vita
Dokuro
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale PS Vita
Dead or Alive 5 Plus

I'm gonna guess it was a combination of word of mouth (in part because of the lack of PR) the free DLC costumes and the spend $50 get $10 back promotion they did last month.

I'm very happy to see this game getting positive sales. :)

Turned out to be an Ignot. If you return with him in your party you open the chest safely. At least it's not an important item.

I'm very happy I restarted in NG+... after only about 2 hours of play I'm almost at level 20 and have reached the 3rd Adventurer rank (at least I have the points for it), and I'm only in January of Year 2. Having the powerful gear and extra money to buy all the recipes makes it a breeze to blow through.

Okay, I'm in the final year, got everyone's friendship to 60, and am generally doing pretty well.

It's just that this Spring cup trick seems like the only viable strategy to attaining the money needed for one of the endings. The problem being that it has been severely nerfed. Reading a round a little, the profit gain is pretty meagre now, and although I was making back the original cost, it isn't really anything special, especially in comparison to what it had been. I'm aware that several other items become available (eventually) to bump up the profit, though I'd like to know when this is, and whether anyone has already achieved this in their own Vita playthrough. Currently it looks as though this could take a really long time, or I simply will reach the end before I start making real gains.

I hope there is someway around this! As much as I've enjoyed this, I'd hate to be dragged through multiple NG+ for the sake of an ending.

Are your Spring Cups of high quality? 120?

Yes, but they revert back to 100 when registered to Pamela anyway. The issue is that the price has risen between ports, so you make a small profit, comparatively.

I'm aware that more lucrative items can eventually appear with the spring cups, but I haven't gotten to that point yet.

I'm just curious if anyone has already tackled this in the Vita version, and whether they could enlighten me a little bit on the process. Everything that I've read has mainly being focussed on the vanilla edition, so it's a little bit inaccurate in spots.

Have you tried sticking some cost reduction qualities on the spring cups to try to ease the pain of rebuying?

It has crossed my mind, though the legwork involved in producing (and maturing) another spring cup, would take me quite a while.

Is there a rough guide as to when the other items become available? I know that they are tied to location, but I don't know where they are.

Make sure that it says Spring Liquid+

That + sign if very important. I make around 13K profit from each transaction. Add in Giga Stink and Price Down M or L

I had to take a photo for posterity. My mind is still blown by this.

I have a feeling it's mostly due to the fact it is a mainline PS3 title on VITA. People want to play full games (especially PS3) on their VITAs not just indie titles. I'm just bummed I had to wait a week to d/l it and I missed out on the swimsuits....

I think the dlc is included till the 16th so you are still able to get it.

really? Did it d/l with everything else, or is it a seperate d/l? it doesn't appear under the costume tab.

Honestly I don't know I have been on the fence about buying it for a couple weeks and lerking around the forum to hopefully get pushed over the edge towards buying it.

I have no idea what this game or series is about, but seeing that it's so highly downloaded on PSN makes me want to try it.

Anyone want to help push me over the edge to get this?

I've played it for a couple hours and the best way I can describe it so far is "Charming"

It's been easy to get into, although not a deep story so far, but the mechanics are fun and it's easy to pick up and play. The side quests are actually perfect to pick the game up, play for a little bit, then save and shut the VITA down. This is perfect for my crazy busy life I have..

so the game plays pretty well in short bursts? I'm seriously not needing a new game right now, but I'm super curious about this series.

Does anyone have some insight as to what the average play time is for completing the game? Is this a super long epic JRPG or a reasonable 30-40 hours?

Well I'm now a platinum rank, but I'm in my third year in August already. I've been traveling and alchemizing to get my rank up, but now I'm running out of things I can do. All the places left to travel to, and find gathering points are ones with very strong opponents that I'm getting wiped with. I did manage to make the travels shoes, but I fear that really isn't going to be of much use if I can't even go to those far off places.

yes, it plays very well on short bursts and the text has been good thus far. I'm not sure how long it is though, PS3trohies should lisr it..

Thanks, I think I'm going to spend my money on Soul Hackers for now... but this game is next on my list. May is devoid of anything I want so that'll probably be the time to pick this up, though maybe I'll just bite the bullet now for the free DLC. Doubt we'll see a price drop either on the software or Vita memory cards before then anyway.

Guys! I reached Diamond Rank by the beginning of Year 4. YAY!!!! So how hard is it to get the normal end from here on out?

Cheska

Well, I got all the materials required to achieve the Normal End. Just need to turn them all in, but before I do I want to make sure I'm prepared for the "final battle". Is there anything I should know? Be a certain level before you advance, best comrades to have in your party?

Just how much worse looking is it than the PS3 version anyway? I got the impression it was notably worse, but maybe I'm misremembering how the PS3 version looked in the first place?

Though I'd probably still wait on a sale just because of having the PS3 version WITH all DLC. May as well play what I have rather than pay for an extra dungeon (and, err, swimsuits I'd ignore.)
