I don't like how it looks. The stuff in the lead up to the big dragon thing appearing seemed sort of interesting but yeah, I don't care for another one of these.

I sort of understand what you mean. I was interested in the almost cyberpunk look with Big ben etc
But once I saw that big monster I started to tune out for some reason.

Also the flow of the trailer didn't seem that great, they need Kojima to do the trailer next time. XD

Anyway I'll keep an eye out for this.

What a bad trailer, lol. Cut-scenes weren't really impressive, music was shit, and no gameplay shown. Character design isn't very good either.

as much as i love many games featuring 'realistic' graphics, stylized graphics still always look so fucking good/refreshing to me :) ...

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
That trailer really brought me back to the PSone era. It reminded me of the hey day of JRPGs. I'm curious to see what this ends up being. I already have MonHun, so I'm not sure I need another MonHun clone, but I'm interested all the same.

I really do hope it's a single player RPG, though.

Then again if its a cross platform title, sacrifices would be necessary to allow for the design model to work.

Truthfully Id be more concerned about gameplay than graphics. Since if the gameplay isnt good, all we got is a shiny turd. lol

I wish they focused on PS4 and did not destroy games to make them cross platform

Really? The trailer reminded me of the times I used to browse GameStop's small PSP section and see pre-owned copies of God Eater and Lords of Arcana.

I doubt this is a PS4 game. All of SCEJ's PS4 videos (outside of the ACIV CG trailer) are 1080p. This trailer is only 720p, which is what they usually upload for Vita and PS3 releases.

Looks pretty cool. Nice to see a debut trailer that isn't just a few seconds long (Arkham Origins). I hope it's more of a story-driven RPG and not a MMO or something.

Japan Studio seems to be finally kicking it into gear with their recent projects.

I really hope its not a Vita Hunting esque title. I loved the dialogue in Soul Sacrifice but the gameplay wasn't me, and same with MHFU and Gods Eater Burst. Its really a genre I can't get into, but I like the art style of this game.

Wait... so this was the cool title that SCEE exec meant?

Well I guess it could be cool once we see more Vita footage but I can already imagine the typical anti-vita trolls going "hurr durr not exclusive to Vita, I'd rather play on PS3".

I have a feeling that trailer might be a bit deceptive in what it's showing. Unless SCE Japan Studio is making another PS3 exclusive (and given this is a late 2013/2014 launch I'd hope not) I don't think Namco Bandai would be appreciative of a game that looks and plays exactly like God Eater, haha.

Oh, as well it's been just over a year since Soul Sacrifice was announced in a similar manner.

Doesn't look like it, that one is supposed to be 3rd party.

Trailer is anime overload. The futuristic setting, the dragon, the weird vines, the cyborg teenagers, the huge guns, the birthing scene, the countdown clocks -- maybe I'm just getting old, but it's a bit too much for me. Not feeling it.

Doesn't seem to be a MonHun clone since there is a clock above you (time limit till the end of the game?), a protagonist, and more than 4 players in a scene. Could be just a action RPG game. I liked the trailer.

I would've said JRPG until the moment when the girl is saved by soem friends interfering and lashing onto the big cyborg monster that was about to eat her, or whatever. Now it seems like a MonHun game.

But maybe it could be a hybrid? JRPG with that kind of battle system, in which your friends could jump into your game and play with/help you?

Funny that was the part that hinted to me this was more along the lines of a JRPG. The cyborg monster also was summoned by a villan in this universe and they were all put into a position to fight it, rather than hunting it down. Watch the trailer again and imagine each character as a member of a 3-4 person party instead that is fighting against a boss. Now look at how each character seems to have their own unique qualities. The one girl has a summoned beast of her own, the cyborg probably has some unique KOS-MOS type qualities, and the guy with the chain obviously seems like the bruiser type. Plenty of JRPG tropes in there.

I couldn't really disagree more. I loved the visuals and the music, and I'm particularly excited about the setting and how unabashedly over-the-top it is.

I'd be hyped to high heavens about this if it wasn't most likely another hunting game.

Yep if this was a PS4 \ non hunting game it would go straight to the top of my list .

Why? They've put out pretty much nothing but underwhelming games this generation. The only game that looked really promising probably won't see the light of day on PS3 and was all just one big cock tease.

They put out Tokyo Jungle, get the eff outta here!

Looks very interesting. Hoping it's not a MH clone as well, but with the recent wave of these games it probably is.

This whole thing looks like CG for a Vita Monster Hunter clone with a twist. You seem to have smaller monsters on your side and I'm sure the number thing is another main gameplay/story feature.

I'm curious but I don't think I want another hunting game unless it's HEAVILY different. Soul Sacrifice has some great concepts but I just can't stand fighting rats and cats for 30 missions.

Atleast Sony Japan is doing SOMETHING, more than we can say about them during most of the PS3's lifecycle.

You guys kill me sometimes. Not saying it definitely won't be one but it's like ANY TIME there is a large monster in a game now it's a monster hunter clone. I saw MANY more things in that trailer that indicated it won't be a clone and there seems to be a lot more to it than I did see things that made go "yep...MH".

yallz slay me.

Seems like it will be more character and story focused than something like monster hunter. Was god eater just like MH in that respect?

I like the character and monster designs. Hopefully it's an arpg, and on vita and/or PS4.

Definitely looks interesting. Hopes it's a PS4 game, but I'm pretty sure it's a Vita title.

I'm hoping it's for PS4 as well. It looks REALLY good. It reminds me of Death Note with the numbers over the head. If it's for PS4 I will be REALLY happy because I feel we need more Japanese console games.

Looks interesting, I imagine it's for Vita, strange though, certainly looks to evoke MonHun, and if so, why SS? Are they not going to iterate on it? That seems short sighted.

It could be a traditional JRPG or even a MMO.
An MMO on Vita? Seems unlikely. And if it was a major PS4 release, they wouldn't announce it like this, and it's too late to be PS3 only.

A traditional JRPG would be fantastic though. The trailer would be very deceptive if that's the case, but that certainly wouldn't be the first time, so who knows, fingers crossed.

Every JRPG since the dawn of JRPG has been about fighting big ass monster bosses now all of a sudden every one that comes out for a Sony platform is a Monster Hunter clone...*rolls eyes* whatever

You fucking Nintendo fans need a new hobby, may I suggest base jumping

They can do both. Having seen only the trailer. if it ends being an action hunting game it looks and probably plays completely different from Soul Sacrifice.
