I wouldn't say it's a spoiler but sometimes it's nice not knowing when the end game events are coming.

Was the games contrast really poor when you got inside the building, especially in the dark parts for anyone else? Im pretty sure it isnt my tv..
Yeah, it looks washed out to me. Everything was too visible even at minimum brightness.

I had to switch to a non-ISF mode and drop the brightness to bring some contrast to the image. Perhaps they are going for the washed out look? I sure hope not as it is not a good fit here.

Demo complete. Impressions

Nowhere near a simple shooter where u run and gun.
Graphics are good but nothing special from what the demo showed, could be the area. The game does a great job of pulling you into the gameplay. The sounds are awesome and great with headphones. Controls are smooth and easy to learn. Play it with listen mode off and you'll get the suspense and real feel of being in this situation.

When I press Start or X to start the download on the countdown screen a message pops up saying "There are no items you can purchase at this time."

I went into the store and downloaded a free TLOU theme to make sure my connection was good and that the store was working, so... wah.

Sold my ps3 last week. Do I regret it? Nope, Last of Us looks to be another tired Uncharted now with zombies.
I mean, if you don't regret, no worries but really, this game plays surprisingly different. I was expecting it to feel a lot like Uncharted but it really does not. The controls, interactions, pacing, atmosphere, etc. are all vastly different.
 
Just found something interesting on accident but I'm not sure if it was a glitch or if it can be replicated, but I think if you restart checkpoint right after you clear the room of enemies it spawns you after the demo ends.

I cleared the room of the runners and then ran up and clubbed the clicker in the head but wanted to try and do it all again with more stealth so right after I killed him I hit restart encounter and next thing I know I'm a floor up and looking at all the dead infected that I just killed. There was a crate blocking the door and Tess and Ellie couldn't get through it so after I moved it and they got through they moved another crate to hold the door open, before I could hop over it and progress the game faded out to the logo real quick like I wasn't supposed to be there.

I'm going to reboot the demo and try it again, see if I can get farther this time haha.

EDIT:

I actually grabbed the last 5 seconds if anyone wants to see it, you can clearly see I'm a floor up.
 
I have GOW:A but i'm also gonna hold back from the demo. I know when I sit down with the full version its gonna be a good long session, cant play for 20 minutes and stop, will just frustrate me.

Well decided to change Audio settings. By the way if any fellow GAFfer want to change to another Audio you will have to Download more data. This took me about 5 minutes.

And I will stick to English on this one, too. Some games I liked on my own language (Heavy Rain did it right) but this one begs for English Audio for me. Oh no a "clicador!" Nope, nope, nope.

Did you manage to get in earlier when we were all met with errors and it now says that? Because then it could already be added to your download list, so you might want to check that.

Some of you guys calling the graphics nothing special must be crazy in the head. I was almost constantly in awe at how good it looks.

I just went and preordered the game. That's probably the first time ever for me.

Are the digital preorders supposed to be only available for GOW:A people too? Can't find em in the webstore (EU).

Did you checked my earlier post regarding this fellow GAFfer? You can check the pre-order in the Demo (there's an option) on the Store I did not find it but I was in a rush and might have missed it in case it is there.

I posted the Two Pre-order types you can get it.

No, I didn't bother trying then since everyone was reporting issues. When I saw people posting that it was fixed I went and tried it and I've been getting that error.
 
Awesome demo thing: Open your backpack and check out the Military Pamphlet - it shows the four stages of Cordycep infection.

Stage 1 - Runners, hunt in packs

Stage 2 - Stalkers, hide and wait to ambush you

Stage 3 - Clickers, blind, use echolocation, devastating attacks

Stage 4 - B----? (rest of the page is torn.

I love this shit.

My guess is Bruisers, Bruters/Brutals(?), Breachers or Breakers... probably some huge ass mofos that pack a powerfull punch

Hehe nice. But the demo is supposed to fade out to the logo in the end. You probably just tricked the demo to spawn you again and give you a little longer to run around.

Now im torn between preordering on PSN and gettijg from GS. After todays short fiasco im kinda worried about the servers being battered.

Haha thats what I think too but I'm gonna go back there to see if you can get up there on your own somehow or if it was a bug, it took me to a scripted event moving crates between joel ellie and tess that definitely is not in the demo on the next floor up from the room where the melee weapon is.

Obviously its not like theres anything to find up there but a slow fade out and a logo I'm sure but I'm curious :)


EDIT:

Yup you can walk up there during the fight, if you try to pull the crate and progress it alerts the clicker and they all run up and kill you, so I guess we know the infected can climb haha

Pretty sure the infected are blind, so they react to sound rather than light.

According to the cast page on imdb.The 4th stage of the infected are called
bloaters
.
 
So can anyone confirm that the contrast quality is poor when indoors, especially in the dark rooms? I'm pretty sure it wasn't my TV (I have a plasma w/ decent darks), it was pretty bad. Like the darks were 70% grey.

I agree, they are pretty fucking easy to avoid (even on hard).
 
Just remembered a thing about the demo that I found a little amusing, when you have stealthed past the first clicker and jumped over the wall. Why does the clicker not hear them when Joel pushes the big crate out of the way? That sounded quite loud to me :D
