Doesn't AT&T automatically charge you if they find out you're tethering without a plan?

But derailing topics is the norm at GAF. Check any big thread's first page and last page. They usually have almost nothing in common. This is how GAF goes. I don't think that is a legitimate reason to ban people.

But how do we really know they are shills? Biased != shill.

I get that it is still very suspcios to have an MS email and defend the Xbone in here. But is it really ban-worthy? Do we really need this forum to become a hive mind in which we all agree that the Xbone is horrible? Isn't GAF all about the discussion and the conflict of opinions we have here?
People who don't work for Microsoft should be able to register with an email address that's not affiliated with MS, shouldn't they?
And nobody is getting banned solely for defending the Xbone.
That is the part I don't understand. How do we actually know that this is their job? Just because they are using a corp email that means nothing. I registered with my university email here and if started defending my university in some threads, that does not mean that I am doing it only because I study there. I am genuinely believing my points and defend them regardless of my affiliation with my university.

You should probably re-read the TOS and take your questions to email.
What Im getting is:
Defending MS + MS corp email = ban.

Is there any basis for banning those "shells"? I get that their opinions are biased but does that really warrant a ban? Are they getting banned because they just disagree with bish/us?
I can assure you that we would still have plenty different opinions and lots of things to discuss even if every poster that was welcoming anti-consumer practices with open arms was banned from these boards.Do we really need this forum to become a hive mind in which we all agree that the Xbone is horrible? Only if you weren't transparent.
Just listened to the 8-4 Play podcast, the DivX info training video at the end is spot on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Or4nWQpidk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Yeah, I especially appreciate it when developers and community managers interact with us on Neogaf. It's nice to get a chance to talk to people about the games they make and share opinions. It adds a lot to our community in my opinion..
Funnily, a lot of the industry folks who post here and are transparent about their employers spend more time discussing topics unrelated to their work. Whereas these viral marketers spend 95% of their time in Xbone threads, because they're not getting paid to make unrelated posts.
Nonsense. Frankie works for 343 and has never hidden his affiliation. He participates in numerous threads outside of Halo, defends policy when he sees fit and is completely open. We have many, many developers who participate in the forum without hiding who they are, and even more who haven't disclosed where they work, but don't participate in threads where their work is being discussed. That's how professionals act. What Im getting is:

I guess the contract ran out.
Holy crap. If this means he was what we all think he was, and that further implies tethering your Xbone to a cellphone to get around a bad home internet connection is an OFFICIAL rebuttal being told to be used to get around home ISP problems, then MS is will and truly f#&ed.

Common sense says that if there's a potential for conflict of interest, either recuse yourself from the conversation or make your affiliation known so we can parse your posts accordingly.
If you try to hide, eventually you'll be discovered.
Any more questions, feel free to take it to PM.
ALL RIGHT NOW BACK TO THE MUSIC

Looking back, I'm starting to feel thankful to EA for being the first to introduce the "cloud gaming" marketing term on a large scale with Sim City, and fucking it up colossally. Marketing must hate that.
Thank you EA, for making your marketing ploy so transparent and easily proven that even the least critical gamer will look twice before buying it again.
The music we're getting back to is kind of discordant at the moment
In the US tethering requires an additional monthly charge and has to be unlocked by the carrier
So... how do we differentiate astroturfers from fanboys? A forum without hardcore fanboys would be pretty boring, and it would be a shame to ban those poor souls.
Hey, just cos he uses Zune on Windows 8 as a player doesnt mean...damn, couldnt even finish that with a straight face.
It's usually pretty obvious when someone goes through the trouble of creating an account, doesn't post for 3 years, then suddenly appears aggressively posting about one subject.
Can Sony survive in Japan with used game DRM?
How crass.get creamed by the bang bus
Can Sony survive in Japan with used game DRM?
The real question is how can MS expect to revive themselves in Japan with the Xbone's used game DRM BS?
