Also, where did the heatwave/ hot week thing come from?
I have no idea why they thought this would sell anything.
It's a late port of an HD remake of games that are coming on 10 years old and they are charging damn near $50 for it.
The Ryu ga Gotoku brand is firmly associated with PlayStation. It's extremely unlikely that there were people who refused to own a PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3, own a Wii U, and were still interested in playing these games.
graces f > abyss ps2 > abyss 3ds
Poor Wii U.

in the media create sales thread during a thread about wii u sales someone tried to discuss wii u sales before people were finished laughing at them and it went on to become the most forced meme i've seen on here
Lol at the revisionism of what happenedin the media create sales thread during a thread about wii u sales someone tried to discuss wii u sales before people were finished laughing at them and it went on to become the most forced meme i've seen on here
Celebi from Celebi.org or whatever posting here trying to spin Pikmin bomba in Japan.
It's all about scale, right? If a publisher makes $20-30 revenue per copy sold at $60, then you're looking at a high end of around 2 million in revenue. For large corporations, that has to pay salaries and expenses of the tens of people working on it, marketing, advertising, etc. it all adds up.I still fail to understand how selling 60k of something can not make a translation profitable, while at the same time being enough to fund entire games.
Lol at the revisionism of what happened
Have some self respect
i don't think it's revisionism. threads are hot when they discuss something where people have conflicting interests. they need to sizzle down before you can talk about stuff like that and someone made the mistake of getting in early.
the forced part is just how i interpret it. i don't even know what people mean when they say it because it's being used for literally everything, not even related to nintendo stuff

That money would of been better spent on an HD remaster of F-Zero.
At least that game has worldwide appeal.

The WiiU owners who are interested in their games buy it for other plattforms if there isn't a WiiU version. So why even bother with a WiiU version?

Getting in early? It was one of the most desperate excuses ive ever seen and there have been bad ones on gaf

It was also really hot to the level of heat wave in Japan last week, and it came out in a holiday weekend where people were not in the streets. Even the Pokémon Centers were fairly empty and that seldom happens.
This has an effect on sales. I'm not saying this to spin but as an explanation
well the dude even put a disclaimer on there so people wouldn't take it the wrong way and people took it the wrong way anyways.
Lol, dude has a name, but keep calling him Celebi, makes me chuckle out loud. Anyway on topic , gawd dayum! Some experiment lol.
Basically i know im spouting completely illogical bullshit but dont attack me for it.....

It's not illogical. It makes actual sense. Anyone who is in the retail business can tell you that for specific kinds of retailers, business drops in one weather, and increases in another.
I was not using it to explain everything, I said it would have had an effect on it.
As I said, taking it to extremes

In your defence, I saw an awful lot of people saying the same thing in a recent PAL thread, totally straight faced. It's not illogical. It makes actual sense. Nope. It was even mentioned in the relevant press release.I'm pretty sure they were all jokes...

TheSeks never calls anything by its actual name.
This was never a major effort to start with it and it's being treated like was a major AAA effort in this thread judging for the number of replies, c'mon. Ah... it's a third-party game (a mature one) that bombed on Wii U... ok.
you really can't believe that weather has no effect on sales, right? it's a really common thing. it's extremely noticeable where in FL where i live. retailers can set employee hours based on weather. whether or not that had an effect is one thing (and people had a good argument as to why it didn't comparatively), but it isn't like that thinking is totally out of the norm.

What a waste of time that "experiment" was. Sega, stop being dolts and actually do people a favour by releasing the HD collection and Y5 in the West instead of releasing Yakuza games on platforms where they won't sell shit.
