Sony's Gamescom Media Briefing On "Release Plans for PlayStation 4"

I hope they don't waste any time on Vita. It's a dead system, it's over. Let it go.

PS4 needs some big upcoming game announcements. Spend an hour talking about the launch games and those upcoming ones.

This is the moment of truth for Vita. If there are no game announcements for the system today, then there's nothing to look forward to past Tearaway, and that's fuckin' bleak.

this man speaks the truth!

games after tearaway or bust!

indies are fine and all, but i didn't buy a vita when i can access the same games on my computer or tablet for less.

also give me crash classics playable in NA ffs !!!!

ill believe remote play when i see it.

I wouldn't read too much into how the 3rd parties are "hinting" at the release dates for the new consoles. They can't say anything, even if they know, so all they can do is skirt around and try to come up with ways to not give away the date. They can always plead ignorance if someone tries to follow-up on a statement where they implied one date and it turned out to be something different.

To be honest, the TIMED Exclusive content, I don't think does much, at all, for either console.

But yeah, it definitely seems like EA is working very close with Microsoft this gen around, which is disappointing, but, at the same time, Microsoft needed to do everything they could to change public perception since their XB1 announcement and E3 conference.

Also, CoD may be marketed through Microsoft, but it feels like Activision is giving Sony more love this time around. Diablo 3 has yet to be announced for XB1 (even though an Xbox 360 version was announced), and Sony seem to have marketing rights for that. And...Activision is seemingly allowing Destiny to be marketed through Sony, so...

If they release in Oct. I will probably buy it and scrap my plans to wait until a game I want comes out. :( My want for a new system is strong.

I hope they don't as I don't want to spend all this money right now.

Yeah this is basically the last chance I give them with Vita.

This show will decide whether I get a Vita this year or possibly never.

I don't expect to hear anything from ND. They are working on DLC for TLOU and any talk of a possible TLOU will have to wait for the GOTY version next year. ND and Sony wants that DLC monies and any new sales this Fall. It's also possibly too early to talk about Uncharted 4 or what the U3 is working on.

ND has two teams though, there's no way that the uncharted 3 team isn't knee deep into a ps4 title...but I don't expect to see it today...they seem to be cozy with the VGA's and will probably debut there...

A surprise launch title would be awesome though

I personally just feel that with all the money hatting going on it's as if MS is trying to "buy" customers instead of putting out a quality, fair priced product.

I'm sorry but i don't fall for that shit.

EA is a really big company and has lots of fans, but else I'd be sure that Sony would have pulled a stunt like: "Oh, jeez EA... uhm, about all those titles you were bringing out this holiday season? Yeah, something is wrong with the certification... but we think we'll fix it around Christmas, maybe January. Until than, you can't release your games."

I mean, come on, Sony must be pissed. Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft now all have big deals with Microsoft.

If I were a person thinking of getting a XB1, i'd be concerned. Basically MS does this every generation they pony up money to these companies for this content/deals and then they don't really do much of anything else the rest of the way in terms of getting their OWN NEW exclusive IP...one here or there...but they eventually look at sales of the systems and then they start scaling way back on these deals that got people to buy the system in the first place. I'd rather MS put all this money into developing NEW IP's....you know like what SONY does. Xbox fanboys should stop falling for the okie doke.

I just want to know when I'll get my Watch Dogs bundle in the case of an October launch. Will I have to wait to get my console until November when Watch Dogs is released?

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Sony can be pissed all they want but that doesn't change the fact that MS has a ton of money which they can do a lot with.

At the same time though going X1 only means you will be getting zero money out of the PS4 install base, which at the very least will be equal to X1's (though honestly I think it will be way bigger).
Did I miss something? EA & MS announced a bundle of a multiplatform game didn't they? or is there more?

Welcome to how MS has always treated gaming since they entered. They put an extremely minimal effort into building their own talented 1st party studios and try to buy whatever they feel is currently popular for easy and quick sales.

They're the new york yankees of gaming. I say that as a yankees fan too.

You're a smart man...I just posted something to that effect...thats exactly what they are doing. They did the same thing last gen...in fact the first xbox is when i had more respect for the company...when they actually offered more first party games and werent just trying to buy content from other companies.

I can't decide if Sony is going to announce Shenmue 3 now or at TGS. I hope GG shows their new IP they have been developing even if it's just a cg trailer.

Fuck. And it works for both MS and Yankees.

Why is everyone pissing and moaning that Ubisoft, Activision, & EA all have deals with Microsoft?

Last I checked, Ubisoft (AC4 & Watch Dogs) and Activision (Destiny) are both offering exclusive PS4 content as well...

EA is really the lone wolf here...and it's not THAT bad. Timed exclusivity for TitanFall (if you trust CBoaT, which you should), Peggle 2, and ONE Battlefield 4 DLC pack as well as possible console exclusivity on PvZ Garden Warfare (still kind of vague) and a deal for some XBO exclusive FIFA Legends characters that probably won't carry into FIFA 15 when PS4 sales obliterate XBO in Europe anyway.

I dunno...it doesn't seem that bad, and Sony's guilty of the same shit, it just started later so they missed out on CoD DLC.

Can anyone tell me with a degree of accuracy how long until the pre-show starts at Gametrailers?

i don't think there is a pre or post show or we might have seen geoff keighley tweeting about it for a million times already. it just says join them at 10 pacific which is when the actual conference starts. i am hoping this is longer than 1 hour. hoping for 2 hours with the last hour being that talk with shuhei and david cage.

So which guests are at the post-show? Do we have a list?
That will be a good indicator of who is there at the press conference, because they'll be there afterwards discussing what was in the conference.
