I need to start saving for a house I haven't used my sub-woofer in like 7 years
I have a sub-woofer, too, but I have 2 bass shakers mounted to my couch. They're dirt cheap for audio hardware. Hook 1 or 2 of them up to a 70W amp and you're ready to go.

The way this guy talks about the controller feedback with the car and road thing it makes me think of PGR 2.
This is getting me wet in excitement, PGR 2 gave you subtle cues through vibration of the road and vehicle, it felt glorious.
Can't imagine it now with an even more specialized controller.

Didn't realized it has 2 additional pedals in the wheel. But since its mapping the triggers, it will be useful just for navigation right?

To be honest I like the the rim (is that alcantara?) And 900° is good but surely something better is coming?
Could be a decent budget wheel DFGT style.
Don't really trust madcatz quality, the one thing I bought from them this gen has caused no end of hassle.

No clutch; T10 OK'd nonessential cost savings measure, or T10 mandated so they can completely remove clutching from the game, and level the field from hand clutchers?

The matcatz could just be cheap tat with a makeover and the Thrustmaster an early money grab. Dropping the clutch for wheel users is unthinkable.
It took a while for a wheel with clutch on 360 too.

The Thrustmaster one is more of a question mark to me. A. because it's $400usd, and B. because they only have two pedal sets in their line up - two pedal cheapies, and T500's nice three pedals. No $400 quality pedals, and you'd certainly expect a clutch if you were spending that kind of money. It's all a bit weird.
It appears to me, at least right now, to use both the 458 rim, and it's pedals. That's a $90 wheel... My admittedly selfish hope is they're paired with T500 internals. I'd buy it just for that alone, so I could use it on PC with different pedals.

In the other thread, Amar has an estimate of $250. Not sure if that's legit or not. I haven't seen anything myself.

That's why I was comparing it to the DFGT, if it's far more then there's no good reason for lacking a clutch.
As for the Thrustmaster, had hoped it would be an Xbox T500, again no clutch is a mystery.
Hey, Fanatec might have a clutch exclusivity deal.
They do in my dreams.
thanks. wonder what that is based off of? also, based on appearances and the fact that at least the mad catz wheel has adjustable petals, i'd imagine it to be the better of the two. i guess that ferrari license dont come cheap.

It'll be perfectly playable no doubt (and faster) on a pad but I've never gotten used to making small adjustments on an analogue stick. With sim style games, unless it feels like driving in my hands and through ffb it isn't believable.

Oh, I'm a controller user for life when it comes to consoles. I'm primarily interested in the wheels for their PC use viability, and of course that my fellow racers are getting what they need as well. The new XO controller should be wicked for FM5. I want a speed wheel version stat!

fuck no. i have no idea why someone would bother playing a game like forza (of GT for that matter) with a pad. its an entirely different feeling. different learning curve. more exciting. more accurate and true to life. more fun, plain and simple.
though i will add, i'm able to get better lap times with the pad - BUT STILL. never going back.
Yep. Forza with a pad vs Forza with a CSR Elite is like a completely different game.

I was wondering if there's a way to dial out the centre bump? Didn't happen on the older, heavier firmware. Post 742b iirc, the newer firmware is so much better apart from that one niggle.
forza is really great with a pad, and lol youre acting like forza and gt are hardcore simulators
forza is as good as it can be with a pad. its still much more boring that way. forza and gt are simulators (dont need to debate the "hardcore" comment, its irrelevant). a pad is fine for arcade games.
lol, of course this is all IMO, so feel free to disagree.
