Okay, so I plan to order a Kickstarter copy of the game, but I have a question about the verification process. I use two different pseudonyms on both my Kickstarter account and the email associated with my Kickstarter account. My amazon account is also under a different name and email than either my email or my Kickstarter account. Since the verification process seems to rely matching up the names on the amazon, email, and Kickstarter accounts to ensure that they're all the same person, am I basically forced to change the name associated with my email to my Kickstarter pseudonym and then create a new amazon account using that pseudonym? Gmail's going to force me to open a Google+ account to be able to change the name on my account, even temporarily, so I'd rather not go through all of that if I know that I can avoid it.

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

I'm sorry, it was just perfect...

The name associated with your email address in Gmail doesn't matter—it's just a display name, it's not a good way to identify someone. (You can actually have a different display name than the one Gmail apparently mandates by using an email client like Thunderbird...just in case you want to go by something different without having to bother with G+. Pretty bullshit that they locked it behind that, wow...)

Only the name and email address used for your Kickstarter profile and the name and email used on your Amazon account need to match.

I would say that changing your profile name on Kickstarter, even just temporarily, is definitely faster than than creating a new Amazon account...but I understand if you're not willing to do that. There's no way in hell I'm going to reveal my full name publicly on KS, so if a matching first name and last initial isn't enough to get me a backer version I'm just going to shrug it off.

(That is, assuming Amazon Payments figures out why the hell I can't order from the page in time for me to buy a copy at all.) >:/

It's fine! It's a rare thing for me to actually get an avatar quote.

This actually might clarify all of my problems, so I'll try your plan tomorrow. I really appreciate you being so informed on how this verification system works. Wish me luck!

"We're DOING it, based on the poll result of 2700. There's no going back now, but if we don't hit 2500, it will end up being an expense for us we'll have to eat.

That said, unless we have a tremendous drop off, we should hit the 2500 we needed. We're only 800 away with a little less than 8 days to go."

So despite all the naysayers, looks like things are working out after all.

I'm curious to know how many kickstarter version copies they'll end up making. The kickstart had 882 pledgers, and not all of them are going to get this. This has to be the rarest PSP release ever.

well if you go off of
With the current split in orders of Reg/KS (about 77%/23%) the unfunded Kickstarter supporter version will easily be the rarest PSP game in print, followed immediately by the regular version. :)

and assume the split is still about the same means there is like 391 of them pledged right now and if they hit 2.5k and the splits stay the same that would make for 575 made.

Odd question: Does anyone know how I can check the status of my order on Amazon's system? I noticed my debit card balance had dipped below $35 this morning, but I haven't seen any transactions for CoH2 on it. Nothing even remotely close to the right amount.

Also: Why in the world does the Gaijinworks forum require 8 character usernames? What sillyness.

I just got an email saying my copy has shipped. o_O

Finally, delivery of this Electronic Voucher completes the presale order from Amazon, so you will get an email today or tomorrow that says your order has shipped. Don't get too excited about that yet. It just means the order for the Electronic Voucher (this) has been delivered to you. The digital game code and physical product will still take 4-8 weeks to arrive to you.

On the plus side, said email links to:
https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/overview

Which lets a person check the status of their order.

God bless all my old friends/And god bless me too, why pretend?
I got an email saying it shipped too, along with a separate email with a digital code.

Got my PSN voucher code and shipping confirmation for the KS bundle :D

Thanks Vic and Team! Really can't wait to try this out on the Vita, while the Physical edition goes in the display case with Arc The Lad The collection!

Can anyone give any advice on how someone in Europe can use the download code? I've never used the PSN store.

In case you want to play it on Vita:

To download the game through your PS3 (and from there to PSP):

And here's another extensive guide to creating a foreign PSN/SEN account:

Thanks, much appreciated.

This is really silly but apparently the eBay scalper has already sold three copies of the regular edition for $90:

question do i need to have donated to the kickstarter that failed to have the ability to get the ks version or do I just need a kickstarter account. Sorry if its been asked before I just got home and I am too tired to thread search.

Preorders are getting close to 2500, or so it seems. Which is nice, I guess, but it should've been past that post already... anyway, hope we still get there by tomorrow.

I was away but managed to get my order filled on the very last day. Seems like we had a pretty good showing. Congrats on the success Vic. Here's to many more.

It seems Video Games Plus secured some copies of CoH2, if anyone missed this: https://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=21008

Now I regret buying it from Gaijinworks. VGP always marks down their games so you don't have to hassle with the customs.

Says "This product will be in stock on Tuesday 06 August, 2013.".

Edit: according to the other thread that is because they first have to get the games in, just like everybody else, on release date, then send them out.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Apparently the guy has now sold ALL 8 of his not yet released copies. :: mind boggling ::

Anyway, for those not reading the OT in the Community section. This is the latest CoH2 news:

Some news! (Vic, hope you don't mind me copying and pasting your answers from the Gaijinworks forum here)

Vic Ireland said:
CoH version UMD ver. 1.01 approval came in! We can start the manufacturing process!

What does that mean for a possible release?

Vic Ireland said:
Can't say yet. UMD manufacture is down to 1-2 days per month, so we're a bit at the mercy of that schedule. I don't know what days those are in Sept yet. As soon as I have more info, I'll post.

And what about a Euro PSN release, Vic?

Vic Ireland said:
SCEE's scheduling is sometimes kind of bizarre, so I can't say for sure - but I *think* it will be this year. Vanguard Bandits has been tied up waiting for a release slot for like a year. I don't think non-emulated stuff takes as long, but I haven't figured out the trick to how SCEE decides what goes where.

Update from Vic on his site:

We have a tentative delivery date of 10/4 for the finished physical version of CoH2 from Sony's plant. There's still a few days trucking back to us so we can do the fulfillment, but we're almost there! I'll post when the delivery date is final (probably this coming Monday). Some crazy last-minute manufacture drama (non-Sony), too, but I'll share that once we've recovered a bit. This was a crazy week.

Now we might get the game before the end of the year it seems.

Hey vic, I sent a message to your email a few times, but never got a response.

I had to move since this order was taken.

Where can I go to update my shipping address?

Quoting Vic from Gaijinworks forum:

Email your order number, old address and new address from the SAME email as your order was placed from. You'll get confirmation before we ship.

Quote to reveal the email address.

Haha, that was the email I used too.

I didn't get any confirmation, but if it's only going to happen before shipping, then that's why.

Thanks barry.

Should post this part too.

The long slog to having the physical game and sexy full-color manual of the rarest US retail PSP game in your hands is finally almost over, and the good news is that the UMD will be idential to the version 2.00 PSN version that launches on 10/15/2013 - both will have the opening animation and song that were at the crux of what turned into a six month delay of the game's physical release. While we were duking it out with The Man, we also cleared the rights to the Japanese version of the song for our release, so fans can choose whatever version they like. Do nothing and the English version plays at boot or in attract mode. However, if triangle is held at boot or when the attract mode re-loads the opening, the Japanese version will play instead. On-demand geekiness, for your pleasure.

A confirmation email will be sent out to all that purchased the game in a day or so, and also act as an announcement of imminent shipment for those that missed this update.

Thanks again to all for their patience, and we'll post more minute updates on the gaijinworks forum in the Class of Heroes 2 status thread, so head there if you want more details as this week unfolds.

I bet there's a "thanks, Obama" in the dialogue somewhere.

Always liked their passion and their packaging. Always hated the topical humor (despite most games not taking place on Earth) and the tampering of actual game code.

We'll see.

There hasn't been a single iota of that kind of humor. Just a little fourth wall breaking.

Woah. So although the delay sucked, we got the best of all worlds with the final release. Great.

As the licensing dragged on and on, and we had the embarrassing Alchemy recipe bug in the digital release (fixed in the UMD and PSN 2.0 release), the certificate, serial numbered matching holograms and dual opening songs became the least we could to as some kind of consolation, in my view. So that's what we did.

And, now that we have the right parties (there are many) on speed dial here and in Japan for the song licensing (getting TO the right people is more than half the battle), clearing CoH3 songs and beyond will be done long before release. Probably won't get both language versions in the next releases, but who knows, maybe if the sales are decent and the licensing price is right...

LUNAR, which is the series with the most humor of the kind you're talking about, is definitely in our Earth timeline, far future.

And as for code tampering...you LIKE extra button presses, Japanese known bugs, and annoying unnecessary interim menus? That's hardcore. You'll positively HATE what we're trying to do next, then.

Great news. I definitely waited patiently until the new versions will be up for download and it's great to hear that the UMD will be the exact same as CoH2 PSN 2.0.

Now for those physical copies to be sent to their rightful owners (me included) so we can figure out what else Vic has in store for us (besides CoH3).

Awesome to hear that the opening is included. Psyched to get my physical copy

It's been such a long slog to get it included, I hope people aren't building more expectations up for it than it would have had otherwise. It's a cute opening song, nothing more. Definitely a relief to get it out at last, though.

The Bill Clinton jokes were just too out there, though.

Always appreciated what Working Designs did, but sometimes what they did broke the games...they ruined the balance of Arc the Lad 1 by increasing the difficulty, broke Silhouette Mirage, and Vanguard Bandits' translations is...well, I laughed a lot at that game, even during moments that were supposed to be somewhat serious.

I've copped to that. Hindsight is 20/20, and you can't bat 1.0000 with the volume of text I've done.

I don't remember increasing the difficulty in any of the Arc games. Arc I was and is very easy except for the last battle, where it spikes in difficulty, just like the Japanese version as I remember.

Silhouette we'll have to disagree on. At the time, the president of Treasure personally approved our changes and said he liked it. It definitely made the game more challenging, plus our version has much superior FMV to the Japanese release.

Vanguard...well, yes, that was silly, but it has some amazing quotes...and ATAC 69. I also added the support mechanic to that game that really helped the strategy element. You can't believe how often I get asked by fans (who don't realize HUMAN is gone) to get a sequel going on that game.

Arc 1 had the difficulty bumped up, I remember you mentioning it during your Usenet days.

The changes with Silhouette Mirage just changed the way the whole game was played, and not even an option for the original game balance... :(

Don't get me wrong, I loved playing through Vanguard Bandits (got all the endings and the parody opening), but the translation made it seem like a full-on comedy parody of mecha anime while the original Japanese version played it straighter.
