So far looks like they're trying to pre-empt AMD's Nov conference.

So this means Destiny is on the PC? Or is it referring to the PS3's GPU?

Also, am I the only one annoyed by this guy for some reason?

I can't imagine what it'd take to run Arkham Origins and Assassin's Creed 4 at 4k and a stable 60FPS. Arkham City seemed damn near impossible to get to a stable 60FPS at max settings and 1080p.

Why are they pushing 4K sooo much? I mean they may as well put out a Monitor/TV also.

It's what's next. Gotta start pushing it into consumers minds as something they want to achieve.

Depth of Field is CryEngine technology.

And HBAO+? Why? SSDO is much better and cheaper.
TXAA, Tessellation and Cloth physics are CryEngine standard features and only TXAA was made by Nvidia.

Very interested in turbulence and physx particles though.

4K isn't worth anything without the right monitor right? Any one have any recommendations? Or is downsampling the best way to get 4k on 1080p?

Yeesh, what is that dude wearing? Does he realize he's doing a major presentation? It looks like someone found that jersey backstage and thought "Hey, he should wear this!"

He probably thinks it's the 90s. Maybe he needs a backwards hat and some sunglasses, he'll fit right in with that decade then.

I think they mentioned they're going to a hockey game tonight... so playing on that + all Canadians like hockey, eh?

21st century corporations think that that builds the brand or some shit.

Also at the end of the day it's just vidya gamez.

Well the only real gaming 4K monitor atm is the Asus one that's around £2500 IIRC.

As for 4K on 1080p downsampling either in-engine or via driver is the only way.

Ok, Depth of Field in Star Citizen is not Nvidia technology :)

They are getting serious with 4K ...

fake-edit: Depth Of Field is an Nvidia tech?

Someone explain me why DOF is an Nvidia technology...

We have NVIDIA DoF, which is a custom solution that can also do Bokeh. You'll see it in a week or so in Batman Arkham Origins.

I haven't seen anything from the PS4 or XBone that makes me think 'This is next gen'. But the Faceworks stuff does impress me as moving things up a significant notch. nVidia's water simulation stuff from earlier this year gave me that same feeling too.

Does 4k downsampling actually add to the IQ on a 1080p monitor?

That is effectively what (good) AA is.
