So this list is fun to look at again almost a quarter of a way through the season...

Such a dumb list. And I still think Parsons is better than 55th or whatever, and kawhi is worse than 30th. Now that Kawhi looks like doo-doo offensively and couldn't defensively stop Harden or Parsons a few days ago, peeps better wise up.

Harden and dwight should be lower, Rose... : (, Kryie lower since he hates life, and PG should prolly replace Harden actually...around 4. Damn, that list is terrible.

melo for blake griffin.

I was hoping for the 2015 plan but fuck it

Really though you trade him to a team with a good draft pick (odds) this year and who has more picks in the future they either get or give and then you do the sign and trade. Or you trade him as a key piece of a larger deal to grab assets like the magic did. Even on a bad team Melo's personal numbers mean rhe knicks should get some assets. See how denver.

Its too early to say who you get but I doubt its the clippers who provide any of that.

what do you falsely believe then?

That the heat are on any level near shaq-kobe three peat era. This might go down as the most shameful three peat in history. Inflated season record, inflated personal stats, inflated defensive stats etc etc. all due to playing in the shitty conference that is the east.

You know, since we all know how bad the East has been the past decade, it's no surprise they keep sucking given this endless cycle:

Good teams in the West miss the playoffs, make the lottery, pick up more good players in the draft (unless you're Houston, who seems to keep missing the playoffs with a winning record and then proceeds to draft bad players in the lottery).
Bad teams in the East make the playoffs, miss the lottery, get trounced by whatever top 3 seed in the playoffs, proceed to suck for a good long while.

Except the East has been sucking for a long time. They've just been whiffing on Picks, or have largely sucked at putting teams together around their players.

The current Cavs are a good example. The Bynum contract is just bizzare. And the rest of the team make up doesn't make a lot of sense.

The East also LOVES to overpay players "just cause".

Whilst i think Wall on his contract is hillarious, the Wizards have managed to build a semi decent team around him that makes sense.

Then you look at the money thrown at Felton. JR Smith, Charlie V, Ben Gordon.

Then there's teams that are going out to sign FA's and spending money that doesn't make sense. The pistons are a classic example. Josh Smith for 13.5M is ~~~~ probably ok, i still think over paid, but They're going to have to pay Monroe and Drummond before that contract runs out.

I actualy cringe to think the amount of stupid that is going to be involved in giving Biyombo a $10M + per year contract.

And thats before you look at it and realise Toronto are paying Rudy Gay and Derozan a combined 27M, for players that just don't fit together.

If you wanted to make Derozan your star player you add Guys like Ilyasova, Delfino, Guys who can shoot, will play some D (not elite, but they at least play on both ends) and free up space for Derozan and JV to operate.

I think it has more to do with East teams simply whiffing on picks and making bad trades.

Cavs have had 4 top 4 picks in the last 3 drafts and have what to show for it?

Lol @ the Bynum contract being bizarre, that comment actually managed to make me laugh out loud. Stopped reading after that.

Either impeccable trolling or a shocking lack of sense.

10/10

cavs are easily the worst run team in the league at this point

i mean the knicks got handcuffed by overpaying fradulaent superstars but the cavs actually had a chance to go somewhere

Sad but true

Boston Celtics (8-12): The Celtics are like bad cake in a bakery that otherwise only sells things that will kill you. Just Skittles embedded in undercooked polenta with a Carmex glaze. When I look at their box scores, I marvel that a team that plays Kelly Olynyk 23 minutes a game and allows its offense to occasionally run through Jordan Crawford has actually won an NBA game, but it’s happened eight times. Plus, they have Rajon Rondo coming back at some point. They might end up with the fourth seed in the East.

The east is so bad they might have to trade some players out to tank properly.

Who did the Cavs outbid for Bynum, can't recall at the moment.

Dallas. I'm sure they were other teams that wanted him. Heat wouldn't mind having him for the minimum either. In such a contract it's a low risk high reward case.

Why even get mad about that?

Bynum gets a 2 year 24 million offer from the Cavs

Only 6 million is guaranteed, to get the full 12 this year he would have to hit performance based incentives.

The second year is a team option.

Bynum is already playing back to backs and logged a season high 30 minutes last game while putting up 20/10. Oh yeah, he also had 3 blocks.

But Giri claims it's a bad contract. LMAO, what a clown.

Link?

I thought there were 0 incentives and that it was 6 mil guaranteed for the first year then the entire 12+ is guaranteed if he isn't waived by the beginning of January and then the second year 12 mil becomes guaranteed if he is still on the team by July.

1st year hinges on incentives, 2nd would be fully guaranteed but there's a team option. This contract is the definition of low risk, high reward.

No need to be a dickhead. I did google it and this was the first result: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/23/andrew-bynums-contract-contains-no-performance-based-incentives-just-6-million-guaranteed/

Sounds like only 6 mil is guaranteed until January 7th but he is owed the whole 12mil if he either clears waivers by the 10th or is on the Cavs roster by the 11th. And the second year becomes guaranteed in July if his option is picked up.

I don't even think the Contract it self is bad. They did the smart thing in putting it on a TO for the second year completely unguaranteed. It just makes no sense for the cavs roster. Especially when they have so many area's of need, to tie so much money up on such a long shot.

And Bynum isn't going to have a long career. Guy is only 26 but would have had to come close to missing 200 career games due to injuries. All of the injuries are particularly worrisome for a 7 footer. One injury away from being out of the NBA, and probably out before he's 30 regardless.

It reeks of the short sightedness that the FO had when LBJ was there.

Try harder?

People actually thought that was a playoff team. It was always a swing for the fences to sign Bynum. Leading people to believe that he'd do anything at all when it comes to producing?

Cavs are the Wii U of the NBA

Guys the cavs were dumb to tie up 24M (soooo much money) on a former All-Star center. What a terrible move, makes no sense.

Try harder?

Cavs are the Wii U of the NBA
Wii U has the best holiday lineup and more quality software than PS4/XBO at the moment.

Stupid comparison, try harder.

I'm sitting here laughing so hard that you're insuaiting the Cavs aren't a playoff team. News flash: the whole East has gotten off to a bad start.

Obviously it is for you.

Your link is from Jul 11th. A couple weeks later the actual details emerged.

http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/2013/07/nba-news-andrew-bynums-contract-details-emerge/
Andrew Bynum contract: $12.25M this year; $6M guaranteed. Becomes full if not waived by Jan. 7. $12.54M in 14-15 if not waived by July 10

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/23/andrew-bynums-contract-contains-no-performance-based-incentives-just-6-million-guaranteed/
The two-year deal, the details of which were revealed by ShamSports.com, calls for base salaries of $12,250,000 and $12,540,000. However, only $6 million of the first season is guaranteed if Bynum is waived before 5 p.m. Jan 7 (and will become fully guaranteed if he doesn’t clear waivers before Jan. 10), and none of the second season is guaranteed until July 11, 2014.

Come back to us when you've finally learned how to Google properly, ie, check the dates.
