Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

I'm trying to figure out the noob-friendliest way of doing it. Does the game actually crash (to desktop) when you select fullscreen or do you just get a black screen (with the game still responsive)?

Its weird, as soon as I set any custom resolution and start the game windowed, its fine and playing at 60fps.

As soon as I toggle to fullscreen, game quits running completely and all windows close.

Set the resolution back to 1080p native, toggle to fullscreen, game continues working but locked at 24 FPS.

They're going to have to patch it. I think I'm done with it until they do so. :/

It really feels great to get right back into it.

Did they patch the difficulties in MGR in one of the DLC updates? There are certain things on Hard difficulty that I distinctly remember, and it feels like certain enemies have gotten updated. Either that, or I'm crazy. I could be crazy. Not ruling that out. For example, I don't remember the Gorilla enemies blocking a perfect parry quite as much. I thought it always resulted in a stun on Hard. Also, the dual sword guys show up a little bit earlier, if I'm not mistaken. If they did, that's awesome because it feels much better than I remember.

The game runs a little slow on my machine, but my machine is also kind of crappy. There were other people having framerate issues, right? Anyone have a solution for that?

Raiden is untouched I think, but on Jetstream Sam's DLC they definitely made the enemies much more aggressive to make up for the fact that your charge attacks are meant to be your bread and butter.

Totally our of the loop with this game and this thread, can someone tell me how the port is and if it supports 16:10 screens, as I'm 1920*1200

Yeah, I know Sam's variant enemies are really different, far more aggressive, and have new moves. I meant the main game. The more I think about it, the more I might have just been imagining it.

I'm just glad you don't have to worry about maintaining a combo in this game. I would die.

High combos for S-ranks!

I was having the 24 Hz problem in fullscreen and managed to fix it by editing a value in memory (02DB2618) to force 60 Hz. Not a proper fix but it works if you want to go that route.

Is that a static piece of memory? Isn't that value going to change every time? Better to find yourself a pointer or hex edit it.

I'll probably do a playthrough on 720p but that what it seems like for some people for right now.

Yeah.

I'm glad people are having fun with it and it runs pretty well, but playing in a window and throwing a bunch of fixes at a wall until something sticks isn't what I signed up for.

Damn this game is fun.

Running all High, 8xMSAA, 16xAF, 1080p... flawless 60fps. Doesn't look that great, definitely a last gen title, and I hate the pre-rendered stuff, but the game is fun.

670GTX OC Windforce

Haven't played much (just about to fight the first metal gear) I really like the controls and the movement so far

The only thing that I don't like is the Blade mode controls, I remember somebody in the old thread making a useful post about it and what's the best control method for it, anyway remember that or have a link because I want to try it ?

I found the 59 thing weird as well, but oddly this solution didn't work for me and I still get 59 instead of 60, no big deal really but a bit strange.

GTX 670 and an LG IPS234 monitor.

When you press buttons to execute slashes in blade mode, the horizontal slash will always perfectly follow the HUD guide. So you only need to manipulate the camera until the guide lines up with the red square, or for more complicated cuts you can manipulate both sticks but do a finger claw to use the button instead of the analog to cut so it's more precise.

Also, the analog stick cuts when you release it back to neutral, not when you push it across the middle, so it's perfectly adequate to just line it up and let go or just flick the stick in blade mode.

It's all very counter-intuitive but it can be very precise with some practice.

People with fullscreen problems should look into refresh rates for their monitor. The game is 24-30Hzs, you should config your overscan to that. At least for AMD cards it fixes the problem.

I tried to give out tips in the game's group chat and got yelled at about how parrying can be exploited by just mashing buttons and flicking the stick. Or how the game is broken because you don't take damage when you block. Or how blocking IS parrying, and there's no timing involved. I'm just wrong no matter what, it seems.

My head is spinning. Anyways, I tried giving out tips on the discussion board, but that was easily buried, and I submitted them as a 'guide' but the community hub for Rising is broken.

I think I might need to turn in, this game is too hype.

Well the map usually has a waypoint on it, but if you are where I think you are turn on enhanced AR and look at the walls.

I'm playing on the lowest settings possible, and even then there's some slowdown during Zandatsus and lots of explosions. I know my laptop's not the greatest, but I feel like I should be able to get more out of it, no?:

•3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM Processor (2.3 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)
•NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 630M Graphics with 1GB GDDR3 memory [HDMI, VGA]
•8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Mashing? Parrying is easy on Easy/Normal. Tell them to play on Hard.

Lol, I was also unaware of a dodge move.

Great game! I'm a few chapters into it now-seems a bit longer than I was expecting which is nice (I had heard 4 hours? Though I'm not surprised experienced people can plow through this game quickly).

I don't really know where the complaints about Revengeance being so short came from. My first playthrough on Hard was eight hours, dead on, and the in-game 'Time Played' counter doesn't count the cutscenes.

I guess I just don't see the benefit of a single button dodge when the two-button dodge includes one of your attack buttons already. Then again, I guess keyboards are a whole different ballgame.
Pressing single button > pressing two buttons in terms of ease and less chance of messing up.

This and all games ever.

RULES OF NATURE

Third Wind of Destruction down. Didn't get this far on console last time. Game is so ridiculously good.

How do I access the DLC anyway?

So I'm running a gtx 660 and an i5. 1080p, fullscreen, msaa8x, and anisotropic 16x. It won't go to 60fps. :/ the highest it goes is 59. Any way I can fix this? It's annoying.

Hmmm, I fucked up the part where you're supposed to use "Enhance Mode" to get some guys left arm to open a locked door. What did I do wrong?
