Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

Damn the game is pretty badass. I must admit I died 5 times during the first chapter. The camera was a bit akward during the first fight.

I'll try that, thanks. I have RadeonPro but have never used it; been using D3DOverider for triple buffering to avoid using in-game V-Sync. Guess I would need to disable it first?
Personally I would just remove D3DOverrider entirely, last time I tried it it would conflict with all post processing injectors like SweetFX and such. So I just use RadeonPro for triple buffering.

Oh and heads up to anyone else, the D3D tweaks in RadeonPro work for green team as well. I'm on Nvidia myself, but it still works great.

Enjoying the optional Codec convos, it's taking me back to the golden days of MGS. I like how you can skip individual lines without muting the character for the next ones.

Lol at Doktor outing himself as a huge perv when he says that Mistral's boobs might be real after close investigation just from the quick footage he got from Raiden when he first saw her zooming from far away.

Zangeki mode FPS drop as low as 29FPS. Anyone else have that problem and a solution?

Anyone else getting lower FPS in Zangeki mode? See not many people are mentioning this.

Now getting around 40FPS but solid 60FPS everywhere else.

CPU: Intel I7 930 2.8 OC'ed @ 4.1Ghz

Zangeki mode let's you cut things in more pieces, so obviously the more you cut, the more the FPS will drop. It takes a lot of juice from the CPU.

I've posted this before. Try turning off Blur, it helped me and another Gaffer increase our FPS during High ZANGEKI.

But his CPU is better than mine but mine doesn't drop till ~600 parts and even then only to 55.

Try turning off hyperthreading and see what happens.

Haha holy shit at the final boss, that was pretty crazy. So yeah, finished the game, it was super short but very sweet. Definitely worth the 16e, now I need to play something a bit slower tho lol

Someone had mentioned some first timer tips that are great to know going into the game, because maybe the game doesn't explain things very well, or something..

Anyway, what were those tips again??

I just started playing, got through the opening segment on Hard... I don't really feel like I understand the mechanics. I'm just button mashing and trying to parry as much as I can, though I'm not sure I understand that mechanic well either..

All tips would be appreciated.

That's weird. I have a weaker rig (i5, GTX 660) but running high Zangeki and Zantime I've done more than 1000 pieces without the framerate going below 60 fps.

Platinum really needs to fix the resolution lock, not Durante.

I'm more concerned with the refresh rate thing. If even on GAF a lot of people needed help to get it to work, there must be tons of dudes out there upset with their purchase thinking the game just runs like crap.

Hey, turned of HT and still the same result, 40FPS in High Zangeki mode.

That is a good point.

I wonder how many people actually believe there is always-online DRM?

I'm sure in the Steam sale thread we will see plenty of people saying, 'Isn't that the game with always-online requirements? No buy.'

It is all about timing. You will understand the mechanic better if you learn the parry counter. You strike as soon as if you were just about to be hit by an enemy. Once you successfully strike at the right time Raiden will parry counter. Strike early and Raiden will block the attack.

It is helpful to know that you need to be facing at them. Not just randomly striking at any direction.

The best way to practice this is on R-06 chapter. The whole boss fight heavily rely on parry counter. It is even more better on Revengeance difficulty because the amount of damage you can inflict on Sam through parry counter.

Tip: cancel the animation frames with a tap of blade mode.
Better with Defensive Offensive. You can still continue your string of combos without being interrupted.

my god. Hard is killing me right now.
Blade Wolf
is straight up curb stomping me. I'm trying to parry, but it's not working so hot.

He is also playing a wait and see approach as we believe Platinum will provide signficant support for this title.

They really need to. Durante can't continue to be a cop out for shitty 'limitations'.

Anyone know how to force an update check on steam? It still hasn't patched my copy for the offline thing.

Delete the game exe and the steam_api.dll and check the file integrity. It didn't update for me either and I had to do it this way.

The right thing to do. Don't give devs the idea they can push out whatever lacking quality their game is and expect it to get fixed by the community everytime.

Surprised people are having trouble parrying, the window is pretty big even on hard. I think this is the first game where I've actually had no struggle what so ever with understanding when to do so. Of course, that doesn't mean I always pulled off perfect ones or was never hit.

Torashio:

How likely is it to get PC ports of:
El Shaddai
NeverDead
No More Heroes

Not very. You're talking a game with multiple publishers, a game that was a critical bomb, and a game we were only involved in a very strict capacity (Grasshopper -> Ubisoft -> Marvelous AQL -> Konami).

Any relevant teams behind these development projects have since dissolved, making that even more difficult. We'd have to see an significant increase in demand of these products... Not so say it's impossible, but just unlikely at this time.
