I wish. I would have turned that dumbass LED off and I wouldn't have forced an unblockable notification for when the controller is set to turn off after a set time of inactivity.
[YOUR DUALSHOCK 4 IS OFF. I know you're watching Dexter on Netflix, but hey! YOUR DUALSHOCK 4 IS OFF.]
sony is going to release a non-lightbar version of the ds4
i think someone else said that its not as easy as this...its shared power with some other components? could be wrong...trying to find that thread someone posted.
if you turn the controller off while watching Netflix it pauses the video
*starts searching for that image of your avatar with the eyes cutout.I don't even notice it tbh..
Not true. Let the controller time out and auto-shutoff. Then the video plays just fine. What does suck is that when you re-turn on the controller it asks you to log in before letting you control netflix.
yeah thats actually the most annoying thing to me. having to select my user account every time my controller auto shuts off.

This opens the door for the next dual-shock version (has a light switch on it).
So we've moved to the, "you're holding it wrong" argument? To everyone in this thread:
Set your controller to auto turn off after 10 minutes. Does not pause Netflix when it does.
Problem solved.
Also, like i've said previously, I think the people having a problem with the light on the TV is because of how you hold the controller. Set the Dualshock on a flat surface...the light actually points DOWN.
At least for me, when I play, I don't keep my elbows and the controller tilted up. So the light has always pointed downwards for me, and never been an issue.
As someone who doesn't own the camera, what's the fucking point of it then?
I don't even notice it tbh..
You don't have a PS4 do you? When turning the controller off in Netflix the video pauses.
No, it needs a disable option. It serves no purpose without a camera and it's obnoxiously bright.

You do not have to like its features but that is factually wrong.
Oh well. The DS4 looks down right sexy with the blue light so there's that...
No update to allow users to disable it or no update to allow developers to disable it? Or both.
Not allowing users to disable it completely can probably be justified but surely developers should be able to disable/dim it for ambient effects.
How? If you have no camera it has no purpose. A game can't integrate it without being able to see it.

Light is used to:
1. tell if controller on. (ir wont work)
2. tel wich player the controller belongs to. (ir wont work)
3. give ambient light effects. (ir wont work)
4. tracking controller (ir is enough)

Goddammit. Can we at least get an option to dim it? Fucker clearly shines through the tape I put over it and reflects in my TV.
That's a shame. I guess they'll be packing the camera in every time in the future?
Yes, because there's no one on a gaming enthusiast message board who plays video games for hours at a stretch.
This is one of the things they clearly got very wrong when reading the features that the X1 controller would have lol.
lol so many OCD anally retentive ppl on GAF.
