Some of these recent zones have some incredible density.

Sadly I have to stop playing the game because it crashes as soon as I start the cut-scene go to meet Triss in Novigrad. Same thing happens in another mission and I believe the cause is that bloody1.21 patch.

No. But that brings me to another problem: those other star systems require upgrades to your warp drive. Upgrades the game will seemingly decide to give you at random. And I've yet to get a single one of them...

I wonder if cheat engine could find a way to give them...I am getting sick of grinding for one, I want to explore some lush planets lol.

Just use cheat engine for unlimited everything (if exploration and taking screen is your only joy in the game, I know its the only thing I care about). Then just go for finding/buying new ships. I got my upgrades for the warp reactor at one of the crash sites and other upgrades through buying/finding a 48 slot ship.

Edit: the cheat engine pack I am using has unlimited warp distance now... http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=594022&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

As you use an UW monitor, perhaps it's gfx related: set the game in windowed mode in a lower res, e.g. 1920x1080, then try to go through the cutscene?

I tried that too. It crashed in windowed and borderless window mode but I'll try dropping the resolution to 1440p. It's odd that it only happens during some cut-scenes. I had the movie framerate limit set to 60fps in my user config and putting that back down to 30 didn't resolve the issue either, so I have no idea what could be causing it. Oh well..Triss will just have to wait for a patch I guess..:-s

Sometimes No Man's Sky can look pretty alright... but usually not. Even when it does look nice, there's this awful shadow banding.

Is there a way I can move cheats to another table? I like dead end thrills table because of the ability to remove vingette and add free cam etc but I want that unlimited warp distance and atlas lock bypass...

Open both tables. Select a script you want to copy and CTRL+C as you'd expect. Then CTRL+V in the other table and voila, it will be copied over.

I've pretty much given up on this game though. The only thing this game has going for it is the opportunity to maybe present you with an interesting looking planet, but once you get over taking a few screenshots, there's just nothing to do there. And the long flights between planets isn't worth getting disappointed over and over again.

And still lots of aliasing at 6880x2880

(composition is very boring, I just started the game and started Ansel, so the whole situation is fairly random) Downsampled from 15K (124MP!) and cropped. Used in-game ansel tools to tweak the colors/contrast stuff a bit. I'm running a GTX780 so output with this resolution is of course great.

The in-game tools lock the mouse, so any mouse based reshade helper tooling (like auto-focus selection in the DoF) is not going to work and if you're rendering using the super resolution, any depth-buffer based reshade shader isn't going to be used, at least not the way you'd like, so better disable dof before rendering.

It's a neat tool which could be helpful in situations where no freecamera tools are available. Though a DoF option in Ansel would be very helpful.

Ansel shots just look terribly flat. That Ciri shot above is a great example. More detail does not outweigh the loss of AO, bloom, and other shaders.

Is there somewhere it states AO and bloom are changed for Ansel, or is this a comment on the settings changed for that particular shot?

Also it's hardly a showcase example to judge it on, seeing as the framing is just a close-up of a character's face in the shadows without much other visual interest. Ansel seems to be just providing a more interactive manner of capturing similar functions available already using mods and DSR panos.

This is how tileshots tend to work. It breaks the effects\shaders in this game just like it did for Unreal Engine games. Examples:

See the missing bloom and god rays?

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/181469

AO, bloom, water shader... all missing.

And in that one, you see that ansel can't handle whatever witcher sense is doing, and therefore looks completely fucked.

The game looks much better at more moderate downsampling resolutions where these issues are not nearly as prevalent, and where we have ReShade to get some of those effects back.

And this is vanilla? Pretty considerable differences. Would be worth quoting in the other thread. Will have to see how smaller resolutions fare, seeing as these are 32000x16000 behemoths.

Edit: ah here we are

It certainly looks like some postprocessing is missing in the superressed shots: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/181483

It's less pronounced here but I honestly was expecting Ansel to be more like an interactive overlay on top of the existing game settings. Defeats the purpose if some settings are borked.

It was some 26MB update for me.
I think it was because I had to update to 1.22 too (I was still on 1.21)

Would make sense, I think: there's not really a thing called 'screen space' so any screenspace tricks are rather tricky with tiled rendering. Not sure how they'll do reflections now or SSAO. The in-game DoF is also gone in ansel. This is also true for photomode2in1 btw (and why I wrote the little depthhaze shader to begin with). The missing in-game DoF is particularly cumbersome as the LoD isn't the strongest in this game.

I would be surprised they can do AO and other screenspace effects in tiled rendering, as that's very tricky considering AO has edge of screen problems. The comparison shots on this page confirm that: no bloom/ao and likely also no screenspace reflections. With photomode2in1 and reshade which can access the depth buffer so all the goodness that comes with it, I think ansel is 'nice' but not really useful. It could be useful for games where camera hacks are hard/impossible, but TW3 isn't one of these.
