Activisions mis-information on Nuketown Exclusivity to Game.co.uk in the UK

Is this only for the deluxe edition if going digital? Does it not come with the standard digital version?

The Eurogamer article says that digital pre-orders should get it, but I've not seen confirmation from anyone here. Possibly because the digital price is silly at £55.

I does my head that GAME get all the exclusive stuff as far as retailers go in the UK. I guess it's to try and make up for the high prices but it still amazes me how they are always given the good stuff.

It annoys me but it doesn't surprise me. They are the only major specialist retailer left. They push pre-orders so the distributors love them and want to keep them sweet.

I am surprised that people still buy enough stuff from them to keep them going.

It doesn't mention it, but the OP mentions that it's exclusive until Spring 2016. Might be part of it, or might be separate DLC when it properly launches.
More likely is that, as with previous bonus maps - Nuketown 2025 and also Freefall in Ghosts (which was IWs attempt to make a Nuketown-like tiny chaotic map) get released free for everyone around March time.

so today I am going down to CEX to sell my standard copy for £36, ordered a new version from Amazon France for £41.67 (includes Nuketown)

Paid £37.13 at shopto, so will cost me £6 extra to get Nuketown...I can live with that

Oh yeah, you're right.

Was comparing it from Black Ops 2. I would assume they would use that system for Black Ops 3, but let's see.

I hope so this is extra scummy of activision I feel bad for you guys. I thought all digital versions came with nuketown if you preorder not sure if thats only in the US or what.

sucks for those that want it

but that code will never be redeemed by me....fuck that map. I never want to experience it in the rotation.

Apart from the fact this false advertising is all Activision and nothing to do with GAME.

People really do reach to hate on GAME sometimes

So activation send out a mass email to all retailers saying, we'd like one of you offer to exclusively buy the most popular map for a game and hold it to ransom on standard physical copies for as long as you are willing to pay for?
Or did GAME go to activision and throw money for an exclusive content deal of some description? so they'd have an advantage of the competition and draw in customers to pay their prices

False advertising surely lies at Activisions lazy ass door, but the issue stems from retailers effectively tying to gain some sort of a monopoly on a game

Retailer exlusives are terrible, but in the UK GAME are the only ones to ever get them and the also happen to be the most expensive retailer on the high street

furthermore they are the only high street retailer due to aggressive purchasing of competitors to gain that monopoly

I feel sorry for all who work for them, you want the company to survive for your sake, but consumers have voted with their wallets, its why GAME's always in some sort of trouble

So does anyone know if you get Nuk3town if you buy from UK PSN now? It's not mentioned, but then it wasn't before anyway.

Of course my Nuketown doesn't work even though it's installed. Just another point to add to the shittiness of this kind of exclusive map practice. Jump through the hoops to make sure to get the trinket and the mechanisms that are meant to exclude the other people get me anyway.

It's kind of like how every movie and TV show is pirated at its native resolution from broadcasts or blu-rays, so clearly HDCP isn't accomplishing much, yet a couple times a week HDCP screws up and I have to reboot my cable box.

Just learned there's a difference between support and ambassador chats...

I doubt anyone is driving pre-orders and season passes for this game as much as GAME. Forced isn't the word I'd use but I'm sure they could present a highly persuasive argument that a GAME exclusive is a good idea. Who else is going to be doing midnight openings for this game?

Supermarkets do midnight releases for every single game. GAME does nothing special by doing it only for a select few games per year.

My partner works nights at Tescos, said was a long queue of people and some started getting angry when realised no code, after a few started arguing with the counter staff and slowing the line down she and a few others had to go announce it to the entire queue, they were not happy and kept saying all pre-orders should have it.

Doesn't seem like this GAME only thing was general public knowledge.

I bought a standard copy for my son from Gameseek.co.uk and it contained a code for Nuketown.
Much cheaper than GAME's ludicrous prices too.

This is a crappy move by Activision. It's not really surprising to know they still allow corporate greed to trump any kind of responsibility to their customers.

Edit> incidentally, the game and code worked fine but the box contained a leaflet (in English) for PSN Plus which only had Scandinavian pricing.
I suspect Gameseek have gotten around this by using a European supplier or something.
Activision are a greedy joke.

With new EU law you can take back any game within 30 days for full price. I paid £42 at Tescos and I am considering returning it.

This is a little misleading. Sure they are open but they don't always have staff on the media desk, or have it out on shelf. I have been to two ASDAs at midnight and there was nobody to go back and get it because they hadn't even been put in security boxes yet. It really depends on the store's priorities. I do think some publishers are better at nudging supermarkets into better treatment.

My digital deluxe pre-order had nuke town - I got 50% off psn so I was paying less than retail.

Is this a PAL UK version game? Also does the code work on UK Psn?
Thanks
