Yep. I was like "Oh no she didn't..."

Also I'm laughing at how James March wanted her to kill him off property only for him to go "you know what? Fuck that. She said she didn't love me, her two-some has left. So I'm going to have the person she doesn't love stay with me despite me not liking him either."

If you think this season is bad, I can't imagine how you tolerated any of the others.

Loved the first two, hated the last two. Hotel is my third favorite season of the bunch, but the gap between second and third is pretty huge.

Aww yes, the Countess is on a warpath! Take control, Gaga.

Damn Liz, you told her. "Buy your own damn flowers." Maybe not the best decision in the long run, for your job security and, you know, your physical well being, but right now I'm loving that attitude.

Mmmh, Matt Bomer. He's a prize. He and the Countess even have similar hobbies. You know, blood orgies and stuff. Yep, definitely a keeper. Too bad he's being played.

Oh look, a new hunk. Be nice, Iris. He'll probably be dead soon.

Today several sheltered viewers learned what rimming is. American Horror Story: doing the lord's work.

ROFL, Iris, resident porn critic. Amazing.

No Miss Evers, don't let the cat out of the bag! I have to say though, she has an endearing mean streak.

Uh-oh, Matt Bomer is going to double cross Gaga? This can only end badly.

Lol, that poor hunk has to witness these two crazy vampires plotting against their vampire ex. I know that all of us can personally relate to this situation, but still, imagine what he must be thinking.

This time it's Ramona's turn for some backstory. The part with her parents was pretty damn tragic. It gives her some depth.

I love how Hulu streaming gave Ramona new life.

Hmm, maybe the vampire kids' storyline is finally going somewhere.

Oh snap, Matt Bomer is with Gaga after all!

Yes queen! Ramona dropping the truth. Matt Bomer is in fact pretty af. And probably also dumb for trusting the Countess, but what are you gonna do?

Damn Liz, that's one way to crash a wedding. Harsh but fair. I've got to give the round to the Countess with that bouquet move, though. She sure knows how to cut to the quick, even when she's not literally slitting your throat.

Mr. March cracks me up. Such a great performance.

RIP in peace Gaga's new husband. She will definitely probably shed a few tears for you once she's finished her popcorn. As widows do.

Loved the first two, hated the last two. Hotel is my third favorite season of the bunch, but the gap between second and third is pretty huge.
The first two are definitely the best as far as traditional seasons go, but the third is my favorite because the characters are ridiculously entertaining. The fourth is the weakest but I still enjoyed it. I think Hotel is shaping up to be the total package. Great characters, a good setting, and a good story.

I've thought this for a while now. She deserves death.
Definitely a possibility. I'm rooting for her though. I like villains with panache.

Such a rocky start but now this season is becoming really solid.

Only real complaint is that it's becoming so obvious they're working around the actors schedules to get stuff done. I feel like I've already forgotten about Wes Bentley and Sarah Paulson feels like she's barely done anything this season.

But an episode ago I would have said the same thing about Angela Bassett...

Still enjoying it but wish there was some way to make sure each arc is touched upon in some manner. Dare I say it.... Longer episodes?

Love that Gaga got Golden Globe nomination too. Well deserved IMO. Her character has been fantastic.

Was Gaga the only one nominated for a GG from the cast? She was hardly the best actress but she was definitely the star. I really love The Countess as a character too, so chilling and unpredictable.

I really thought Evan would get a nod at least for Mr. March

I think Murphy's insistence on keeping all of the same actors around every season is to the show's detriment. There's the schedule balancing, as you said, which completely wrecks the pacing and coherence of the narrative, but also after a certain number of times I have a hard time seeing past the actors. Like, I get that Evan Peters is doing good work as James March, but I can't see James March - only Evan Peters. If that makes sense. And it's the same with (most of) the other (annual) actors too.

A season that's better than the previous one, I didn't think Hotel could break the streak. I can't wait to watch the midseason finale.

Edit: "Bite Me" lmao! love gaga.

I loved that. Evan Peter's reaction was priceless.

Also if they're both dead right now because of Liz and his mom, I'm gonna laugh.

I think she is still alive, tbh I want her to kill everyone lol.

I also just want to say the choice of Lee-Ann Womack for that suicide video was pretty bang-on.

I think she's dead and will be a ghost, so will still play an important roll next episode. She's a good villain, but she fucked with, used and manipulated everyone in the show this season. She was bound to get hers. Fucking with Liz like that pretty much made me want her dead.

I dunno, they were firing wildly. And I doubt Kathy Bates would want to his Donovan, given she's his mother. Then again she was willing to kill herself because he hates her. So... *shrug*

yeah, I think Kathy would do it after she gave up on life. Who knows though. The countess being a ghost stuck in the hotel with her two husbands she screwed over would be great though lol.

Loved how everything has been ramping up and its only been getting better. I thought the first few episodes were a little boring with over done horror tropes, nonsensical unexplained things happening and a lot of characters. However everything has gotten better since the Halloween episodes which is surprising since usually everything starts to unravel after the Halloween episode.

This episode had a few funny moments like Iris' memorial video with her 3 followers and when Liz and Iris did a shoot out to hotline bling. Overall I'd say all the characters have gotten a lot of background and are pretty fleshed out with the exception of Sally. She hasn't done much recently other than her relationship with John. Also unlike all the other characters she seems disconnected from everyone else at the hotel. Has Sally even had a scene or conversation with the Countess or Alex?

I enjoyed that one because there were no distracting flashbacks and stuff actually happened.

Also, Liz's story was really sweet :^)

I don't really get their plan. Didn't Liz decide she wanted to live? If the Countess comes back as a ghost won't she just kill both of them immediately?

I'm not that far into the season as you guys.

Just had the episode with fallout 3 beginning demon baby.

I don't know what's happened to this series, I was somewhat enjoying it and it's fallen apart with stories that have come out of nowhere whilst others were forgotten.

Lady Gaga has been a G throughout though.

Damn, the plot's definitely moving now. This season has really benefited from giving most of the characters meaty backstories. I have no clue what some people are going on about when they call this season awful. It's doing all the right things, WTF. Well developed characters, a cohesive plot, and a great style and setting.

I loved Liz's reunion. My heart was actually pounding during the whole first scene at the bar because I thought the Countess was going to show up and knife Liz's son. Glad that didn't happen.

I honestly didn't expect both of the Countess's old lovers to bite it that quickly. Donovan isn't messing around. I laughed when both him and the Countess had their Indiana Jones moment and brought a gun to a knife fight. Welcome to the future, kids!

It's nice that the storyline with the pack of vampire children has been advancing so efficiently. I was worried they'd either be forgotten about or take up too much screentime. So far they've been handled well.

I was legit surprised when the husband that Gaga had just murdered made his entrance. Silly me, forgetting how the Hotel Cortez doesn't let anyone RIP.

What an ending with Iris and Liz! I love that they had their moment, but I'm honestly hoping that Donovan and the Countess both survive, slaughter everyone else, and take over the hotel. Flawless power couple.

Fortunately, that's not a problem in this season.

This happens every season. This is the first season that seems to be holding it together. It also isn't nearly as bad as other seasons in this regard. Even the series at its best was juggling aliens, demon possessions/exorcism, Nazis, etc.

Yeah I could see how people would root for the countess as she's been the center villain and a good one. Donovan, however, has been giant man baby feel sorry for me cause my mommy piece of shit the entire season.

That was a fun moment, but it didn't really make sense because guns were a thing in the 1920s too.

Aren't the rules for the ghosts the same as in Murder House? Can't she just move his body to a different location so his ghost won't show up at the Hotel Cortez anymore?
I don't remember if that was actually the case in Murder House or if it was just a fan theory btw.

Goddamn this episode was absolutely hilarious
The maid, hotline bling, the tribute video, cheeks for days

It was all great. Can really tell the next few episodes are going to be insane. March is going to flip his shit if the countess is dead

No, that wasn't the case. They just needed to die on the grounds.

The countess being trapped in an eternal hell of her own making. Multiple hated exes, actual BF she liked killed in a shitty motel.

I saved last night's episode, and am going to force myself to watch it this weekend. I have to, because my PVR is defective and I need to switch it out with a replacement I was sent.

I don't know why I keep watching this show, but it's been laughably bad again this season. All style, no substance.

Cheekbones for days tho.

Yep, lol. It was still a cheeky way to poke fun at those anachronistic characters. I'm OK with that.

I'm not sure. I just assumed that the hotel traps the ghost of whoever dies there. It would be interesting for the body thing to apply in this season. Someone could exorcise March, or even the Countess!

What do you call the endless backstory that establishes clear motivations for every major character? Which season are you watching, boo?

Cute cat. Good picture.

You're right. I should have written, style over substance, because that is at least true. They're more worried about sex, blood and costumes than a gripping story, and just keep throwing new things into the mix.

It all ends up being boring and convoluted.

Wasn't there a subplot about them having to dig up Moira's bones so she could move on or something?

They had that, but it also makes no sense because other people were obviously found murdered in the house with their bodies later removed, yet they are stuck in the house.
