Just great.
This is literally what tipped the direct from dull into outright awful to me.
What do you mean? It is a true AC, look at the title.i cant help buy laugh after all the ire i got from friends for saying wiiu will never see a true AC.
This game felt like a troll to the fans.
Worst case scenario I expected a by the numbers more of the same Animal Crossing for Wii U.
What in God's name is this shit?
What the fuck are they doing? I came into E3 with bare minimum expectations and somehow I still leave disappointed.
"Amiibo Festival"
Well, there it is. All of your frenzied irrational Amiibo purchases have led us to this point.
I hope you'rehappy.un
But the GameCube one is great! And City Folk wasn't bad because it wasn't a handheld, it was bad because they put no effort into it. If Nintendo is finally "realizing" what you're saying, they're crazy. To be fair, maybe this is a sign that Nintendo finally realized, after the mediocre City Folk, that AC just does better on handhelds.
The best console AC was, and still is, the GameCube original. We have New Leaf for the handheld space. They will inevitably make a new one for NX, which is supposed to be a console/handheld hybrid so no worries there.
Still, this was... a very bad announcement.
I am legitimately sad right now because of this. This one hurt the most... =(

Watching this unveil happen hurt my soul and crushed my dreams.
I love it. I wish they had called Animal Crossing Fortune Street
They basically decided to fuck with every franchise.
No AC Wii U : but a somehow average AC Mario Party.
No Metroid game : Metroid Prime co-op spin-off on 3DS.
No Zelda Wii U : Four Swords minus one.
What's next ?
Animal Crossing is much more suited to portable systems.. That said, this still looks awful.
This one hurt the most... =(
But it's not, it's on Wii U now.Not getting Animal Crossing on Wii U is the only comfort this Direct gave me.
This series needs to stay handheld.
Tom Nook knows what's up.
