Would anyone in this thread take it upon themselves to do the same? Honest question. I think Gaf get's a little to excited living vicariously sometimes.

video was kinda crappy, thought he'd put a little more energy into it.
Still pretty funny.

Personally? No, mainly because I would "crucified" by the right wingers as a terrible Liberal Socialist Obama voting Clinton voting Sanders voting Atheist who wants to destroy all freedoms in America.
It would be like proving their point.

Only positive thing that can be said here is that at least he did use Facebook to record himself torturing or murdering someone... Still, hope that "destruction of property" doesn't become the next "Big Trend" in idiots trying to make themselves famous.

I don't like it. But I'm glad the man didn't get hurt during the crash. I also hope he doesn't spend time in jail and gets the help he needs judging by his "Gwyneth Paltrow" thing.

I also question the intent to build a statue like that. I mean what did they expect? That it would be left alone?
What does one mean? Covet what? Anything? Seems straight up anti-capitalism.
Don't be extremely greedy/jealous of what you don't have/what your neighbor has.

Basically don't let it consume your life.

You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Money, property, and sex. Surprisingly, Christianity is less capitalist than one would imagine. For a good minute, Christians were expressly forbidden from charging interest on loans. Though this was before capitalism even existed formally.

Man, this thread is just embarrassing.
Give this man a medal and a cold beer.
Yeah, let's give a mentally unstable man who used his vehicle to destroy something he didn't agree with a reward because you also don't agree with it. Seriously?

After the tragedies of late involving vehicular murder and destruction, anyone who applauds this should be nothing but ashamed. Get this crap pulled down legally and safely.

That mugshot is amazing.

Even as a believer, it's super gaudy to have religious iconography/ motifs on or near any government property. I can't be too upset at the outcome, though its obvious this could have been handled better

Not arguing for it , just stating the reason it is allowed

It was originally authorized in 2015 in the Ten Commandments Monument Display Act, which defined the religious laws as "an important component of the moral foundation of the laws and legal system of the United States of America and of the State of Arkansas."
"Moral foundation." What's so immoral about coveting someone in the privacy of your own mind, or taking the lord's name in vain?

Maybe somebody should have replaced one of those useless rules with "don't rape" or "don't torture" or "don't hit your kids" or "don't be a big giant jerk to your cashier."

I don't think Taking the lord names in vain (which hilariously is something bible thumpers in the USA excel at) is about morality and more about "dude you subscribe to our religion, don't shit on the name of the lord".

The Covet thing i always figured that it's like, "coveting that which is not yours can lead to thievery, murder, adultery and lying" which basically seems like "don't put yourself in situations that might tempt you to break 2,6,7,8 and 9"

Well that shit was illegally put there and no one got hurt, so i guess he put those down legally and safely.

I'll buy this a guy a beer, and some xanax too.

Tax payers money well spent.

Uh, no tax payer money was spent on the first monument, nor will be spent on the replacement, according to the senator spear-heading the project.

Anyway, just dropped in to say Tyler Durden would approve.

As an omniscient being, God should have seen this coming and added
"PS: Ye shall not put a vehicle through a monument of the other 10 commandments"
I guess he could just throw this man soul into hell anyway, but at this point that wouldn't feel like fair play.

Anti-religious GAF's hard on is straight up disturbing.

Oh Jesus. It's not anti religious. I would oppose this even if I was Christian, similar to how I'll oppose monuments of any religion, be it Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Mormonism, or whatever. I'll also denounce any monument or symbol condemning religion, as that is equally unconstitutional.
Establishment Clause said:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...
That leaves two options as I see it. Either do not allow religious monuments to be built by the government on government property, or build it for all religions, even crazy ones like Satan worship. I'd love to see how far that second idea goes...

you might be surprised to learn that a bunch of christians don't like illegal monuments promoting one religion on public property either, it was only a matter of time until their blatantly theocractic act was gonna get ruled unconstitutional
