Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Hype/News/Info Thread (PC Dedicated Servers)

Some new screenshots of the MP are floating around, but can't post them as they are Game Informer magazine scans.

Two of the maps in particular look really nice, a rainy map and another map that features alot of overgrowth.

Also, supposedly, Specialist Strike Package doesn't unlock until level 80.

yeah the scans look pretty good, nice maps.

You sure it's GI? US Playstation mag has actual map layouts in it as well, with tips and such.

Has any there been any gameplay footage of the rest of the 16 maps, besides the five maps (Underground/Village/Paris/Dome/Plaza2) already shown?

No new gameplay footage has released since CoD XP.

According to another site, these screenshots are part of an Australian press kit, so I guess I can post these versions here.

Those are the images in the US PS mag.

Maybe the yellow things are strap clips? I know they move when you fire, i.e. not in a fixed position.

Activision should have let all the big Youtube directors capture a handful of full matches at XP and then allow them to post them on their channel throughout the month of October all the way up to the launch.

It's an extension of the charging handle, so it's easier to grab. You can see the sling mount next to where the stock meets the body, it's the small black circle.

That makes more sense. After I posted that, I saw the sling mount.

Not trolling, cause I love my CoD, but if you told me those were Black Ops screens I would've needed to look hard at them to decipher that they're from MW3. The first three look so similar to Kowloon, Crisis and Cracked.

I thought that was a screenshot of Kowloon at first. Had to do a double-take just to make sure that it wasn't.

1. Explosives do less damage.
2. Blast Shield perk reduces damage even further.
3. Trophy System destroys explosives from launchers.

Years later, people are still crying about grenade launchers. I for one, enjoy projectile weapons. What do you want, a war game with only bullets? Instahit weapons get boring. once I got settled into Mw2 I enjoyed a nice 3 to 1 ratio using all the perks weapons and equipment. Hell, playing Search and Destroy with just tubes is a great way to get killed. Turn sensitiviity up to 7 or 8, followed by OMA with C4 Riot Shield and SitRep always got me past claymores and 1 or 2 kills then Id switch over to Tar and AA12 or RPD cold blooded and RPG. If I rushed it was with the UMP and Akimbo Rangers. Seriously, what's the point in complaining?

If you haven't noticed that's four hugely different classes with entiirely different playstyles. I also had to play wth a different team than my friends who never had a strategy.

And believe it or not, my good matches skyrocketed in Black Ops, because noobs didn't know how to adjust to the new strengths and didn't have tubes to stop my streaks.

Find your groove, reap the excitement and rewards.

It's annoying how there isn't any footage of some of the guns that were unlocked at COD XP like the L86 and KSG.

I wonder if Activision is planning a flood of footage leading up to the release. It seems silly and stupid to allow EA to have spotlight now that they are about to start the Open Beta. Youtube will be flooded with video from it.

The thing is with COD people will buy it regardless, it doesn't need marketing.

I can't wait to play this game, i've been dying for a new mp game to play with my friends. I've been on sp games for quite some time now since I stopped playing Blops in February.

Simple, I think it's because it's not part of matchmaking. I don't know about the rest of the community, but I rarely play private matches, I don't even think I've ever done a private match in Black Ops with other people all this time.

It's nice that it's there though.

This is correct. People are just getting hung up on your description of "free with Elite" when "included with the subscription" is probably a better term.

an Elite membership is $50. You're paying $40 more than the standard version.

$10 difference.
