"David Duchovny Teases Twin Peaks Return: 'Yeah, I'll Shave My Legs'"

http://tvline.com/2015/10/12/david-duchovny-twin-peaks-revival-denise-bryson-showtime/

“There is a chance I’ll show up on Twin Peaks,” he told TVLine Saturday at New York Comic-Con, where he was promoting X-Files‘ January relaunch. Fearing the presumed wrath of franchise overlord David Lynch, who to date has only confirmed the return of Kyle MacLachlan’s Agent Cooper, Duchovny quickly added, “That’s all I can say. I’ve been frightened into silence.”

Pretty sure he'd already been confirmed but nice to hear him say it. Denise was one of the few highlights of Season 2 for me so count me very pleased.

New set photos released that are great papparazzi quality, looks like another casting addition based on one pic is Jennifer Jason Leigh. Location appears to be Mojave Desert. Perhaps a Big Tuna reunion? :p

Coop definitely looks evil in that one pic, assuming that's possessed Coop. With that getup and setting getting flashbacks to Pete Dayton/Fred Madison from Lost Highway. Maybe similar themes being visited here?
Either way this is shaping up to be one hell of a production with a much larger scope than just cozy ol' Twin Peaks.

Will try and host images elsewhere if link doesn't post as its dailymail so bear with me if it's blocked initially.

Sam Lake (of Remedy) is a demon.

Alan Wake, as many know, features a location based directly on the real world RR diner.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare features a motel. In the Mojave desert.

THAT IS CLEARLY BASED ON THE SAME EXACT MOTEL SEASON 3 HAS NOW FILMED AT.

DEMON.

Holy shit. Full circle.

I remember finding that location in the DLC fairly memorable when I played. It just got even more special.

delayed to 2017 – http://www.factmag.com/2015/11/03/david-lynchs-twin-peaks-revival-delayed-to-2017/

David Lynch’s upcoming series has been pushed back to 2017, as Deadline points out. Of course, this was the original release plan for the series until Showtime President David Nevins recently said they had started production to try and hit a 2016 premiere. A new statement from Showtime’s Q3 earnings call has confirmed that the network is sticking to the original plan to deliver more Twin Peaks in 2017.

Also, the number of episodes have been doubled from 9 to 18.

David Lynch and Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost wrote the new set of episodes as one extended movie, which will be cut into episodes once they’ve reached the editing phase. Plans originally called for nine installments, but that number has since doubled to eighteen.

I thought double the eps and 2017 premiere has been known for awhile? I haven't been following the news too closely but that was my sense.

Either way, just so glad it's back on track. Can't wait.

Albert is back.

‘Twin Peaks’ Follow-up Series: Miguel Ferrer To Reprise Role

Deadline said:
Another Twin Peaks fan favorite is heading back to David Lynch’s upcoming new installment of his groundbreaking 1990 mystery for Showtime. No one is commenting but I have learned that Miguel Ferrer is set to reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield from the original series in the new season, set to debut in 2017. In eight episodes of the 1990 series, Ferrer played Rosenfield, a cynical city slicker FBI forensics specialist who butted heads with Twin Peaks Sheriff Harry S. Truman.

18 episodes is not confirmed, only that there will be "more than 9". They're going to shoot all the scenes as one big movie, then chop it up into episodes, so the exact number will be determined during editing.

Great news about Ferrer, one of the highlights of the show for sure. Also, 2017+18 episodes has been known for awhile now. Maybe this is just first time an official announcement has been made? Also, I heard October is the month it's slated to premiere.

Something I haven't seen mentioned here is the book being written by Mark Frost that is to be released prior to the new season which will essentially fill in the gaps of what went down in those 25 years, could be an interesting read. Curious how he'll broach the Cooper+Lodge stuff if at all. Will seem weird reading about anything related to that seeing as its impact is so reliant on visual language. Kinda don't want to read it all due to that and go into the season blind and maybe read it after the fact.

Lynch is also trying to get Naomi Watts into the show as well. If anyone knows how to utilize her its Lynch, would be a fantastic get. Nothing she's done since Mulholland has come close imo, talk about an under-utilized talent.

She and Lynch are interviewed together on the Mulholland Dr Criterion release, and that was shot fairly recently. Wouldn't be surprised if that reconnection was what prompted him to invite her to join Twin Peaks...

That sounds like a not-very-good idea, to be honest. I imagine it will screw up the pacing on individual episodes.

Just made a Twin Peaks inspired Mario Maker level. Not hard, but meant to be creepy.
