DC Extended Universe |OT3| A League of Academy Award Winners

According to rumors JL is anywhere from 0 to 170 minutes in length. Some seem convinced it’ll land around 120 minutes, which seems quite short. We’ll see.

Here’s hoping WB and Whedon learned from past mistakes and don’t go crazy cutting up the movie.

That rumor has already been halfway disproven. Nobody knows the final run time yet.

Apparently a few Aussie theatres are saying its 118 mins. If its true, I dont see how such a short runtime can work with a movie like this honestly.

Probably just a placeholder though. I hope.

120 minutes would be great

Avengers 2 felt like a damn chore in theaters. The first one is boring af as well until the final act. Just throw these bums together in a room. Crack some jokes, dig superman out the grave and punch some shit. End of movie.

It's yet another alien invasion plot. It's not like there's much room for interesting developments in here. I think they can get away with not having major lengthy intros for the new characters

Ezra and Momoa look vibrant enough to sell people on the solo movies in just a few minutes. Hell I'm already more hyped for aquaman than any of these other ones aside from Batman and black panther.

Cyborg tho. He just ain't shining much in the trailers.

Most of the Avengers cast had movies before this team up movie. Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg didn't have that.

Aquaman and Flash really don't look like they'll need to sell many people on their characters. From trailers alone I can tell they're gonna kill it

It's not really about selling those characters, more of a problem that there hasn't been a journey for them, so emotional impacts may lack.

Honestly, I don't belive this movie will be 2h long. 20-30 minutes longer than that.

Aquamamoa is already having quite the emotional impact on every straight woman (and gay man) I've talked to about the movie, I think he'll be fine.

:p

Ugh, this bullshit about no lead up movies needs to stop. It's such a weak stance to have. You don't need 5 appearances of a character before you can care about them.

yeah. and tbh I still don't give a shit about most of the avengers roster after the myriad of movies they've had. caring about any of these guys is more a symptom of the movies themselves rather than having (or not having) something before the big ensemble

this has been done numerous times before, solo movies being required is such a reductive idea

where's our Oceans Eleven Origins or Before Seven Samurai movies at btw.

Oh yeah, I remember the big emotional impact I felt with the first Avengers.

What I mean is, if you want emotional impact you've already got 3 major characters established and a bunch of side characters. You don't need the newcomers to carry the "heart" of the film. Momoman is there to look cool, Ezra is there to crack jokes, and Cyborg is there to wonder why he's there in the first place.

So i guess this leak is right? Has the same line of saving people in it.

ViewerAnon posted this on SHH:

Wonder Woman and Cyborg are pretty similar to Black Widow and Hulk, without the romantic aspect. He's scared of the scope of his powers. He's getting stronger and doesn't know why. When we first meet him in an apartment, he's just learned he can fly for the first time. Diana is a calming presence, convincing him to trust the others and that he can control himself. He's always in conflict, especially when his Kryptonian suit keeps trying to attack Superman on its own.

Set piece 1: The bank scene, where a group of terrorists try to murder men, women, and children. Roose Bolton unloads an automatic rifle on the group (DIANA: They're children. ROOSE: And they always will be.), but she blocks every bullet.

Set piece 1A: Steppenwolf arrives with parademons through a portal and steals the mother box from the Amazonians. They try to play keep away with the box. As each Amazonian dies, she ties the box to an arrow and fires it to the woman in front of her. But Steppenwolf catches it and disappears with the box.

Set piece 1B: Atlantis. Steppenwolf shows up for the mother box. Mera tries to stop him but he throws her against the wall. Steppenwolf disappears with the box just as Aquaman arrives.

Set piece 2: Joe Morton and members of Star Labs are being held hostage by parademons as Steppenwolf searches for the human mother box. This is the first scene with the League together, minus Superman. Flash is freaked out because he's never gone into battle before. Batman tells him just to save one person. "What do I do after that??" "You'll know."
They manage to save the hostages (mainly Flash getting them out), but Steppenwolf overpowers the group. This is happening under Gotham harbor. An explosion causes a cave in and water to come rushing, but Aquaman appears and saves everybody (this is his first scene with the group). The bit from the trailer with Aquaman chuckling at Batman's costume is here, not with the bat signal. Look closely at the ground and you can see he's standing on rock.

Set piece 3: The resurrection of Superman, who is confused and attacks the JL team when they find him again by the broken statue. He grabs Batman ("Tell me... do you bleed?") and throws him into a police car. (There's a funny bit with Batman in pain on the ground saying, "Yeah, something is definitely broken.") Lois appears - Bruce apparently sent for her - and she hugs Clark. He then flies with her to the Kent farm, which has been sold.

Set piece 4: The final battle. Steppenwolf unites the three mother boxes at a nuclear power plant in Russia. The League arrives. He knocks them around. Superman turns up and turns the tide. (At one point, Flash and Superman race to save civilians. Flash gets to a family in a truck and pushes them to safety. He thinks he won, but he looks over and sees Superman is carrying a whole apartment building full of people.)
In the end, Steppenwolf, frightened, is attacked by parademons who kill him (FX were unfinished, but I think they drag him through a portal). His helmet clangs back to the ground.

oh wow that seems really legitimate considering everything we've gotten so far. don't click if you want to go in surprised (I shouldn't have)

tbh everything involving superman there sounds kinda awful but the rest I can vibe with.

Jup. Remember the leak of the scene where Diana and Trevor are talking about sex? Turned out pretty good.

Whew that thread was good and ultimately what we got wasn't even offensive. It's all about how it's interpreted. One person describing something isn't the end all be all.

I STILL remember a critic said WW's 3rd act was disastrous. When I saw that movie I was like "That was ok."

The part I'm iffy on though...

I'm all for Superman returning confused as fuck. By issue is why he "attacks" Batman? His last memory should be of him killing Doomsday.

Dead

well not really...yet
Snyder apparently liked a comment on Vero asking if Justice League is 170 minutes.

Who the fuck knows.

Did anybody else catch that poster image at the end of the flash trailer? I wonder if that will be actual posters for all of them? Not sure I like it or not. Reminds me of Thise X-men crotch posters

Also that leak makes a ton of sense also in regards to
alfred talking to Superman. They all knew Superman was alive, but he had left to be with Lois. They were expecting him, but didn’t know when

At some point she says he needs to stop grieving for his parents, and he tells her she doesn't have room to talk when she ran away from the world for a hundred years because her boyfriend died.

Maybe it's just the angle but Batman's mask looks puffier in that Flash promo than it was in BvS. I didn't notice it in any of the promo shots though, maybe it's just that one scene.
Probably a reshoot scene

Whedon couldn't find the actual mask so he bought one from Party City
