Who's to say H3H3 are not the ones doctoring information here?
Anyway, Youtube must get their shit together on what can and can't be put up on their site, not just what can and can't be advertised. As long as things stay like this, this was always going to happen.

So the UK organizations that pulled out well before the WSJ article were also doing it with fake information?

Obviously not. The people trying to claim that the entirety of the YT movement to curb monetization of hate driven content all started because of WSJ are incorrect or uninformed. Its very clear that isn't the case.

However if a WSJ writer doctored photos thats clearly wrong also, without in any way justifying the people who create bullshit hateful content on youtube btw. The bolded is important. Its very possible for someone within WSJ to have done something unethical, but that would in no way justify the horseshit that goes on on YT these days at all.

Now its really just a matter of seeing whether or not the screenshots were actually even doctored, because it seems people didnt consider that videos can actually have ads on them even before being "monetized".

Look, the screenshot put out by WSJ has a thumbnail for a video that was created months after the video (which has an ad playing in the image) was demonetized.

If you were to go to the video right now you would not get any ads what so ever.

That has nothing to do with this, the video wasn't claimed, it was demonetized because it was inappropriate content.

Ethan provided good rationale for why those screenshots were fake beyond the screenshots he got.

Ok, so the wsj has an axe to grind against youtubers/google, wtv. That's not a good lool, but two wrongs don't make one right, the fact that that video was advertised ar all, or that it is in a place where my seemingly respected company is advertising would make me as an exec consider to pull the plug.

Where is his video on JT views? Oh is his friend, so he won't do it, gotta keep going against the lamestream media!!!

IDK if its still true but Ethan and Hila moved because a few months ago JonTron gave Hila a editing job to help Jontron before alot of his views became public, job in question helped Hila stay in America and not have to go back home.
With them in a legal battle and hurting financially its probably a stupid idea to tell your wife's boss hes a piece of shit, not saying its *right* to not say anything publicly but I can understand why.

The WSJ should be afraid of PDP, he is infinitely more powerful than they are. The most watched person in the world is telling a generation of potential future subscribers that they are a pile of shit lol.

The Internet and its personalities have a short shelf life. PDP could be gone in a year or two, WSJ will still be here. People also grow older and wiser. Those thirteen-to-fifteen year olds love a screaming guy playing games now, when they get to college age and PDP is as old as their fathers, he'll have a lot less appeal.
