they're pissed that the software that's available is weak (minus Mario & Wario)

Not all software is. Band Bros broke 100k, Kimishine and Hitofude broke 75k and Pokemon Dash should be around 250k now. PSP has plenty of low sellers itself, both machines really only have 4-6 or so games moving notable numbers right now. And multiplatform games (only Puyo Fever so far) are selling better on DS.
