Man the tech issues are sooo bad, it's making it almost unwatchable even though I'm a pretty big fan of speedruns. Can't imagine many casual watchers are going to stick around if the issues keep persisting, which is very unfortunate because it's such a great cause.

It's hard to run these events, but this one is particularly weird since they've done these for a few years, and I don't recall anywhere near as many issues as they're having now. How will they finish the schedule on time if they're this delayed? What are the runners supposed to do when their runs will be several hours past what they planned for?

They'll have to work some magic to get these runners back, that's for sure. I imagine people don't go to ESA just for exposure for their channels (that doesn't even work well at GDQ events), but I'd sure be stressed if my run got pushed back several hours. That's a lot of extra time to be awake and bound to the venue.
