I was mostly speculating that Xbox One X won't resonate with the mainstream because it has no identity. This isn't to say it's not perfect for your needs.
I don't really agree with your other points about PC gaming though.
Lackluste ports on PC? I'd say 95% of games will run better on this platform. I mean every now and then there are exceptions like Arkham Knight and the occassional shitty Japanese port but I most if the time I will get better performance on PC.
Your online experience sounds pretty different from mine too. I've always had a lot better time with online gaming on PC where you aren't paying a premium for basic functionality. Cheating isn't a major problem in any of the games I play (RL, OW, BF1). I've seen a person use an aim-bot maybe one time in Overwatch but can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Certainly not a major issue for me anyway.
The mouse and keyboard thing isn't fair criticsim given you can use just about any controller with a PC. I really don't see why being forced to use a specific controller on a console is somehow superior.
I'll admit HDR is a nice bonus and consoles are definitely more lounge ready. The rest has me scractching my head a bit.
What I'd clarify is that for your end, you're invested in PC. Clearly you're not the audience for this console. There are a litany of posts here where you can read rationale both similar and different from mine if you are still confused, especially in the pre order topic (it's been brought up time and time again). The above reasons work very well for me and those I play regularly with. Horizon 3 was another port that underperformed to note.
Keep in mind that some people not only prefer the living room experience, they also prefer the simplicity and the services offered I mentioned before. These are services tailored to that audience that helps engagement in a way that isn't as flexible with a PC. These people also may simply prefer to use a controller in general. Most major PC shooters do not have proper controller support as you may know, including OW. They have controller inputs occasionally but not aim correction which makes it a waste of time.
As for paying a premium for "basic functionality", that is your choice to make. Clearly you have not found value in it, others have. Some like the servers and consistency with invites and party chat and all that. I like the mostly even playing field in the console space. Most people are using the same hardware and controllers with some exceptions. To others that doesn't matter.
Others prefer consoles for being able to resell games and having more consistent physical options for their shelves. There are just so many factors that can align to make the X appealing to those that are interested in it. That's about all I can say about it.
