Hold to lock on.

xaosslug said:DMC is THE action series as far as the genre goes, so I think everyone looks to it for 'the next step' in action games, so whatever tweaks and upgrades are made to the series go overlooked on account it won't do much for the genre as a whole.
now you're determining if $75 is an easy solution for everyone or not, when an easier solution is simply "Would you like to install files to decrease loading time in this game? ( Yes / No )"test_account said:How much do those cost? I dont think they are too expencive. But anyway, at newegg.com you get 120GB 2.5" HDD for under $75. If space is lacking and its important, $75 shouldnt set anyone that much back. I guess you can get like $25 for the PS3 HDD as well if you sell it. But if they own a PS3 in the first place i guess they can afford $75 for a HDD with more space. Its an easy solution
most people disregard the review, the reviewer sounds like the average button masher who doesn't understand the intricacies that devil may cry offers over a friendlier game.C- Warrior said:Allllriiiight, 500+ responses and only about 4 of them have been about the review.
Close, lock, banish, eliminate?
*there are going to be plenty of review threads from more mainstream websites like ign, gamespot, and 1up* that we can all bitch about. Fear not.

C- Warrior said:I love my HDD the way it is, empty and un-used because no dev. wants to take advantage of it. Damn Capcom for wanting to take advantage of it to help make the PS3 version unique and end the days of homogenuos ports and eliminate load times.
Fuckin-a.
oh, i get it.test_account said:True that, but i mean if lack of space is that big of an issue for people, the solution to the problem is only $75 away. I'm looking for the solutions, not the problems

Dunno where the texture stuff came from, but the other stuff is in the review.

we should never complain, and instead just spend money to solve all our problems.
good plan!
or 3) they can also buy it for the 360 :/test_account said:Who said you shouldnt complain? That is totally up to yourself if you want to do that or not. Now the situation is the way it is so you can either find a solution the problem or you can complain. Sure, people can state their opinion and all that, no problem at all, but what do you do after you stated your opinion? You can either complain some more (which would hardly change anything) or you can see if there is a solution to the problem.
I also thinks having a mandatory install isnt the best solution, but i do see the solution to it. All PS3 do have enough space to install it. If you dont want to delete current stuff on your PS3 HDD, then a solution is to buy a bigger drive. If you dont want to delete any stuff nor buy a new disc you basicly have 2 choices left: 1) Do not buy the game 2) Complain some more. What people do is totally up to themself of course, but i would have either deleted some old stuff or gotten a bigger drive if i needed more space

text too small?
buy a HDTV!
game needs an intstall?
buy a HDD!
andrewfee said:I doubt people buying a 20gb machine were expecting 5GB mandatory installs.
So, GAF, which version do I get?
360:
Rumble
Achievements
Cross-game messaging / invites.
Better textures. (only minor from the comparisons I've seen, but a difference nonetheless)
More anti-aliasing.
3rd game on this engine on the 360 so it's bound to run well.
PS3:
No load times. (~5 seconds on 360 so no big deal)
Uncompressed audio. (big plus in my opinion)
Better video output. (most people won't care, I do)
PS3 buttons/layout better suited for it.
5GB required install though.
Costs £10 more. (£12 for the LE)
Need to buy a Dual Shock 3, adding £40 (DS3 supposedly doesn't cut out like sixaxis does, has rumble)
...It's kind-of why I bought my PS3
How do I install Resistance to get rid of the loading?
McLovin said:or 3) they can also buy it for the 360 :/

Now that the news it out that the PS3 version does in fact have achievements of a sort, people have to bitch about not having a gamerscore to add those to, or about the only report anywhere that has said the 360 version looks better, or about lower load times.yurinka said:I don't understand this trolling about the install. Why don't delete some downloaded things? You can also re-download them later. Or also can delete an old installation of a game you aren't playing, you won't loose your game stats and savefiles.
And I doubt you'll see all your dozen of porn movies stored in the HD every day. :lol
I think it's just an excuse to troll the PS3 version. If you want to troll it, talk about the flickering of shadow and edges and less aliasing.
But this graphical issues of the PS3 version wasn't mentioned in previous comparations. They only happens on the PS3 version?
My Arms Your Hearse said:So we're almost to 500 posts and people are STILL BITCHING about the install requirement for PS3.
GAF KILL YOURSELVES. YOU'RE NOT WORTHY.
Are you talking about the way nero pulls himself to set areas with the devil bringer? or the combat itself?C- Warrior said:Which is the problem. The innovation in DMC4 seems to be enough for the DMC series. Yet everyone expects it to 're-establish' the fuckin genre like DMC1 did, or improve it vastly with gameplay additions (instant weapon swap, style/stance system) like DMC3 did.
But still, I promise you the "instant grapple/arm mechanic" of dmc4 is going to show up in future action games. I can already see Kratos' blades of chaos in God of War 3 being used in a similar fashion as Nero's Devil Bringer arm is used.
Oh, thanks, I guess I have that then. I've still got 30-60 second load screens in it.Killthee said:It's a mandatory cache that gets installed the first time you run the game.
Don't all Sixaxis pads cut out intermittently though? I've disabled all wireless devices in the house, and even then mine still does it, which pretty much does make a Dual Shock 3 a requirement for a game like this (seeing as it's supposed to fix that problem) assuming they haven't made it any easier.Mrbob said:All I know is this game will play infinitely better with the sixaxis (or DS3) than it will with the X360 pad. Perhaps we should add a PS2 controller adapter onto the cost of the 360 version since this is what you'll really need to play the game respectfully. The X360 pad is great for a lot of things. DMC games it is not. The face buttons are too hard. The bumpers are too hard for constant pressing.
CoD4 is 60fps too, but it runs better on 360. Do we know which DMC4 runs better yet?Mrbob said:Both are 60fps.

I remember there was some tearing pre-release on the 360 version, has it been fixed? Does the PS3 version tear too?
As the game was originally being created for the PS3, does it run better? Will it run better on 360 because they've done two games on that engine before?

UncleGuito said:Hmm, I don't really know what version to buy either. I was planning on getting the PS3 one (because I'm planning on buying single player multiconsole games for PS3), but achievements and rumble are luring me over to the 360 version.
I don't know why achievements affect me so much...

Doesn't it prove that the opposite is true? I'm not required to use 5GB to play the game on 360. (though it would be nice to have the option to do so if I wanted to)tanod said:Wow! The core and arcade not having a hard drive is a gaping wound. This thread is proof.

From the screenshots they showed there was some apparent aliasing, however there weren't any 360 shots there to compare those to. The gametrailers videos showed a bit less aliasing but the quality of their HD vids are terrible. Another case of waiting for the demos to judge.JudgeN said:hmm after that comparsion video that was posted, what the hell were they talking about no AA on the PS3 version.
