IGN hosts perfect quality boxes, you just have to know how to get them

How do you get the last of us' one?

Seems okay, and it appears that the '160h or 160w' would refer to height or width in this case.

I'm not expecting super Hi-Res boxart for pre Gen-VII stuff, but this is pretty good.

Edit: Hope IGN doesn't mind us all hotlinking this stuff, because honestly this will probably eat up a decent little bit of bandwidth. :p

I'd used GameFAQs Images until now, but these are gorgeous and high resolution.
If only there was a way to access localised boxart.

Oh well, great find!

I don't think it works for all boxarts, to be honest. I've personally tried a dozen and only one or two are large sized. The rest are smaller or crappier than amazon can do.

Nice, I need to get around to getting the kind of boxart paper so I can print out boxart for games I have with GameStop covers. Which is like.....half of my PSP collection and nothing else. GameStop sold PSP games for pretty cheap prices just a couple years after the games got released but for some reason a lot of the boxes got gutted.

Made a few corrections with my Sonic Gens U mock-up (new on left, old on right):

Now it's in better quality than the last, but it's funny that the one IGN had was sourced and resized from Sega who has a pretty badly compressed box (same of which Sonic Retro uploaded).

So I grabbed the box from SegaAmerica's flickr, as that has to be the same as found on their Press Site.

Redid somethings and did a better resize and viola.

Also a lot of boxes on IGN from last gen do have artifacts, a lot of the recent boxes are in perfect-quality though.

Cool, i always changed image names to see if i could find more of whatever i was looking for, like beta images on official sites, but most of the time it was just for porn.

Fun! Nobody else plays with URLs every now and then to see what's hidden behind the scenes, eh? It's a good skill to learn, I sometimes build lists of movies or games by cheating the itemcount or trying out some simple "genre=" injects into the URL based on what I find in the metadata. Fun and valuable (if only for the huge dorks amongst us who build lists and stare at boxart.)

I've been trying for years to dig through Xbox.com's graphic scheme, publishers must send those graphics at higher resolutions (would have been really nice to see all the detail that we'll never get to see in the leaked Star Wars First Assault graphic) but I've never been able to find anything better than what's shown on the Xbox Live site. Maybe they just don't store them better than that, they compress and forget, that'd be a shame.
