Yes, In Massachusetts, a democrat-dominated state, the state government chose RMV to give the impression that the shitty DMV is run by Republicans.

Similarly while people in many states complain about going to the Dentist, we here in Massachusetts call it the "Rentist," to reinforce the whole R = Bad thing.
