The "main" gaf discord in now a discord for another site that will be starting. From what I gather, they are not taking new people right now due to attacks from the likes of 4chan. Community Gaf discords blew-up like crazy when gaf went down but joining any of them right now will likely be difficult as things seem to be on a bit of a lockdown waiting to see what happens with potential new places (and many of them were attacked as well)

Just logged in a couple days ago to post in the Etrian Odyssey thread and found the site down. Don't follow the politics much and always loved GAF as a place for gamers without the conversation devolving to a bunch of fanboy flame wars. I began reading Twitter to find d out what was going on, seen the allegation against Evilore, disappointed but that's something for him and her to work out, GAF and the people that make it are all individuals separate from that.
But reading Twitter is horrifying, so many people laughing with glee over the fall of neogaf - I don't get it. Just felt like there was nowhere to go...
So many more accusations of mods being complicit, I don't know if it's true, screenshots can be faked. But the whole mess of people celebrating the fall of this community is really sad. So many angry sad little people that wish to politicise everything, I just want to talk games with like-minded people.

That’s a shame. I have mixed feelings about all of this but I’d prefer not to react unilaterally. The allegations sound bad, but were also then deleted, and the woman had a physical relationship with him afterwards

Not to condone at all, but it could have been an incredibly misread signal. If charges are pressed or any legal action taken then my view may change but right now everything seems magnified by 1000 (not just this situation, the internet reactions to things generally) and it all seems a bit out of control

Did you read the kotaku article? here's the interesting part The girl got into a "physical relationship" with him after that shower incident. They likely were more than just friends, sure what he did was a bit rash but other than him being "mean and resentful" to the girl after her seeing his crown jewels and basically rejecting him, nothing of note happened. People are suiciding their accounts for a half assed testimony of a girl that likely wants to get revenge on her ex and probably cash in a bit on his fame.

People are going completely nuts because he grabbed an ass ages ago in the past and now showed himself naked to a girl that got into a relationship afterwards, seriously, calm the fuck down guys and give him a break, he's only human and I bet most of the ones complaining probably did much worse things in the past, hiding behind the anonymity of their Avatar.

So be it, I'm here to celebrate games I like, if there is a diversity of opinions I'm fine with that unless it's just shit posting which will likely be banned away like in the past. 4chan is completely unmoderated from what I've seen there, EL will get new mods, hopefully some that don't ban you for saying things like "Anita Sharkeesian is a con artist" or "I didn't enjoy any Uncharted since 2 because they are all more about the same and I am happy the press is stopping to shower the new expansion with 10s and give it more appropriate scores"

I got banned for saying both things, even though I was elaborating my opinion, for 1 or 2 weeks. Neogaf.com may not forget, I don't forget either. And if some of those extreme mods are gone I don't think it's much of a loss.
