The costume is accurate to the character it's based from. Unfortunately Sniper Wolf was designed almost 20 years ago, before all of the recent criticisms in gaming.
Edit: Will this be DLC in the future? I think this sneaking suit would look better than the XOF outfit.

Well I'm not saying it's a good design, I just thought the term misogyny is probably off the mark here. One can design the most tasteless, pervy, sexual fictional characters while loving and respecting (real) women.

Sorry, it's probably a stronger word than necessary. But really, after so many years of the same thing, it's just tiring.
In a very limited sense, sure. There is no real person named Quiet who is being harmed by this portrayal of her.
By that token, bodice ripper pulp fiction isn't harming anybody either. That doesn't mean that they're any less low brow titillation. This mod will add to the appeal of the game for people who find cleavage justified by a just-so-story objectionable. It isn't a bad thing.

Just my guess, but that's the only reason that annoying little prick makes any sense. Plus he fits in with the philosophy. He was being set up to be the perfect non-lethally nerfed of course battle buddy. Of course this assumes we had another 60% of game left in which to do it.
it may seem like an asspull but its an asspull that fits in with with foundation of genetic modification and dehumanization of the soldier. She's literally a plant/cat/assassin/tool/pawn/and a woman last, and it was the patriarchy/Patriots that did it to her.
I'm guessing that finally at the end of all of this, she finally gets some agency and goes off on her own, but I haven't reached her mission yet. This might be an actual although mightily ham-fisted 'feminist awakening' story.

Yeah the outfit isn't the problem. It's the real reason for it, ie. all of that^^, and her constantly shoving her ass in my face and sitting crooked to give better boob view when I'm doing idroid stuff in the chopper, that's what makes it embarrassing and shitty. The XOF outfit helps some with that.
It's not a surprise. It just continues to be boring. And also disappointing, considering Kojima is capable of reigning this stuff in, which in the case of MGS3, made for better characterizations. Probably my favorite MGS in terms of the story, because of the characters and their dynamics. What titillation there was, was justified. Eva's trying to jack Snake's stuff throughout the entire game. ...you know what I mean.
B&B was absolutely the same kind of crap though. Arguably worse. Or better I suppose, considering it's worse to cheapen a character that has some.
B&B is some sort of war crime though. It's not just the drawn out creepscenes. The horrendously hamfisted, dull and dreary exposition Drebin shovels at you, I assume is supposed to provide some backstory and give the characters depth, but all it does is bore you to tears while shining a spotlight on the fact that all their backstories are practically the same, that there absolutely is no character depth. Making it even more blatant that they're in the game purely for one reason, which really was not necessary. I'd prefer it if they were Transformers like I originally thought. They'd be more than meets the eye.

His vision is what it is, same as it ever was. Who cares? The disappointing thing about her character was Kojima building her appearance up as if there was a deeper meaning than her simply being a Bellsprout.

That's the outfit I always put her in. It was stupid that it couldn't be unlocked until so late in the game. Wish she had her hair down in it like she wears it in the prologue though. Maybe someone will mod that too.
Its been shown but not confirmed I think. Its been found on disc which is complete bullshit as its been a endgame tradition since MGS1.

Where did that screen come from? It doesn't look like the standard sneaking suit.
You get a cosmetic one from normal story progression. The infinity bandanna I think requires an S-rank in one of the last few missions.
