Knowledge is power, guard it well
Three seasons after this one, Horford has a 30 million player option.

Fuck that's one of the worst contracts of all time.

538 gave C's a 58% chance of winning tonight.

Look, I understand their formula was based on regular season performance, but they're just making themselves look bad now by continuing to stick to it. lol

Completely embarrassing for the players.. not only the result.. but your fans giving you a standing ovation at the end of.. GAME 2!

because they know that was the last home game of the year.

In a world with private planes this doesn't seem like a big deal.

Consistent cross country flights with less than 48 hours between games is not the best solution for the quality of the NBA's product as everything is currently constructed. In an ideal world they significantly shorten the regular season because who really cares and move to a true 1-16 playoff bracket + extend the time between playoff games, but that is unlikely to happen because of revenue concerns.

People keep saying the Celtics are "close" to being a top tier team but they really aren't.

They are one of the last 4 teams still playing basketball. That's as top tier as it gets. Sadly, in this day and age there are 2 teams that are above everyone else and no one has a fighting chance (maybe the Spurs fully healthy could have roughed up the Warriors or the Cavs but I still wouldn't take them to win 4 games), but there's no shame in getting this far.

Honestly I do think the Celtics are in a great position.

In two years they'll probably have:

IT/Fultz/Hayward/ plus another high lotto pick, if not #1, and the rest of their solid bench and role players.

I've watched them pretty consistently this entire playoffs and I seriously doubt they'd trouble portland (8 seed in the west). Playoffs need to be seeded without regard for conference. Yes east teams would still be too high since they play each other but it would still make for better matchups than we have now.

Yeah definitely not this much effort. Which I mean, is smart. He's basically playing a season long warm up, then unleashes his power in the playoffs. All his career he heard "No one cares about regular season Lebron, GET RINGS LOSER LULULOLOL" and so he's like "K." I mean, the first meeting with the Warriors, I really wonder how that would have gone if Kyrie and Love were healthy. He won two games with basically no one around him lol

They'd be getting ready to maybe 3 peat if both of them don't get hurt.

I just hate their roster. It's poorly constructed and makes no sense in the context of the modern NBA, and only really "works" because they have enough good warm bodies to grind out regular season games and because Brad Stevens is a wizard. Yet-Another-Young-Point-Guard and Hayward aren't going to move the needle that significantly.

Maybe having Kevin Durant would have been enough to vault them to the level of being true challengers but that possibility is long gone.

Seems like the solution would be to just extend the break between the playoff games by a day or two, in order to make up for travel fatigue.

"Poorly constructed"? It's anything but, look at the trades Danny did to get this talent. He gave up a bag of socks for IT, used porn mags for Crowder, Bradley is signed to a very affordable contract, Horford legitimately had his moments, they are the 5th youngest team in the NBA, the payroll is going to be low as fuck this season and they have the next top pick and possibly another top 3 pick coming up. They have holes yeah sure, but this could have been a rebuilding year, look at where the Lakers are.

Nobody is going to be "true challengers" while this Cavs and this Warriors are playing like this. I understand the sentiment about Boston, but they made it to the Conference Finals. The only other non super team to be able to make that claim is the Spurs, the Popovich Spurs. They just played as badly as they can and the Cavs just played as great as they can. It happens. It's one game. It doesn't take away what the Celtics have accomplished this year.

Depends on the health of LeBron and Curry IMO. I'm hoping they're both in top form, should be a hell of series.

After tonight I'm just looking forward to next year for the C's.
True. I really hope everyone is in tip top shape the entire series.

And that Zaza keeps his feet to himself
