I'm not actually making this argument, but for arguments sake, what do you actually do in SC?
What is so equivocally different in shooting things as opposed to traveling/exploring when it comes to "what you do"?

What I'm REALLY asking is, what do you need to see from NMS in order for it to be "doing" something? Shoot someone in the face? Drag a body across the ground?
Just honestly curious what it is you are and aren't seeing from these games.

You can use whatever. Even a wiimote or classic control or 3DS if you wanted. Its just personal preference. Ive adjusted enough to the gamepad controls to not feel hindered by it too much.

Probably, I just kind of skimmed through it. I kind of don't believe that game exists.

I need to see something besides randomly generated planet flybys with tons of pop in every time it gets shown. For a game that has won tons of awards its hilarious how nobody knows what the hell you do. All they keep doing is talking about it. I'd be perfectly fine if they just came out and said this is mainly a game about discovery in space. Instead they say other things...but don't show any of it.

I have tons more confidence that SC and Elite Dangerous will pull off what they are trying to do vs. NMS.

Guess I haven't seen/heard about the other stuff. I know some combat encounters can happen if you choose to, but from everything I've seen and read, it is totally about the exploration.

You get money for discovering new species and areas. Money is used to get a better ship (not upgrade your ship apparently, but buy a newer one that concentrates on stuff like better weapon, or faster, or more fuel load).

Saw an interview where guy was saying that there is no tutorial, or any mission pick up, so you won't know that some guys will give you money to escort (another ship, or protect an animal, can't remember what the topic was without finding the video), but you would be provided money for it.

So yeah, it's pretty open ended. I guess I'm looking for tranquil type of game so that excites me a bit if they accomplish it.
Sure they could fuck it up, but from the info I've seen, I'll take that chance.


Star Citizen looks pretty, but I'm not sure how much I personally care to play a space dog fighting / FPS game.

Threw some bad balls but that auto D pulled it out for you. I still have no clue how Chancellor got that first int, dude warped in front of wide open slant.

Edit: I don't want to FB dive but from the one every one of you dudes would do it to me, why the fuck not. I sat there thinking about running a real run, for what though? I'll take the TD just like 99% of you.

Yeah we both made some very questionable calls. I couldn't believe that pick you got on the post. That safety looked like he warped over.

Game was crazy. In the second half, AZ seemed to be role playing Kaep with some single reads. Couple picks with other guys wide open but running shallow.

Happens to everyone though. Couldn't believe that last fumble right after the pick

He was being super successful with the blitzes so I got antsy and kept trying to get the ball out early before trying to scan the field.

pretty sure this was win or be out. because CK was taking the other wild card spot. could be wrong.

Yup, you're right and I was right initially, but looked at the records and forgot about division.

What I'd have loved to see in the past few weeks is my team force a god damn game-changing fumble the way my opponents seem to.

gg DM. That play was really the game from my perspective. There was one other play where you sold out on the run and I just threw to the guy I was expecting to get open, even though I had guys open for paydirt.

The other difference-maker was too much pressure on Brees when he was facing just a four-man rush. I've been trying to reduce the amount of rolling out I do, I maybe should have moved around more this game. Only sacked once, but I got plenty of incompletions from being hit as I threw.... a couple on key third downs, to boot.

GG Pistol. I was testing out some blitzes against obvious out route passes but I couldn't get there in time. Guess those plays aren't worth running as it keeps my defense exposed. Couldn't believe I hit the wrong damn button on 3rd down at the goal line. TE wide open. :x Oh well.

I think the stream worked which is good!
